Chapter 168 Last Day On Vacation
Chapter 168 Last Day On Vacation
Lana's POV
I was enjoying my time in Zanzibar, I was in pure vacation mode. I was lying on a sun lounger at the Paradise Boutique Resort. It was quiet with just the right amount of breeze and sun. I was wearing a sun hat, sunglasses, my white two-piece bikini. I was sipping on a tropical juice. I was just enjoying the view of the pool and the palm trees as well as the ocean in the near distance. Well, this resort is technically on the beach, but I love it. This is the perfect place for Arden and I to get married.
I felt refreshed from everything that had been happening in my life. Tomorrow I'm leaving this place and then it is back to reality for me. It has been just over a month since I have been here. I just simply didn't want to leave just yet, but I had work to get back to and a fiance to be with.
I placed my empty glass on the little table beside my sun lounger and I stood up. I took my sarong from the edge of the sun lounger and I wrapped it around my waist, hiding the scar of my incision. It is still a constant reminder for me, but soon Arden and I will be trying to have a baby.
"You look beautiful," I turned around and a man from earlier stood by me, smiling and wearing sunglasses. His hair was cut in military style. He was wearing a red and white striped t-shirt and black shorts. He was holding a beer in one hand. I saw him in the restaurant this morning when I had a fruit salad, but these past couple of mornings, I was a bit nauseous.
"Thank you," I nodded and gave a polite smile as I grabbed my phone and I was about to leave.
He stopped me, "I wanted to take you out to dinner tonight."
"I am engaged," I held up my hand to show him my engagement ring.
"It will just be dinner with a beautiful woman that is on her own." he shrugged, "At least you will have some company," he said.
"I am not interested in having dinner with you. I have some things to do. There are many other women here, so maybe you can ask them and hopefully they won't mind," I said, "If you will excuse me," I said and walked away.
I didn't like to be hit on and this reminded me of that first day that Arden asked me out in the coffee shop. I knew that I was always going to get this because of my beauty, all thanks to both of my parents' genes. I do not know how Jordan will handle it because he looks more like my dad as he gets older and he already has eyes on him from girls. He has that Stern attractive gene like my dad. The only thing about Jordan is that he isn't tough enough yet, as my dad was tough enough to push women away. My dad isn't here to teach that to him and now he has Sam to deal with, but Jordan might end up moving out of the house and getting his own place eventually.
I entered my room. It was beautiful, the sliding doors were still open as I had left them. But room service had already brought my food. I am currently waiting for a call from Arden. He sounded better as we continued with our phone calls for the past month. He misses me a lot. There was a breeze that came through the open sliding doors, blowing the thin white curtains slightly. I could see the ocean from the balcony.
I placed my phone on the bed and I went to the food serving trolley, where my food was. I opened the silver lid of my meal that was under it. It was steak but the aroma made me feel nauseated. I closed it and bile rose as I placed my hand over my mouth and hurried to the bathroom.
I got to the toilet pot in time and my stomach convulsed all of its contents. I hunched over the toilet pot, gripping the edge as I silently prayed for it to stop because I hated it. I don't want to be sick again. I flushed as soon as I was done. I stood up, took a deep breath and then I went over to the basin and brushed my teeth.
My phone rang as soon as I was done in the bathroom and I took my time to get to my phone. As I got my phone, Arden called again and then I answered. I didn't want him to know that I had just thrown up. "Hello," I answered.
"Hey, how are you?" he asked as I sat down on the bed. I couldn't even look at the serving trolley of food. Arden sounded chirpy.
"I'm all good," I lied. "How about you? Excited that I will be with you soon?" I asked.
"I cannot wait to have you in my arms again. I miss holding you, kissing you, sleeping in the same bed as you. I cannot wait to be your husband. I never want to be apart, not even by distance," he said.
I smiled, "Me too."
"I want to try for a baby on our honeymoon but you first need to see doctor Conrad after your cycle. Have you gotten your cycle yet for the month? If Doctor Conrad gives the go ahead after that, then we can try. I want this with you but we need to go through this with caution and to prevent any complications early on."
Realization hit me as I tried to calculate, as I was supposed to have my cycle already and it has been over a month since not getting it. I just threw up and I'm nauseous.
"Lana?" Arden's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I was starting to panic.
"Um...I have to go. I will call you later," I hung up and I clutched the phone against my chest, closing my eyes.
"If it's true, doctor Conrad will kill me."
