Chapter 30: Chapter XXIX
We landed in a deserted area just out side the perimeter of the compound where the villa is located. Staying to the shadows we move along the wall stopping just under a tree that spilled over the wall and had a camera watching the the top for intruders. Shades moved up staring at the camera which started moving slowly. No alarms were going off so we waited until the camera was positioned away from us and moved up the limbs, over the wall hiding behind some shrubs silently listening for foot steps. A few seconds went by as Yuji tapped me letting me know everyone was there.
It felt like this place was empty as we made our way to the portal room. I didn't sense any life energy other then ours and a couple people opposite us at the entrance to the compound. They must have left already. Then a barrier started going up around the place as we got to the portal room. “We have to go now! Look for a concealed energy stone it'll look like yellow topaz or tigers eye,” I said quietly searching for around looking behind the desk. Yuji clicked her tongue as she found the stone next to the fire place, “Here Kai. Come on guys we have seconds before we are stuck here.” Yuji pushed on the stone as a portal formed in front of us which we ran through.
Stopping just short of the table on the other side, staying silent as the door closes we slowly move around the room. I passed by a windows to see the red and orange sky with two moons floating in the air. It has been a while since I seen this. I thought to myself as I stepped up behind Yuji next to the door and Shades was behind his brother listening and sensing for movement on the other side. Yuji slowly opened the door looking to both sides we make our way left as that's where I felt Jasper's life energy coming from. It felt weak which made me want to find him faster, but I moved with Yuji knowing she could feel my emotions.
Stopping at a staircase hearing voices coming from down the stairs one speaking to the others, “He has been away from us too long. There's a chance the mark won't have the same effect as before. He found family for himself. You know we have to kill them if we want “our dog” back.” The other voice spoke up and said, “It may not be that simple. You smelt him when we brought him back he's had a female on him. The scent wasn't all human either. We could have a prize on our hands if we can get his lover. Those half breeds go for top dollar if they are young enough.”
I held myself in place as I heard these dirt bags talking about me like I was some item they thought to steal from Jasper. They wanted to break him so badly that his soul died, but his body was theirs to do dirty work as they pleased. It made me sick that they thought to use my mate that way, but Yuji kept me in place reminding me that we are here to prevent that. The two brothers with us looked on waiting for us to make a move. Moving to the back of the hall moving out of sight of the staircase we had down that hall where there was a locked door.
Jewels moved up to the keypad while Shades watched his back. He almost had the code when all the sudden the door unlocked starting to open. Yuji grabbed my hand shoving me in a closet next to the door the brothers following. There was Jasper moving past us heading for the staircase, I quickly move to open the door stepping out so he sees me. He stops at the top shock evident on his face but a very slight shake telling me not to follow.
Looking at him as he moves down the stairs toward the Masters a dull look in his eyes like he is lifeless. Turning my head Yuji looks as confused as me, but Shades and Jewels both grabbed us moving us through the door we were trying to get through earlier. Pulling us along to a room then opening the door and locking it we are both staring at them waiting for an explanation. Shades touches the door then speaks, “ He gave us a signal to move you out of sight. He warned us that there might be times he can't react or talk to us if we tried to rescue him. It would be very subtle the signal, but we needed to obey at all costs. What ever is going on right now could get all of us killed.”
Taking in his words I calm down a bit wondering what could be scaring him into keeping us out of harms way. “There must be another demon at play here. The older they are the harder they are to kill or escape from. There's only a couple I know if that would keep subordinates they trust and even fewer that can have slaves of their own. We might not be able to take him this time. If the situation is as dangerous as you are essentially saying we could be risking even more by trying to take him back,” Yuji said which only infuriated me more. “Your asking me to leave him again?! This is the second time I've come to get him and had to leave him. No he is coming back with us and I don't give a shit about the big boss down the hall. I can't leave him like this again. I can't,” I said tears falling down my face, “ I can feel the pain he is in and the fight against the orders he has. Its eating him alive and I can't just leave him that way.”
Yuji grabbed a hold of me tight holing me close to her. “We are going to get him back, that's a promise. We need more information about who is pulling the strings behind these “Masters”. This could be bigger then we know and if Jasper has been dealing with these demons for a long time he may know how to take them down,” Shades said determined to get his brother back. Jewels looked just as determined as I pull myself together looking at the group in front of me, “Sorry about that. I've just been really worried about him. I've been wondering for a while now if some of my past enemies are catching up to me. Jasper was captured to easily and we know how strong he is, not just anyone could have taken him down.”
They nodded in agreement Shades adding, “When we checked the crash sight it looked like someone sent a psychic energy ball at him and he had to jump off his bike to avoid it. It could have looked like he was thrown off the cliff from his bike, but the scorch marks on his bike left an energy signature I haven't felt before.” Thinking it over it would make more sense that someone was controlling these “Masters” from the shadows so not to draw attention to the big boss demon.
“Whoever is pulling the strings around here knows their players well or they would have them doing such extreme work without the okay first,” Yuji said following my train of thought. Sensing a couple demons heading towards Jasper's room he jump out the window closing the window softly as Jasper and another demon enter the room. It was a female siren demon who started stripping off her cloths then kneeling on the bed. “Come on, Master said I had to make you come 10 times before I could leave the room. The beating last time left me without my voice for months,” She said stripping his pants off.
I shimmied down the tree and hiding in the bushes as Yuji and the others followed down hot on my tail crouching down looking at us knowing this wasn't part of the plan. “You know where we have to go if you don't want to open a portal,” Yuji said with a knowing look. Looking to the two brothers with us I nod to her for us to start heading to the last place I ever thought to see again. Home.
