Chapter 107

CHAPTER 106: PACT WITH THE VILLAIN

Tessa knew there would be a downside to the deal she just agreed to. She and Talia had been enemies for a long time and she had tried her best not to cross paths with Talia anymore but she had to do this for Nita's son.

The fire in the warehouse was supposed to be her big break because Talia obviously thought she was dead and would not look for her but now she had to be the one to look for Talia herself.

“You must find her in one week and bring my money to me or at least bring the bitch to me. She'll suffer for doing that to me.” Ifti's eyes were red.

“What about Tisa?” Tessa asked. They had let her sit down and clean her up since they dragged her into the mud when they entered.

“You said she died.” “I'm not sure about that. I was the one meant to die but I escaped which means she could have escaped as well.” Tessa explained. Of course, she wouldn't like a situation where she would be called a liar. Ifti was such a danger and shouldn't be joked with.

“I don't care about her. I only need my money. She brought that stupid Talia to me, now she paid with her life.”

Looking at Ifti, Tessa felt pity for Tisa because she didn't make good choices since she was dead, Tessa hoped she would live a better life in her next life. I mean who dates a man who doesn't care about your welfare or of your life?

Well, men are selfish. She thought of only one person who was as selfish as ever. “Don't think about him, Tessa.”

She nodded and hugged herself getting ready for what she would do to go put herself out there and become a thief catcher else Nita's son's life would be in danger. Her mind had somehow drifted to Julian but she called herself back to order.

“I wish you luck, whoever you are. This is just a reminder that I do not joke with my money and consider this as a way to prove myself to me, if not, I'll hunt you down.

“Okay.” Tessa quickly responded and was escorted by his men to the outside of the apartment they were in. She looked around and because she couldn't quite find out where they were she asked them to drop her off in the town so she could find the way to her house.

They agreed, reminding her of the offer again, and how they would find her if she didn't do as she was told. Tessa agreed to everything they said. She wanted to get down and find the hospital where her friend's son was.

It was now very early in the morning and she wanted to head to the hospital first but she was looking like a mess.

From the time she was kidnapped by Talia, getting burnt and dragged into the mud, she knew they wouldn't let her into the hospital, no matter how much she tried.

“Where would you like us to drop you?” They asked her and she decided to alight at a junction quite close to her house. She didn't want to alight at the hospital or at her house so she didn't want them having access to her personal life, especially to Nita and Drelo.

She walked all the way from that junction to her house making sure she wasn't being followed. Her clothes were thirty and thorn and her hair burnt. She simply wasn't looking her best self so she went home to get ready to see Nita and Drelo.

It was now 7 in the morning and she had to hurry up with everything she had to do. She wanted to meet with the doctor very early so she could figure out her plans of finding Talia and getting Ifti's money from her. That was going to be tough but she would give it her best.

She was grateful she usually hid her spare keys under the carpet in front of her home since the one she used got burnt in the fire. When she started running for her life, she had to forget every other thing, including her designer bag, shoes, and her phone.

She locked the door and went up to her room immediately to do the needful. She wondered if Hera ever came back to the house after the day she had given her a break since Drelo was at the hospital. As the water trailed down her body from her head, Tessa felt a kind of relief.

The pain she felt at her back was ignited again because of the hot water she used but she used a balm on it after.

She dressed immediately, using a scarf to cover her head because she didn't want to be noticed. Until she was ready for Talia to see her, she didn't want anyone to know she survived that fire.

She found a taxi that took her to the hospital as quickly as she requested even though they had met traffic she was still grateful they got to the hospital on time.

She didn't wait to go see the doctor first, she had rushed to see Drelo at his ward but was surprised when she didn't see him there. She asked the nurses whom she had first ignored because of her anxious state to see her friend and her son.

“He was transferred to another ward.” The nurse on duty told her and went her way. Tessa stood there looking confused but when she turned to call on the nurse for more information, she saw Julian.

He was just right in front of her, looking as dashing as always but shocked to see her at the hospital as well. The night flew by and they were back home again, in each other's arms.
