Chapter 14: FOURTEEN

Ever since I got back from my classes, I had been in Ashley’s room as I did not want to go back to mine just yet, I was not ready for emotional or physical torture, I literally had nowhere to run to, it was better here since it was just him and his mate that were treating this way unlike my entire pack against me, I had no choice than to endure, my life would have been so much easier if Ashley was chosen to be my roommate instead of him.

It was like I was in a nightmare that I would never have the chance of waking up from, I really hated my life, she assured me that I was always welcome to sleepover in her room anytime but I did not want to bug her or her roommate.

I walked back lazily to my room, hoping that Alison would not be there, all I wanted to do was have a shower and sleep, so, I could fantasize how my life would be if it was the opposite of reality.

As I was about to open the door, someone beat me to it but it was not Alison which shocked me even more, I had never seen the brunette girl before.

He was cheating on Alison….

And maybe, me as well.

What caught my attention was the hickey on her neck, a part of me wanted Alison to find her and beat her up really bad but then, it was none of my business.

I walked into the room and pretended as if I was oblivious of what happened but he was not buying my pretense at all, I took off his hoodie and handed to him, he pulled it away from me and dragged my hand, I almost fell on him.

‘’If you decide to be a bitch and try to snitch on me to Alison, I will make sure that she turns you into a statue.’’ He threatened as he dug his nails into my skin.

I shut my eyes and tried to endure the pain but I could not, ‘’I won’t.’’

‘’Good.’’ He replied me and then, freed me.

He left shortly after for football practice and I released a breath that I had been holding, I did not like the way that I was scared of him, he was my mate for crying out but yet, the mate bond did not move him to show a bit of love, every time that I looked into his green orbs, I see nothing but hatred in them and it hurts and haunts me badly.

I have been nothing but good to people even with the way, I have maltreated, I thought that good things happen to good people but that was a big fat lie from the pit of hell, I did not even have a chance at love at all.

I got into the bathroom and sat inside the bathtub as water flowed down my body from the shower head, I stayed there for a very long time, crying my eyes out again.

My moment of peace was interrupted when Ashley got into the room and started yelling my name.

‘’I am in here.’’ I answered her as I quickly put on a happy face before she would get in.

‘’I wanted to ask if you would like to go for a late-night adventure?’’ She asked with a smirk on her face.

I had seen the woods through the window at night and it was really spooky.

‘’No.’’ I replied her as I shook my head rapidly for emphasis.

She instantly pouted her lips and made puppy eyes, so that I would agree, ‘’It is not going to work, Ashley. We are not allowed outside; we could get in trouble if caught.’’

‘’We won’t, don’t be a scared cat, you are a werewolf and we love things like this, for once, let’s go wild.’’ She pleaded.

I had to come up with a better excuse if not she would not drop this topic, ‘’I am not sure, Xander would like this idea, I don’t want him to yell at me again.’’

She scoffed and rolled her eyes, ‘’How can you be scared of my brother when I am right here? He would not do anything, besides, he will be busy doing other things, right now, he is in practice, after that, he is going to have sex again with his personal sluts…’’

I cut her statement short right there with a raised brow, ‘’What do you mean by sluts? I thought Alison was the only one.’’

She let out a mockery laugh, ‘’Gosh, Ree. You are so naïve, she is not, let just say she is the main chick but he fucks other girls too, it is a pity that Alison cannot keep her man satisfied.’’

‘’You won’t blame her, she is a witch, of course, only she wolves would be able to handle an Alpha to be.’’ I asserted.

‘’Exactly.’’ She snapped her fingers and we giggled.

‘’Don’t worry, you would not regret it, I promise, we will be back before you know it, he will be busy with his preparations for his coronation, he would not even notice our absence.’’ She added.

Has he ever?

I reluctantly agreed as I had no other choice, ‘’Okay, I will join you shortly.’’

She squealed out in joy, ‘’Oh, my gosh! Ree, has anybody ever told you that you are literally the best?!’’

Those words of her brought a genuine wide grin to my face, nobody had ever given me a reason to smile this way for a long time, I hoped that our friendship would not end soon due to unforeseen reasons, she was the only one who had stuck around for so long and I did not want her to leave.

I was still afraid of what Alex would do to me if he ever found out that we were outside the four walls of this school, I would be a dead meat that is if I do not get killed by a rogue or a hunter before then.

Goddess, please save me from this situation.
