Vivianna

I bit my lip nervously as I waited for my brother to walk through the door. Vito shook his head and glared in my direction. Rolling my eyes, I let out a frustrated breath. “What?”

“Matteo is going to be furious.”

“Fuck off, Vito.”

Vito clenched his jaw, storming towards me and placed his palms on the back of the sofa. I gasped, jerking back as his breath hit my ear. “I’m tired of playing nice, Princess.”

“Vito!” I yelped, a feeling of uneasiness washing over me.

“You have no idea, do you?”

“What are you—” I started, but he grabbed the back of my neck and pressed his lips against mine.

It felt wrong like I was kissing… my brother.

I shoved him back and slapped him. “Don’t ever do that again.”

“Vivianna, I’m—”

“Why the hell would you do that?! You know I’m with Angelo. Your boss.”

“You—can’t tell Angelo.” He whispered.

“Then, I guess you can’t tell Matteo about me and Angelo, or else I’ll tell him what you just did. Consider yourself officially blackmailed. Isn’t that what the mafia does?”

Vito glanced down to me and frowned. He wore the same expression when I asked him why it mattered if I was fucking Angelo. He was hurt by my words. Vito opened his mouth to say something, but closed his mouth, shaking his head.

“You should go before Angelo or my brother walks in here.”

“I’m sorry, Vivianna. I’ll just go now.”

Vito stepped out the door and looked back at me before disappearing from the room. I leaned back and rested my head on the back of the sofa and sighed. Angelo had made himself scarce since we returned. Just as I raised my head, I squealed. “Matteo!”

I ran to him and hugged him, making him drop his luggage and bags. He wrapped his arms around me and spun me around. “Sister, I missed you.”

“I missed you, too. Did you bring me anything?”

I pulled away from him and smiled as he reached down to grab the bag. He grinned as he pulled out a green dress and matching shoes. “Oh my god, I love it! Thank you so much.”

“You can wear it tonight at the party.”

“Thank you so much,” I said, kissing his cheek.

“I heard you caused some problems in the beginning.”

“Me?! I would never.” I giggled, twirling my hair.

“Where’s Angelo? I need to talk to him.”

“He’s in his office,” Vito said as he entered the room.

“Vito.” Matteo nodded.

Vito glared. “Matteo.”

“Still a cranky bastard? Maybe this party will do you some good… find a pretty little brunette to fuck.”

Vito curled his lips, “I prefer blondes.”

Matteo glanced at Vito and glared, looking back to me. “I do hope you’re not referring to Vivianna. She’s off-limits to everyone.”

“So, what would you do if she started dating?”

“I would kill the man with my bare hands, and then, lock her up where nobody can get to her. You trying to tell me something, asshole?”

“Not at all.”

“Vivianna, look me in the eye and tell me you don’t have a boyfriend.”

I looked him right in the eyes and lied. “No, I don’t. Vito just likes to be a dick.”

“Right, I’m just going to find Angelo and tell him I’m back.”

I glanced over Matteo and spotted Angelo stepping into the room. He glared at Vito and ordered. “Vito, aren’t you supposed to be questioning someone?”

“I was just going, boss.”

Matteo turned and said, “I’m back and I’m ready to party. Need to let loose tonight after being around so many Russians.”

“Good job by the way. They didn’t suspect anything?”

“No, we’re good. So, what’s this I hear about Vito questioning someone? Did someone betray us?”

“No, come with me and I’ll fill you in. Vivianna, if you’ll excuse us, I need to talk to your brother in private.”

“I’ll see you later, sister. Don’t forget to save me a dance.”

“I won’t.”

Don’t fuck this up.

Just play it cool until we can tell him.

I closed my eyes and remembered mine and Angelo’s last conversation.

“I don’t want it to end.”

“And, it won’t. You’re mine, remember that.”

“What if Vito tells Matteo?”

“He won’t.”

“But, what if he does?”

“Then, I’ll deal with it and face the music. Come on, I want to fuck you before Matteo gets home. We have two hours—well an hour and forty-five minutes.”
