Chapter 40

Gabriel didn't say much to Juniper either.

But Christina had sent him a message.

Since Chloe had gone to throw her weight around at Christina's friend's place, he naturally needed to come salvage the situation and avoid being dragged down by Chloe.

Gabriel was crystal clear about how much Juniper had helped Christina during her three years in Harborview City, without asking for anything in return.

Naturally, he knew how important Juniper was to Christina.

Juniper immediately understood what Christina meant and didn't call him Mr. Stone. "Gabriel, you said it yourself. See you tonight, and I want to eat all of The Copper Kettle's signature dishes!"

The two exchanged a few more words, and right up until they hung up, Gabriel didn't say a single word to Chloe.

His attitude couldn't have been clearer.

Being ignored, and thinking about Gabriel's personality, Chloe suddenly didn't dare make a scene .

She turned around, planning to go inside first and find another chance to deal with Christina later.

"Wait." Christina called after her.

Chloe turned her head, her tone fierce. "What!"

Christina smiled and played the voice message Gabriel had just sent.

"Chloe, you dare to find handsome guys for Christina! Your bank card is now frozen."

Chloe choked.

The Stone family was different. As the person in power of the Stone family, Gabriel had the authority to freeze any Stone family member's bank card.

No matter how excellent she was or how much money she could make, it couldn't compare to what the Stone family gave her.

Chloe pressed her lips together and tried to leave, but Christina called her back again.

"What else!" Chloe glared at Christina.

Why was it that whenever something involved Christina, Gabriel unconditionally took Christina's side?

"Gabriel wants you to send him a message after listening."

"Got it." Chloe turned around.

"He wants you to reply using my phone. He doesn't want to contact you directly."

Chloe felt so wronged she was about to cry.

Even now, Christina wouldn't give her the phone. Instead, she held it in her hand, pressed the voice message button, and then indicated that Chloe could speak.

"Gabriel, I know I was wrong."

This time, after speaking, Chloe ran off directly, not wanting to give Christina another chance to call her back.

Christina watched her retreating figure and sighed. If Chloe was really this afraid of Gabriel, she wouldn't have fallen for him.

She'd need to be more careful around her from now on.

But Christina didn't expect Chloe's revenge to come so quickly.

They clearly hadn't called anyone, and they'd barely sat down and chatted for a bit when the door was pushed open and four male escorts walked in.

Christina frowned. "Who told you to come? Get out."

The four male escorts looked at each other.

They didn't know who had called them either. Their supervisor had only said someone had requested them for this private room and told them to serve well, so they came.

The situation was a bit awkward, but it didn't matter. They were familiar with this kind of thing. Once the clothes came off, no one would keep asking where they came from.

The four exchanged glances, took off their outer jackets, revealing see-through outfits underneath. Their not-particularly-muscular bodies were faintly visible under the sheer fabric, with chains woven through, making people want to remove the outer clothing to get a better look.

They really understood women's preferences well.

Combined with their handsome faces, they were quite alluring.

Freya exclaimed in admiration, "Christina, why don't you give them all to me? I can handle it." She had already planned it out—she had two arms and two legs, four people was just right.

Christina glanced at her. "I'm fine with it, just afraid you won't be able to handle the consequences."

"What do you mean?"

"Who ordered them?"

"Who else could it be? Chloe, obviously."

"Then do you think Chloe took a picture of them coming in?"

Freya was annoyed. "Christina, why don't you just go beat her up?"

Christina shrugged. "She can't take it."

Opening her phone, sure enough, the top trending topic was already titled [Possible breakdown in business marriage between the Stone family and the White family, Christina hires male escorts at club].

To shoot up to number one on trending so quickly, Chloe had spent money on it.

Christina called Marc.

She had a secretary now, so these matters should be handed over to the secretary to handle.

"Marc, take down the trending topic for me."

"Yes, Mr. White. Do you need me to find out who's behind it?"

"No need, I already know who it is."

After hanging up, Christina showed the screenshot to the four male escorts. "The fact that you entered my private room is already the top trending topic. I'm Gabriel's fiancée. Do you think after getting involved in this and having people find out, you'll have a good outcome?"

The four were immediately shocked and alarmed. "Aren't photos not allowed here? Who did this!"

The four didn't dare stay in the room any longer.

Who was Gabriel?

In Aurora City, saying he could cover the sky with one hand wasn't an exaggeration.

They were even considering running away to somewhere else.

But before that, they needed to have their supervisor find out who took the photos and leaked them.

If it was an employee, they should be fired and made to pay compensation. If it was a customer, they could never be allowed in again.

Just as the four left, Marc's call came in. "Mr. White, I hadn't even made a move yet and the trending topic was already taken down. I asked around—it was handled by the Stone family's side."

As soon as he finished speaking, the phone screen flashed. It was Gabriel calling.

"I know, you don't need to handle the rest."

"Gabriel."

"I know."

"You're not calling to blame me, are you?"

"I trust you."

The corners of Christina's mouth curved up slightly. "You trust me that much? What if I really did hire them?"

"You wouldn't. You have high standards. If you were going to hire someone, you wouldn't hire anyone worse than me. They're not good-looking."

...

Chloe looked at the trending topic on her phone, watching everyone in the comments criticizing Christina. She hadn't been happy for long before the trending topic disappeared.

She froze, then suddenly stood up. "Elton, I need to go back."

Elton was surprised. "What's wrong? Your dessert hasn't come yet."

"It's nothing."

Chloe quickened her pace.

Elton was puzzled and wanted to see her out.

They happened to run into Christina and her group coming out of their private room.

Elton glanced at the room they came from and looked at them disapprovingly. "This is ridiculous. If you want to date, find someone clean and proper. What kind of people are here? And Christina, you and Gabriel are preparing for your engagement party after all. What will Gabriel think about this?"

He had seen those four male escorts go in. At the time, Chloe had even taken photos. He reminded Chloe that photos weren't allowed here, and she said she was just curious about who was so impressive as to order all four of the best-looking male escorts at once.

Who would have thought it was Christina and her friends inside?

After speaking, Elton looked at Freya. "You need to stop. Don't mess around yourself and drag Christina into it too."

Freya's anger immediately flared up.

"Elton, don't try to control me!"

Freya bumped hard into Elton and ran off.

Christina frowned. "Elton, you misunderstood Freya. Those four male escorts weren't ordered by us either—someone else ordered them and sent them to us."

As she said this, Christina was also looking at Chloe.

"Gabriel already knows. He's helping investigate who's trying to frame me. It even made it to trending."

As she spoke, Christina opened the screenshot she'd taken earlier to show Elton.

Chloe wanted to stop her but couldn't react in time.

Elton looked at the familiar angle and scene, then turned his gaze to Chloe.

"Elton, why are you looking at me like that? Are you suspecting me? I came here with you. You know I didn't do anything. Didn't you say you liked me? Why would you instinctively suspect me when something happens?"
