Chapter 83

Rolling over in bed, I was met with a warm sheet but no warm body. Groaning, I lifted my head and looked around for Wyatt. He was standing in the kitchenette pouring some coffee in a mug. He already had on jeans and a T-shirt.

“What time is it?” I asked as I yawned.

“7:30. I need to go to Reed’s office and finalize the attacks for tomorrow. We have to all be on the same page across the U.S. Take your time, but you do need to get up and get dressed so you can meet us down there as well. There is feedback from the video, and you also need to know what is going to happen tomorrow.”

“Ugh, okay. I’m getting up,” I said as I laid back down and covered my head up with the blanket. I heard Wyatt chuckle. Suddenly, the blanket was gone, and the cold air attacked my warm skin. “What the hell?”

“I said up, not back to bed!” Wyatt laughed. He came around and gave me a kiss on the forehead. “Take a shower and get dressed in something comfortable but nice. There will be a lot of people seeing you today. I love you!”

“Yeah, love you, too,” I said grumpily as I got up and started toward the shower. I heard the bedroom door open and close as I got to the shower and turned it on.

Showering quickly, I dried off and made my way to the closet. Hmm, what should I wear? I guess my signature leggings was not appropriate, so how about a cotton dress? It was all gray with buttons down the front. I paired it with basic white sneakers. My jewelry matched nicely with it, and I braided my hair to the side. I kept my makeup light, making me look put together without doing too much.

“NINA?” I heard Kelly yell from the bedroom. I got up and ran to the bedroom to see Kelly standing there, dressed in a yellow sundress that was flowy. It had white daisies on it, and she also had on white sneakers. Her hair was left down, and her makeup was more detailed but still looked perfect for her. “There you are! I was sent here to make sure you got out of bed and ready for the day!”

Rolling my eyes at her, I said, “Yeah, yeah. I am ready to go!” I showed her my outfit with a twirl.

“I approve, now we need to get to the office.”

“You are in a hurry today?” I asked.

“More like I have Reed in my head nagging me. I swear, Nina, ever since he found out I am pregnant, he is on my ass about everything!”

Smiling, I said, “He just cares about you!”

“A little too much caring!” Kelly said as we made our way to the office. “He could stand to relax a little on a few things. Like this morning! He had the nerve to ask me if it was okay for me to drink coffee! I was like, dude, it’s decaf and fuck off!”

I was rolling, laughing. Tears were coming down my face as we entered Reed’s office. Reed and Wyatt were there and saw my tears as I came into the room with Kelly in tow. Wyatt could feel I was happy, so he wasn’t concerned but Reed was a different story.

“Oh crap! What is it? Is the baby, okay? Kelly, are you okay? Come sit down right now!” Reed jumped up and ran to Kelly, almost knocking me out of the way.

“REED, I AM PERFECTLY FINE! BACK OFF!” Kelly shouted.

Reed looked at me for help, still seeing the tears. “Dude, I was laughing at Kelly. She is okay, and honestly, you need to relax a little. That was a little much just now. If I felt better, you would have been electrocuted for touching me without me knowing,” I said as I made my way into the office and sat on Wyatt’s lap.

Reed rightfully looked ashamed. “I can’t help it. I just get so worried something will happen,” he said, throwing his hands up and letting them fall back down.

“Honey, it’s okay. Just try not to worry about every little thing. I can manage my body. I promise!” Kelly said, trying to reassure him. He nodded but still guided Kelly to the couch and made her comfortable. She rolled her eyes but let him take care of her. I think she liked to be pampered but didn’t want to admit it.

“Anyway, back to the work at hand. There is a stack of papers for you to sign, Nina. Most of them are signing off on who will be where for the war, and some are documents I have drawn up stating what happened and why. Mostly, we need the paper trail for after. Some are requests from packs around here asking for a variety of things. Don’t sign them yet, those are labeled at the end but do look through them. I know they are not the most important thing right now, but I have a feeling they will ask you when this is all over, and I want you to have an idea of it so you’re not blindsided. We will go through each position with you, so you are aware, too. Ready?” Wyatt said as he shoved a stack of papers my way.

This would be a long fucking day. “I need coffee and doughnuts!” I said, eyeing the paperwork, “And an assistant for this shit.”

“Your assistant is right here!” Kelly said from the couch.

“Okay, assistant, take the requests and put them into piles for me to look through!” I said, pulling out the requests and handing her a quarter of the paperwork. She eyed it like she didn’t actually mean it, but it wouldn’t kill her to do something productive. I turned around and Reed and Wyatt were both just staring at me. I shrugged to them, and they both just nodded and kept going.

I picked up the first paper.

