Chapter 146

Brian’s POV

When we got home from the doctor’s office I made good on my promise. I had her strip down to her sports bra and wear her cotton shorts as she sat in the recliner with a fan blowing on her. I had her lean back while I sat in a kitchen chair and massaged her feet. I rubbed her sore legs and massaged her shoulders too. Before long she was asleep in the chair and I felt awful for her. I helped do this to her and my selfish ass had wanted more kids. I’m not so sure about it now because unless she asked me to I would not do this to her again. She slept so peacefully and I was happy she was comfortable for a while. I went into the kitchen to grab me some food and sit and talk with Jason. He had come to talk while Em was asleep with the baby.

“So I hear that Faith has been emotional.” Jason said.

“Shh shut up. She doesn’t need to hear us talking about it.” I said, shushing him.

“ I’ll be the first one to say Em is really emotional this time around and I’m drowning in how to help her through it.”

“ I feel you on that one bro.” I said. “ I know if she had the twins now they would be okay and it would be best for her mentally to have them. I know they will come when they are ready, but they need to be here now.” As if right on que Faith walks into the kitchen and her legs are wet.

“ I think I peed myself in my sleep.” she said as she rubbed her still sleepy eyes. “ Why do I feel like I still need to go to the bathroom?” she asked, still not realizing what was going on as she began to walk groggily to the bathroom.

“ Faith.” I said.

“What? I have to pee.” she said annoyed.

“ If you peed yourself in your sleep do you think you’d still have to go to the bathroom.” I said, trying to connect the dots for her.

In an instant her eyes lit up and she began crying happy tears and shouting. “ Thank you God my water broke. Let me go clean up and put something in my underwear to catch my water as it leaks and you grab the hospital bags. Oh shit you haven't installed the carseats yet.” she said, freaking out.

“ Love, it is okay Jason or Sebastian can come install them while you are in labor. I will get the bags in the truck and help you get in.” I reassured her.

“ It’s baby time!” Jason shouted throughout the house excitedly. You could hear a stampede of people running from the basement and down the stairs to the kitchen.

“ Are you sure?” mom asked me.

“ Yes we are. Her water broke.” I said.

“ We need to get everyone ready so we can follow you to the hospital.” mom said excitedly.

“ Wait, Em is calling.” Jason said. He picked up the phone and said, “ wait what.. No way. Faith is in labor too!” He was so excited he hugged me.

I ran to get the hospital bags while Cassie and Natalie made sure the kids were ready. When Faith finally came down the stairs she had begun to get contractions and was feeling uncomfortable. I picked her up and carried her out to the truck. “ Give me a minute. I’m going to go tell them we will see them at the hospital.”

I ran back inside and the door slammed behind me and I began barking orders. “ Mom, Natalie, or Cassie bring Astrid, Jess, and Garett up to the hospital. Sebastian, I need you to get the carseats in my bedroom and bring them up and install them in my truck while we are in the hospital. I can guarantee you I’ll be there in less than an hour. I’ll call you when I do get there. It’s baby day!” I said excitedly as I ran out the door.

I met Jason as he took Abby to mom. “ Give me a minute, we are going to ride together for now. I’m going to have mom take my car so she doesn’t have to bother with a carseat.”

“ Hurry.” I said. Jason had Emily in the truck within minutes after running Abby to mom.

“ Now you hurry.” Jason said. “ Remember last time. We do not want another birth like that.”

“ I’m on it.” I said as I flew down the driveway. On the way up to the hospital the girls began talking about what they wanted in the hospital.

“ I think it would be awesome to share one of those huge private rooms,”Emily said.

“ Yes! Do you think they will push our beds together so we can hold hands and be a support to each other while the guys stand on the other side of the bed and hold our other hands?” Faith asked.

“ I’m going to ask when we get there. I wouldn’t want today to be any other way.” Emily said as she winced from the pain.

“ That’s if we make it there in time.” Jason said glaring at me.

“ Jason I'm going a hundred and twenty and if I go any faster I will blow the engine and we will really be screwed.” I said, trying to calm him down. You would think I would be the one going batshit.

“ We are almost there, girls.” I said as I turned on the road to the hospital. “ Do you think you can walk if I find a nearby parking spot?”I asked them.

“ Yes!” they yelled in unison. I jumped when they yelled at me and thankfully I found a front row parking spot. I pulled in and Faith nearly jumped out of the truck. I ran around to the other side of the truck to help Faith while Jason helped Emily and we walked in together.

When we got to the OB unit and checked in Emily spoke up. “ We want to share one of those big private rooms.”

“We aren’t allowed to do that.” the charge nurse said.

“ You put us in a room together or we will push our beds to the same room anyway.” she said stubbornly.

“ That is not allowed.” the nurse argued.

“Well is it allowed if we both donate five hundred thousand dollars to the hospital's nicu unit?” she asked with a smirk.

The nurse rolled her eyes, “ Let me make a phone call.” Within two minutes she came back to us. “ They said you could do whatever you want if you donated a million dollars.”

“ Thought so.” Emily said, smirking.

“Follow me.” the nurse said. We followed her past the normal rooms and through a large door to more rooms. She opened the door and they were four times the size of a normal room.
