Chapter 19: Chapter XVIII
Heading back to the club house cruising along the high way feeling free as I ever have. I had a woman who wanted to be with me just for me. I couldn't have asked for better and she was funny, sexy and smart as hell. I make my way to the club house as the Prez had sent a message let me know of a meeting we were having. Pulling in I park my bike next to the door where I usually park, cut the engine and walk inside. Walking down the hallway I turn left opening a door to the meeting room. Sitting down next to the Prez he slams his gavel bring the meeting to order.
“Alright we have a few things coming up. Riri has some intel on the job we are doing this weekend that just came up.” Riri handed out folders to each of us, as I open mine I see some pictures. “Who's this?” I ask pointing to the guy next to the woman. “That is Derrick Drake. He's a business man out of New York. He's been buy up property in Sacramento and surrounding areas. He's also someone who's been on my radar for while now. All the properties you see listed are from Witlock Holdings LLC.” My head shot up alarm bells rings so loud my head hurt. “You've got to be f*cking kidding me?”
Everyone looked at me like I had lost my mind. Sighing I explain, “He's been buying up my girls properties. That must be what her aunt has been taking with out asking.” Everyone but the Prez and a couple others still had a shocked look on their faces. “What?” I said looking at them confused. “Since when do you have a woman?” Gears asked me. Mie chimes in with, “How come we haven't heard about her until now?” “Now hold on everyone there have been some missteps on my part,” The Prez began explaining, “He's just gotten to know this woman lets not scare her off. Now this guy has been finding woman that spend money like water. This isn't his first, but it will be his last. The next set of images is why he needs to be taken out.”
Turning the page I could tell that this guy wasn't normal in any way. The scenes were gruesome, blood every where the victims looking like marionettes with no life in there eyes and tron up bodies. I always knew there were others like my Masters, but I had hoped we got all the ones who were brave enough to flaunt their habits to the world. Now this one was too close to what was mine and that did not sit well with me at all. “I was already going to ask, but we need to put surveillance around Laura's house. If this guy gets a wild which from this it seems like he would he'll go after her to make sure her aunt pays up.”
The Prez nodded as well as the others Kaya saying, “Some of us can do lunch dates with her to keep her safe.” The ladies of the group nodded as well some happier then others about this. “My girl also has a new roommate now. Her name is Yuji. I guess she's an old friend of Laura's from before the coma. See if we should be worried about her okay?” Speaking to Riri he nods writing down notes on his little note pad he keeps with him. The rest of the meeting was about the job we had to do this weekend and its final preparations. Having already made mine I waited for the meeting to end so I could call Laura and let her know what's going on. The Prez and Vice Prez followed me out into the common area the Prez tapping me on the shoulder saying, “Can we have a min?” Nodding we sit at one of the tables.
“I know this relationship is new to you, but don't over crowd the woman too much. Even if its to protect her she may find it overbearing and push you away again.” The Vice prez advised me. “We aren't tying to tell you what to do its just this is the first time you've ever been interested ina woman and we don't want you to scare her off with some of your habits.”
Thinking about what he said I can see how they could be worried. “I hear you, I do. She has been making sure I know her rules too. Her waking up after 17 years has put her on the defensive and aunt f*cking up her finances did not help her with trusting people. I am taking things slow so don't worry she's strong then you'd think.” “Alright man we just want to make sure. Nothing against you man.” the Vice Prez said to me squeezing my should as a sign of affection. I got up and for my room to check over my gear for the hundredth time.

I couldn't believe she just kicked me out like that. She was always a timid little things always doing as she was told never fighting with me. After Laura's parents died she really clung to me for emotional support and that wasn't something I was good at. My phone rang and it was none other then Derrick Drake. He has been itching for a date since day one of meeting him. I did have a couple lunches with him for the foundation, but I could tell he wasn't my type. Although very good looking he had to much command of the tings around him and I didn't want to be one of those things. I like living loose and free with now real attachments. I could go anywhere and do anything without someone yelling at me that I'm doing something wrong.
These last few years have been heaven as everything I worked so hard for was coming through and I could now sit back and bring in the money. Kimi was all on board until she became an adult then she went and did her own cosmetic company. It was doing well she went to school and made sure she could take on this business for before she got to deep in it. I would read about her in Vogue or some other fashion magazine she was featured in. I was so proud of her.
Stopping in at one of my favorite restaurants I pull up to the valet taking the ticket sliding it in my purse then walk inside to the restaurant. The place was in a hotel but the food was very good. I was seated at the bar as I wanted a drink after seeing Laura. I still couldn't believe how assertive she had been. I was told she was only awake for a couple of months, but she acted as if she was an adult. She should have been more childlike. I wondered if she had been awake longer then I was being told. Needing to talk with Kimi I rach for my phone when a man slid into the seat next to mine and it was none other then Derrick.
“Fancy meeting you hear,” he said trying to be a smooth talker like he was. “Its one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in town,” I said in an off handed comment. Looking for Kimi's number he reaches for the phone setting it done on the bar. “I had hoped to talk with you, but your assistant said you were budy today. Was I being lead astray?” he asked a bit accusingly. A little annoyed I relied, “Not that it is any of your business, but I had to go check on my niece today. I had been hearing strange things and needed to make sure she was okay. Satisfied?” “Not hardly, but I'll accept your answer. Now how about we have that chat?” he asked in an arrogant tone. “Look I am not in the mood for a chat. I simply came here to eat then go home. So if you would kindly wait until the meeting we have scheduled for tomorrow I would appreciate it,” I said trying not to sound offensive.
He had a tight smile on his face, but said, “Fine, but this is the only one off you'll get out of me. Don't avoid me.” he walked off a dark look on his face as he turned away. A shiver went down my spine, but my food arrived at that moment reminding me that I needed to eat. Thinking a bodyguard might be in order I dial up Kimi seeing if she knew of a good company to go with.
