Chapter 100: CHAPTER HUNDRED
We took the easiest route and looked out for the guards and Esau's father. While we passed the back gate, Esau insisted on carrying me so we could move at great speed before anyone caught us. I let him and he placed my small body in his arms, running with the strength from his work.
The wind blew my hair in the most relieving way and I was already considering that we did this often. What would it be like to be out in the world, even if just for a little while?
For the first time in a long while, things felt normal, like I was staring at life or something, like I finally have the choice to do my thing. I felt alive.
As we walked, Esau chatted about the food and the place we were going to. It was nice to have someone talk to me like a normal person. I realized that I was actually looking forward to this, and that was a feeling I hadn't experienced in a long time.
Luther
“My brother says you suspect something happened to your father and that he didn’t die from the illness, pray tell” Odessa said climbing the bed we shared.
It was late and I had just finished going through some other files about my father’s illness. I was advised by the physician that the best way I was going to understand how my father died was to study the sickness he got affected with.
Since I found it hard to trust anyone at the moment I took up his advice and sent one of the guards to gather all the information they could on that sort of illness. The information came late but I was able to grasp a lot from that file and now I was sure that someone was not telling the truth.
“Yes, you heard correctly” I responded without turning from my position to look at her.
I was sitting up with my back against the head of the bed. My eyes were solely focused on the envelope sitting on the desk beside the bed.
“Should I not be among those whom you ask questions of?” She said settling beside me and I looked at her then.
“Whatever do you mean by that?” I asked and she shrugged her shoulders and clasped her hands together.
“I mean, I lived here during that time. I knew of your father being ill, in case you have forgotten we were lovers i-“
“Are you trying to make me ask you questions because you want me to think you can provide the answers ?” I asked out of confusion.
“No, you just didn’t ask me anything yet. It’s weird” she said staring down at her fingers.
I haven’t truly known Odessa but I know for one that she wasn’t a fool. It was either she knew something or she wanted me to write her off as part of the people I was suspecting and to think of it I had no suspect yet but she was right. I should ask her questions because she was close to my dad and as she has said they were lovers. How could I have forgotten about that?
“It’s late” I said dismissing the idea.
If I were going to ask her anything, it wouldn’t be when she was expecting me to.
“You trust me right?” She asked when I lay down and turned off the lights.
“Where are you going with this?” I asked sighing. I was not in the mood to have this conversation, especially when I know that someone tried, or rather succeeded in killing my father.
“Nowhere, I just want to make sure we are on the same page. If I am to be your queen you have to trust me. I am yours”
“Okay, go to bed Odessa” I said closing my eyes.
There were no sounds again for a while and I thought she had fallen asleep into I felt her arms around me. I didn’t move or say anything waiting to see if she would take the hint and see that I wasn't in the mood.
She has been craving a lot of sex since she got pregnant and as much as letting out some release was nice it was boring. I've always noticed it but I never thought so much of it but something was not very fulfilling in our sex life.
“Luther?” She called and I ignored her still.
She rubbed my arms and my chest, as her hands went further down I opened my eyes. She couldn’t see me because I had my back turned to her and the room was dark. Her chest pressed against my back and I realized she was naked.
I closed my eyes tight to stop the one thought I always had trouble getting out of my mind from slipping through.
“I know you are awake, look it’s not my fault, t-this baby just makes it so difficult not to want you I-“
“Odessa, lie down and try to sleep” I said after getting tired of her rubbing my body.
Every time she wanted me to touch her she always tried to blame it on the baby and I don’t blame her, the physician did say that this was going to be a time where all she would need was physical contact.
“I don’t feel like lying down” she said kissing my back.
“What then shall interest you other than sex?” I asked certainly not feeling like having sex.
“Embrace me Luther” she said and I sighed.
I lay on my back staring up at the ceiling that I could barely see in the dark.
“I am too tired from today's work to focus on doing something but if you let me I can find you release in some other way,” I said and she instantly agreed.
Sitting up she turned on the lamp sitting on the table on her side of the bed.
“Turn it off, we won’t be needing any light for this,” I said and she sighed loud enough for me to hear.
“Okay, what do you want me to do” she asked. One could hear the excitement in her voice but I ignored it because I wasn't excited.
“Just lie down and open your legs,” I said.
She was quick to lie down on the bed. I would rather go through the envelope on my desk than please anyone right now but I know if I didn’t do it I was likely to not go to bed and even if I did I would not be sleeping for a long time.
My fingers found it’s way down her legs and between her thighs. I was met with moist flesh, she was ready for me. I pushed one finger inside of her and she grabbed my arm.
“Did that hurt?” I asked and I felt her shake her head.
“Good cause I was about to stop”
“No, don't stop. It didn’t hurt” she said and I sighed but didn’t stop, it was better to get it over and fast.
She was already on the edge by the time my second finger went in. I didn’t have to move my fingers for long before she came writhing with pleasure. It was also a good thing she was pregnant because it takes less time to get her off, I didn’t appreciate it before but tonight it came in handy.
“Where are you going? What about you?” She asked when I got up from the bed.
“My study, “ I said grabbing the envelope on the bed with me as I left.
My fingers were sticky so I cleaned them on my clothes. If it were Delora I would have licked my fingers. She might have been a murderer and all the other things she was accused of but she was sweet. Her smell and taste were intoxicating. I knew I should not be thinking about her that way especially now that she was pregnant with another man’s child, a farmer’s son at that.
Shaking my head I dismissed every thought of Delora. She was practically dead to me at this point and I’d rather focus on my father's death than someone who betrayed me.
