Chapter 597 Hunger Strike

Chapter 597 Hunger Strike

Lawrence reacted quickly, jerking his head to the side just in time to dodge the blow.

There was a loud thud as Molly's head slammed into the couch, leaving a deep dent in the soft cushions.

She let out a muffled groan, ready to lift her head and continue her attack on Lawrence.

But before she could, a pair of large hands pressed her head down, almost embedding it into the couch.

With her head pinned down, she couldn't move at all. She could only shout at Lawrence, "Lawrence, if you have the guts, let me go! Let's fight one-on-one, and see if I don't beat you to a pulp!"

Taking advantage of her shouting, Lawrence rolled off the couch, using his other hand to pin her waist, completely immobilizing her.

Despite this, Molly refused to give up. Even with her legs bound, she kept kicking and struggling.

Lawrence frowned slightly, a hint of helplessness in his deep eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses.

This woman was really... Was he pushing her too hard? Was that why she was willing to bash her head in just to attack him?

Molly continued to shout and struggle, yelling at Lawrence, "You jerk, Lawrence! Did you hear me? Let me go!"

Lawrence smirked, raising his hand to give her head a light smack.

The sound was crisp and clear.

Molly instantly became furious, screaming, "How dare you hit me! You've already got me under control, and now you hit me to humiliate me? Just wait until I get a chance to fight back, I'll pay you back double!"

Ignoring her ranting, Lawrence raised his hand and smacked her head again.

Molly frowned, ready to curse him, but the words got stuck in her throat.

Lawrence laughed and said, "Get ready to pay back the eight hundred million dollars you owe me, and I'll let you go. Otherwise, stay here and don't go anywhere!"

With that, he immediately released Molly.

Forgetting her hands and feet were still bound, Molly tried to sit up, but lost her balance and fell off the couch.

After struggling to stand up, she realized Lawrence had already left the villa.

Her face turned cold as she raised her bound hands, using her teeth to untie the ropes, then sat on the floor to free her legs.

Once she was free, she hurried outside, only to see Lawrence driving away in his silver-gray sports car.

She ran to the gate, but before she could make a move, the guards surrounded her.

Molly glanced around, recognizing the familiar faces of the guards who had watched her before.

The other guards stood behind her, quickly encircling her.

There's a saying, "A wise man knows when to retreat."

Molly knew she couldn't gain any advantage against these guards. They were all familiar faces, and she had dealt with them before.

She genuinely wanted to fight Lawrence, but there was no need to fight the guards who were just following his orders.

Taking a deep breath, she let go of the gate, glaring coldly at the guards before turning back to the villa.

She surveyed the area, noting the small yard with a patch of grass and high walls.

Estimating the height, she figured the walls were about 10 feet tall, topped with shards of glass, and there were no trees or stones to climb.

She wandered around the villa, discovering that only one window on the third floor could be opened; the rest were locked.

Looking down from the open window, she estimated it was about 60 feet high.

Her plan to escape crumbled instantly. Jumping from such a height would likely result in broken limbs, making it not worth the risk.

After exploring the villa, Molly returned to the first-floor living room.

She sat on the couch, staring at the door with determination.

She refused to be locked up here.

Previously, when she was held at The Parker Estate, she didn't feel the urge to escape as strongly.

Back then, Lawrence wasn't married, didn't have a girlfriend, and aside from the lousy food, she could tolerate everything else.

But now it was different. Lawrence was married, having just held his wedding, and his bride was Zola!

She didn't want to be a mistress, especially not between him and Zola!

It wasn't about being insulted; she simply found it disgusting!

Thinking about Lawrence marrying Zola and still coming to her made her stomach churn.

Taking a deep breath, she let her chaotic thoughts swirl in her mind.

She sat there until nightfall.

Around dinner time, a maid she didn't recognize opened the living room door, pushing a cart full of food.

Molly looked at the maid in confusion, smelling the aroma of the food as the cart passed by.

The scent wafted into her nose, and her stomach growled in response.

Blushing, she turned her head away, trying not to listen or think about it.

The maid set the delicious dishes on the table, then respectfully said, "Ms. Koch, dinner is ready. You can come and eat now."

Molly kept her head turned, sitting on the couch without moving, ignoring the maid.

The maid called her again, but Molly still didn't respond. Seeing this, the maid left.

She went to the gate, speaking to the head guard, "Manuel, Ms. Koch refused to eat the food I brought in. She didn't even look at it."

The man called Manuel was the head guard, Manuel Barnett, in charge of the guards watching Molly.

The maid's words surprised him. He hesitated, then quickly took out his phone and called Lawrence.

At that moment, in the top-floor conference room of a skyscraper in the bustling commercial district of Regal City, a meeting was in progress.

Lawrence, who had just held his wedding at noon, was sitting in the center, wearing a black suit.

One of the executives was reporting on work, holding a file.

Suddenly, there was a sound, followed by the vibration of a phone.

The executives turned to look at the source of the sound, and Lawrence quickly picked up his phone, smiling apologetically, "I'll take this call. Let's take a five-minute break."

They watched him walk out of the conference room with his phone.

Answering the call, he frowned and asked, "What's wrong? Is she causing trouble again?"

Manuel hesitated, then reported honestly, "Mr. Parker, Ms. Koch refuses to eat..."

Lawrence raised an eyebrow. Not eating? That didn't fit Molly's character.

Back at The Parker Estate, she devoured the bread every day. Now, with better food, she refused to eat?

He had prepared food from a five-star hotel, and she was giving him the silent treatment!

Lawrence's cold smile appeared as he said, "Tell the kitchen to prepare something else..."

Back at the villa in the suburbs of Regal City, Molly remained in the same position on the couch, unmoved.

Despite the aroma of the food filling her nose, she acted as if she didn't smell it, completely unaffected.

Time passed slowly, and she didn't know how long it had been.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps and turned to see the maid returning.

She scoffed, turning her head away.

Then, the scent of red wine mixed with the food aroma reached her.

Molly's eyes lit up, drawn by the rich wine scent.

She owned a bar and could tell from the smell that the wine was top quality and perfectly aged!

She quickly looked towards the scent, seeing the maid placing wine glasses next to the decanted wine.

Noticing Molly's gaze, the maid smiled, "Ms. Koch, the wine is ready. Please come and eat before the food gets cold."

Molly clenched her slender fingers, unable to resist swallowing.
