Chapter 22: New Strategy

Calista’s POV

New Strategy 

Everyone murmured and I just bowed my head saying,” I am so sorry, everyone, I got carried away.” How I wish the ground could just open up and I would just dive inside, this is too embarrassing for me, I must say. Why now? why?  I still can't even look at my boss because I feel so ashamed of myself. I even kissed him and ruined his suit when I threw up on him, I am so dead, I am certain by now, he will have the plan to just sack me.

“You may continue.” He said to the person talking before and I still find it so hard to look at him, I can’t believe I did everything to him last night, this was not part of the plans at all, I never wanted this from the very beginning.

I didn’t know when the meeting got over but someone hit the table and I raised my head up, seeing my boss, I looked down, I bit my lips in regret, what do I do now?

“Are you okay Cali? What was that you did earlier?”

“I am sorry boss, I got carried away.” I lied to him.

“Some documents will be sent to your email, go through them and send them to the finance team to draw out a budget and the risk that follows, bring it to me when you are done.”

“Yes, boss.”

“One more thing, remember the business trip we are taking, make sure you have everything set for it.”

“Yes, boss.”

He turned around to walk away, I don’t even know how to call him to stop and apologize to him, I am so ashamed to even face him now. 

I stood up on my feet and walked out like a zombie out of the place, heading to my office.

I remained in there and decided to work hard to make sure, those thinking didn’t come to me at all.

He called my office line saying, “Meet me at the parking lot in the next five minutes.”

“Yes, boss.”

Oh no, I am going to see him now, how on earth will I approach him? What do I say? What if he scolded me about last night? What do I do now? This is really frustrating I must say.

I summoned courage, walked to the parking lot and stood by his car,” Get in.” I heard his voice from behind.

“Okay, sir.” I walked calmly to his car and he drove to a restaurant and he said to me,” Won’t you ask me what I want to eat for lunch now we are here?” What is his problem? why would he ask me such a question? did I also promise him lunch while I was drunk? 

“Huh??” I didn’t know how to react at all.

“What happened to the bravery I experienced yesterday, you told me you will take care of me right? You told me you will work so hard so the lunch bill is on you or have you forgotten about last night?” He sounded so serious while talking to me and then I knew I couldn't escape this but why would he take the word of a drunk girl seriously? I don't mean what I told him.

Immediately hiccup started with me and I was very ashamed, I wanted to ask him why he was even at my place last night, but it’s impossible to ask that now I am already in trouble with him.

It’s just lunch, I will pay for it and there is nothing else, the show must go on, my carelessness won’t ruin everything for me, I won’t agree to it at all.

It was terrible at lunch because I wasn’t even as tough as I used to be before.

During the weekend I called Mother asking for a favour from her, I wanted the address of Caroline since she blocked my number already, I think it best I go to her house to see her,maybe doing that she might reconsider and give me a chance to speak. I really hope she doesn't turn me down at all.

My mom sent the home address to me ASAP, yes she has a high connection so getting the address of the lady for me is a piece of cake to me.

I got all dressed up and headed to her home, it was around a lonely place, it was calm like a grave then I saw the land, lane 20, then block 5, I went directly to the gate and knocked at the door.

Caroline opened the door and when she saw me, her mood changed, “What do you think you are doing here? Get out now.”

“I am sorry Caroline, please just hear me out.”

“Are you deaf? I said leave me alone, I don’t want to see you or have any conversation with you.”

“I know you don’t want to buy please, I really want you to get the justice you deserve, just hear me out.”

“Do you think that family is easy to mess up with?? Moreover, I never told you I needed your help okay, stay away from me or I will report you to the police that you are trespassing.”  She went in locking the door with rage and I felt it from here.

What do I do now? I need to at least know the full story from her because I am certain everything Casper said was a total lie.

“Calista??? Is that you?” I recognised that voice, I turned around and I was so excited to see my friend, “Zari Brunette!!!! It’s so good to see you.” I hugged her.

“Me too.”

“How have you been?”

“I’m okay as usual, I thought you were still in the UK?” I asked her.

“Nah, I am tired of staying there and I returned because of someone, why don’t we get ice cream and shawarma at the truck so we can talk more, I really missed you.”

“That’s perfect.”.

Well, I met Zari in my first year at school in the UK, I made sure she didn’t know much about me because I didn’t want anything to ruin my upcoming plan then. I told her I was on a scholarship but after graduation, she moved to a different city and I lost communication with her.

I am so glad to see her again, I enjoyed being friends with her and we exchanged contacts.

I returned home thinking of a way to cause problems for Casper so he could come to me and be closer.

I found the right strategy to use against him, I visited the university where he works and he was not around.

I asked a few questions and rumours had it that there is a girl he is seeing, she is around 18, what if he is forcing her to be his lover and have sex whenever he chooses? I won’t visit that now, I came here for something else.

I waited at the abandoned building in the university and texted my new plan,” I am waiting.”

The next minute, she was here, “Hey Mama, I am here and ready to work.”

“Good, I was told you are the best by the one who recommended you, what I want is simple, seduce Casper, get closer to him but even if you end up fucking him for real I don’t care, make sure you are always with him, then give me feedback about it always, can you do that?”

“It’s a piece of cake.”

“Good, I will wire one millionaire to your account.”

“Wait, are you serious?”

“Yes,I am damn serious but I am not done yet,” I added.

“I will tell you when to create a scandal online about him and what you will do next, but when everything is over, I will send you out of the country with your bills taken care of but remember one thing, you must not reveal my identity to anyone, am I understood?” I said to her looking at her directly in her eyes and she gave me the confident response I needed, Casper game on, it is over for you.
