Chapter 145: Meeting Miriela

*MINOR TRIGGER WARNING*

Nathan

I shifted for the millionth time on my seat again, agitated beyond belief and ready to get Miriela already so we could go home. Cobra hadn’t told me much about where she was, but as soon as he told me we were going into the cult territory, I knew we were walking into a situation that we might not be coming out of. At least not alive. I was nervous, but I also had nothing to lose. Caleb had reached out to me Thursday after court to invite me to the support meeting he hosted. Apparently he had spoken to the women who had already attended, and they were all okay with me joining as well. I wasn’t sure if I was going to, but it was nice of him to offer.

That on top of this whole Miriela thing had my mind going a million miles a minute. I hated the unknown. It was difficult for me to deal with. At least with Amber, I knew what the next day held. A lot of drama and criminal actions. But it was not a shock when it happened. Now I had no idea what my days would hold, and that was freaking me out. At least I had today to look forward to for the past few days. I sighed, making Cobra glance at me.

“Is there something on your mind that you want to talk about?” He asked.

“Not really,” I answered.

“Listen to me, Nathan. Mallory asked me to speak to you about how you are feeling. She is worried that you will do something to hurt yourself, and she doesn’t want you to do that,” he said.

I groaned. “You can tell her that if I didn’t hurt myself any of the numerous times that I tried over the last few years, I’m not at risk to do so now. She really has nothing to worry about. You can tell her that I appreciate her concern, but it is not necessary.”

“Good. Now, about today. I am not sure what is going to happen, but I need you to remain calm and make the right choices. I have no idea what we are walking into, and cults are not exactly sane. So, I am begging you to please stay calm. I promise that whatever happens, we will get Miriela out of there.”

“I know. I promise not to put you in a position to get hurt,” I replied. “How far are we?”

“About 15 minutes. That’s why I wanted to talk to you now. My people said that the neighborhood looks like a normal neighborhood and to not be fooled,” he informed me.

I rolled my eyes. “I won’t be. Caleb explained what Eden was to me, and if Leah came from this cult and it messed her up as bad as I have been told it did, there is nothing these assholes can do to fool me.”

“Alright.”

We fell silent again as we finished the drive to the neighborhood. He was right about it looking like a normal neighborhood. There were parks with kids playing. Both dogs and cats roamed freely while women tended to the garden and mowed lawns. I rolled my eyes. Of course, these assholes thought that the women should do everything at home. A pang of guilt hit me, and I started wanting to rescue all of the women and children, but I had a task in front of me. I had to save Miriela, and then I could think about rescuing the others. When Cobra parked in front of a plain pale blue house that blended in with the other houses, we got out.

I eyed the house as we walked up to the door to knock. It was pulled open seconds later by an out-of-breath young woman, whose eyes widened fearfully before she stepped back to let us in. I had the urge to grab this girl and just leave, but her platinum blonde hair and blue eyes didn’t belong to Miriela, who the picture we had been given showed had medium brown hair and brown eyes. We were led into a living room where three men sat in recliners, drinking beers and smoking cigars. The second-largest one raised his eyebrow at us.

“Who are you, and what do you want?” He snapped.

“We are looking for a girl named Miriela. Her friend has asked us to bring her to the hospital to say goodbye.” Cobra lied smoothly beside me.

The man narrowed his eyes on us as he stood up. “Well, you can’t have her. If that’s all, you can leave.”

I took a step forward as anger surged inside of me. “We are not leaving without Miriela. So, if you would kindly get her, we will be out of your hair.”

He smirked as he met my eyes. “You want me to get Miriela? Alright. MIRIELA! COME!”

My jaw clenched at his disrespectful order before my heart stopped in my chest as a bruised, scantily-clad female stumbled into the room with her head down. She immediately sank to her knees in front of him.

“How may I serve you, Master?” She whispered.

I stared in shock at the obviously broken woman in front of me. The man’s smirk got bigger as he watched anger burn brightly in my eyes. He reached down to wrap his hand tightly around her throat.

“This man wants to take you away from me. Tell him that you don’t want to leave,” he ordered.

“I don’t want to leave,” she whimpered, keeping her eyes on the floor.

“Tell him that you like everything we do to you, whore!” He spat.

“I like everything that Master does to his whore,” she immediately repeated.

I took a step forward, and Cobra put his hand on my arm, stopping me from lunging at the man.

“Let her go!” I snarled.

He raised an eyebrow at me. “She is mine to use as I please. You heard her. She likes it. Get out!”

“NOT WITHOUT HER!” I yelled, the little control I had on my temper snapping.

He laughed coldly. “Well, you can’t have her. She belongs to me!” He kept his eyes glued to mine as he tightened his grip on her neck to the point that her lips started to turn blue. “She will do whatever I tell her to do. Watch! Suck my dick!”

I watched angrily as she reached up to undo his belt. I watched horrified for a moment as he thrust into her mouth while Cobra held me back, trying to get me to leave the room. When a tear rolled down her face at his violent thrusting, I lunged across the coffee table, taking the smallest guy to the floor when he jumped in my way. We wrestled for a moment before the barrel of a gun was pressed into my temple, making me freeze and allowing the man under me to land a punch directly to my chin, snapping my head back.

“We’ll leave,” Cobra said calmly.

The man who was still getting oral sex smirked at me as I glared daggers at him. “And don’t come back, or the next time you intrude, I will kill this little bitch in front of you before I remove your intestines.”

My jaw clenched tightly as Cobra forced me to my feet before making me walk out of the room. Before the front door closed behind us, I heard the man laugh and the sound of flesh slapping flesh, causing Mireiela to cry out.

“Now, be a good little whore and suck Leo’s dick, and then you will do Brock’s while I watch.”

I turned around when I heard the order before my steps faltered when I heard Miriela whimper, “Yes, Master. As you wish, Master.”

Cobra pushed me into the car before speeding off in the direction that we had come. He punched the dashboard before screaming in frustration.

“WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! DO YOU REALLY HAVE THAT MUCH OF A DEATH WISH?”

I sank back in my seat with my arms folded across my chest and my muscles ticking in my jaw. “No, but they do. I will be coming back for her. For all of the women and children.”

“Nathan, you have to be smart about this. You can’t just run around half-cocked about this. You could end up making them kill her. Is that what you want?” He asked.

“No, but I also know that she didn’t want to do any of that back there,” I answered.

“We both know that. Let’s get a team together now that we have more information. We can formulate a foolproof plan, and we can rescue all of the women and children. Please, just give me a little time.”

I turned my head to look out the window. “You have until this weekend. I’m going back in with or without you. There’s nothing that you can say to change my mind.”

“What if you die?” He instantly inquired.

I closed my eyes. “Then I die. But at least I know that I died doing what’s right. There’s no death more honorable than that.”
