Chapter 26

When we entered the university, from the entrance it was already announced that there was a party of the century in the fraternity of the soccer team. And it wasn't just because of the signs, but also because the loud music in the place could be heard where it shouldn't be heard. I thought they were going to end up sending the police to shut us up, even though my university had large acres of it.

The students could go and complain if they wanted to, but it was going to be hard to calm down a huge flood of students coming even from other places.

It wasn't like I had ever been to a college anniversary party before, where they let these same people go crazy inside, but seeing the size of the events I had been to before, I knew I was going to see some craziness in there.

So much so, that the same three-story building was not big enough to hold so many people, that they had to improvise and move the party to the outskirts of the field with their huge sound speakers. That was the reason why music could be heard even at the entrance.

I regretted having dressed in something so tight and short, because it kissed too many unknown and drunk people. Although we had not arrived very early to say, but it was unbelievable that they jumped into the pool with clothes on and some of them were running around shirtless.

"God, how crazy and it's only ten o'clock," my friend said, looking out of the car at everything going on around us without even getting out. He screamed as soon as a person crashed into the door laughing, having been chased by someone and so, without a care in the world he kept running. He looked at me out of the corner of his eye as if worried and surprised, "It almost went through the glass. They're on drugs."

"I can't go any further, there are too many of them everywhere," the cab driver said and I nodded. My friend paid him for the fare and we got out, arm in arm.

"Is this a frat party?"

"I don't think so, it's anniversary. All the college students are here and it's sure others are too," my friend replied and we advanced inside, having them beat us, "Have you written to your slave yet?"

"Yes, he's waiting for us at the door," I said and he nodded.

The soccer fraternity was huge and yet they couldn't fit people inside. They were afraid that in the midst of all the madness there might be a dead person.

The brown-haired man appeared through the double doors with a smile. A dark blue shirt wrapped around his torso, while underneath he had on a pair of jeans of the same color. His hair was neatly groomed.

"Hi," he greeted and wrapped an arm around my waist, to give me a kiss.

At that moment when I intended to use it to push the other indecent guy away, I didn't mind him acting like he was my boyfriend, as it was necessary. I would fix later about making him believe things he shouldn't, but I couldn't tell him that a man I saved at a college party threatened my best friend so he could see me.

That would be no good and I didn't know what he would be capable of, even if he looked very rational. It was one man trying to forcibly take another man's wife, even if neither of us knew it.

And even if she wasn't anyone's wife. But it was part of the game.

"Come to conquer?" he asked amused. My friend rolled his eyes, but he was partly right. I was playing with very hot fire, tempting fate to ward off evils.

We entered the house, where the party was even more ablaze. Lucas lost himself in the crowd at the sight of acquaintances, leaving me with a terrible intrigue.

We approached his group of friends and I greeted them, however, he was not there. My thoughts were lost, on what I should do to get a maniac out of my life.

I was not a hero, nor did I give him reason to approach. That strange obsession to find me, made me nervous.

I hadn't noticed it until after four glasses of a yellow drink.

My cell phone started ringing. It was an unknown number, but I knew it was him.

"Where's Lucas?"

"On the second floor. Are you coming?"

I sighed and walked away from the others, forgetting that I had come with whoever it was, since I knew who was on the other end of the line.

It was Iah.

"I'll be right back, I have to go get Lucas. Tell Kyllian I'll be right back, okay?" I said to Tom and he nodded quizzically.

I walked through all the drunk and stoned people in the place, feeling like the music was a little heightened in my ears and evidently, because I had been holding on to Kyllian, I hadn't noticed how dizzy I felt from drinking.

Had the alcohol gone to my head so quickly?

I tried to ignore that I was feeling different, to go upstairs to look for my friend, not knowing exactly where he was.

When I was near the second floor, I looked around until I met the gray eyes of a man leaning on the wooden railing, watching every move I made. He was looking at me quite curious and challenging; I knew it was him.

I gave him the most impatient look possible, to show him that the darkness of his eyes did not intimidate me, while inside my heart would explode in a matter of seconds if I did not control what I felt.

I had seen him like that with Matt, when they were competing, but now that I had him in my sights and it was me he was trying to intimidate, I didn't know how I was still standing and more drunk.

I was probably getting my strength from the alcohol.

I walked around, trying to distract him while I looked for Lucas. Surely he had been looking for him and was trying to find me that way.

What did he want from me?

No matter what it was, I wasn't going to get it.

However...

I stopped my thoughts as soon as a body crossed my path, blocking my entire passage, even placing his hand next to mine on the railing.