Location: Crooked Pine, Oregon, at 2:00 p.m.

Packs: Midnight Moon, Redwood, and Eclipse Falls

Primary: 17 Miles East of Prineville, approx. 500 rogues, 157 women/children. Abandon prison.

I read it out loud. “Yes, so that means the attack will happen at that address in Oregon. Those packs are the ones attacking there, and how many approximate rogues, and how many people they have captured,” Reed said. He placed a blue flag on a pushpin and put the pushpin on a map of the U.S. that I just noticed was hanging on the wall. Looking at it, they had already done around twenty of these.

“Holy shit! How many more is there?” I asked, shocked.

“A couple. Now you see what we are doing. This is a massive organizational headache. Most people have been great and patient. I will scan these papers when we are finished and email them to all the alphas, so they know their target.”

“A lot of blood will be spilled,” I said, just staring at all the blue. “And a lot of lives will be saved.”

“We can do this,” Wyatt said, coming to stand behind me. I rested my head against his chest and just took it all in.

It took us about an hour and forty-five minutes to finish everything. Looking at the map, there were a total of thirty-two locations of attack.

“Where will we be?” I asked.

“We have it narrowed down to three locations. However, I got an email today that said Turner was caught last night. Apparently, he was caught attacking a girl. The pack was moving into position for attack and was surveying the area and caught him. They transported him to their jail and will be waiting for a trial when this is done. However, we know Grant is with Mason and Devin together, and at this location.” Reed pointed to an island off Mexico. “Tom, we are thinking one of these two locations.”

“Well, that is where I will be,” I said, pointing to the island. That must be the island he owns.

“Yes, you and Wyatt will be there. I will be leading a team to find Tom,” Reed said.

“What about Zach?” I asked slowly.

“Zach will be with us. I want to keep a close eye on him, and if any surprises happen, it is best he is with us who can deal with him.”

“Are we thinking there will be any surprises?” I asked.

“Who knows! I just know they won’t come willingly,” Wyatt said.

“It won’t matter for those two. I plan on killing them, so I hope they fight back and give me a reason, because them living isn’t an option,” I said with such venom. Everything they did to me was etched into my brain, and I would never forget.

Reed and Wyatt just nodded and looked at each other. They knew that was how I felt but it was another thing to say it out loud.

“Where will all the women and children go when all this is over?” I asked suddenly.

“For now, they will have to stay wherever they can. Each alpha has agreed to open their borders and make accommodations for them.”

“I have a feeling there will be a lot of mates found tomorrow,” I said quietly.

“Hopefully, they accept each other,” Kelly said finally, speaking up from the couch.

I looked at her and nodded in agreement. “We need to make sure they do,” I said more to myself than to anyone.

“Hey, Nina?” Kelly said.

“Yeah?” Pulling myself out of my thoughts, I looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

“This is a weird request,” she said slowly. “They are asking for rights to a website, but this is a different webpage.”

“Where?” I asked, coming to stand by her. I leaned over to look. It was a request from Solar Moon pack and the webpage was a “.com/dw/prn/kd” ending.

“Solar Moon pack? Where is that?” I asked Wyatt.

He tilted his head and came over to me, grabbed that paper and looked at it. His expression got very dark, and I felt the anger brewing. He went over to the computer without saying a word and typed it in. Instantly, popping up was an auction site. There were videos of torture and rapes happening, and it was being sold to the highest bidder.

Inhaling sharply, I was stunned into silence. “Solar Moon pack is the pack location where Devin and Mason are. They wanted you to see this. It is a taunt,” Wyatt said, very pissed off.

“They are auctioning off the videos. They are auctioning off the women and children!” I said, pointing to the description. It described the women, not the video being seen!

I heard someone vomit and I turned to see Kelly hunched over a wastebasket. Reed rushed over and held her hair back as she finished. He grabbed a tissue, and she wiped her mouth off. “I’m sorry, that makes me sick to my stomach,” Kelly said, looking away from the computer.

“Let’s get to the kitchen, Mom is making lunch!” Reed said and pushed her out the door.

“This is like a slap to the face,” I said to Wyatt. “Devin is saying, ‘Come get me if you can!’”

“Yeah, I will get a trace going on this and get this fingerprinted. Maybe we will get something off of it.”

“It won’t matter. I am not leaving them alive,” I said as I walked to the couch and sat down, away from the computer. Wyatt sent some text and forwarded the assignments to the alphas.

“Let’s get you some food, too,” Wyatt said as he got up and came around to me. Holding out his hand. I took it and he pulled me up, leading me to the kitchen.

“Let’s tell everyone the good news?” Wyatt said, smirking as he rubbed my new ring.
