Chapter 44: CHAPTER 44
DOMENICO XANDER SILVERBACK
The minute the Silvertongue’s name leaves Lucian’s lips, a gasp leaves my throat as my thought goes down memory lane, right back to where Kyle has his claws wrapped around her heart.
The horrors we went through because she decided to involve the darkness from Tartarus, just for her sister to come finish the job she had started.
The snarl ripping off Kyle’s throat tells me his intestines are twisting around his internal organs, and suffocating them. It doesn’t take long for him to bash through the door, and the rest of us have to follow suit.
A part of me wants to question my brother about withholding that piece of information from the rest of us, after all we have been through together, but Echo’s safety is the most important thing on my mind. And by the look on Kyle’s face…
It’s his too.
The closer we get to her dormitory, the more that sweet, intoxicating scent becomes stronger, till it’s all I can breathe.
I can feel a muscle hardening beneath my pants, and what terrifies me is the fact it’s coming from within her dormitory, just like I had earlier perceived.
Also, the fact that Lucian had mentally called her his Mate.
A chuckle is about to escape from my throat when the door to her dormitory opens, and a pair of green eyes pierces my gaze.
It’s like a wave of tsunami, coupling with lightning strikes me at once, and I’m forced to pin my feet to the floor to prevent getting thrown backwards.
My jaw drops.
My eyes widen.
And just like that, the fog that has been covering my eyes for months suddenly lifts, and for the first time, I see the Were-fox girl in her eyes.
Her lips.
Her hips.
A swallow slides down my throat, and just as I’m trying to regain my self-control, Kyle’s fingers instantly wrap around her throat as he forces himself inside.
Everything in me wants to believe Lucian is lying, but the minute my eyes scans the room and finds the black book resting on the shelf beside the wall, a part of myself drops deep into my stomach, and anger clenches its claws around my heart.
She really is planning on completing the task her psychotic sister could not. But on the contrary, does she know I and my brothers are the ones to silence her sister forever?
An inaudible gasp dies in my throat when the realization of it all comes crashing into my mind. Her hatred for the four of us.
The fact that she openly challenges Kyle in the arena, despite being wolf-less, and forcing her dagger into his skin.
What if all these while she is quietly planning her revenge against us?
My thoughts go unanswered when Kyle rips his hand off her throat.
Then she says something about how we’ve been betrayed, and will all die tonight when we go to rescue our brother. But when I ask how she came to know about it, she responds a name my brothers and I are not always happy hearing it.
Jade.
“And what is it you want with the crown of the sevens” I ask, and the whole room goes silent.
I can hear the frantic heartbeat of her friends. The soft but heavy drums of the chest beating against their ribcages. They are scared, but the emotions burning off their skin is strong enough to tell me they’ll fight us for her if need comes to be.
Well, one of them actually.
The one with the palest of skin like she’s birthed by the silver moon itself.
The one they call Clarisse.
The other, not so much. The blood coursing through her veins is warm, almost as if she is unmoved by the presence of three Alpha guardians standing before her.
My attention is drifted back to Raven-haired girl who has Kyle’s sole attention to herself. One minute ago, Kyle had his claws wrapped around her throat, and the next, he’s like a puppy listening to its mother’s call.
“I sometime have visions of things that are about to happen before they do,” Lyra mutters, and Kyle pays absolute attention to her like he’s daydreaming about something.
The last time I had seen him this way was at the Arena when both of them were battling it out, only for him to later take her to his personal chamber and have physicians attend to her.
But one thing that throws me off balance is the stillness of Lucian’s heartbeat.
The calmness.
Low beating of his pulse against his veins.
Stable heartbeat as if time itself is slowly passing him by.
Nothing that comes out of the wolf-less Omega’s mouth is a surprise to him, like he’s known well beforehand before the words spill out of her lips.
Makes me wonder how much he knows about everything going on, and if he can actually be trusted.
“Nonsense, Dom. Lucian is family, and he can always be trusted.”
My voice echoes in my subconscious, but that doesn’t take the negativity away from me. it only leaves the question of how much of a trust can be accorded to him at the moment.
“You don’t possess a wolf spirit, how can have visions of the future?” Kyle responds to her statement, but instead of paying attention to the words coming out of her mouth, my eyes drift lower to the rising and falling of her chest.
The pale skin of her cleavages, and the hardness of her nipples beneath the silk dress.
Saliva coats my tongue and slides down my throat, and heat flames beneath the fabric of my skin.
The pressure underneath my pants continues to build. I can feel muscles hardening after muscles. Feel the rush of warm blood pacing through my veins.
I try to close my eyes and draw in a lungful of cloying air, but the only air I breathe are the intoxicating scent she produces.
Alluring.
Wildflower.
I raise my eyes to her, and the moment her green eyes meets mine, a cord tightens deep within my chest, and the bulge in my pants is starting to become obvious.
This feeling is something I have never experienced in my lifetime.
The feeling that makes me want to get on my knees and submit to her authority. To beg for that warm taste between her thighs as I gulp every last drop of her cum.
There’re muffled voices growing in the background, and that’s because I can feel my wolf reaching the threshold and threatening to assume control over my body, even when I haven’t given him the permission to do so.
I shut my eyes to attain some form of control, but the minute I open them again, everywhere turns red. I don’t need anyone to tell me what the hell is happening to me right now.
My experience of when I was ten years old, is happening again.
The first time I had lost all form of control to my wolf.
It’s happening again, and I have no control over it.
“What’s going on, Dom?”
I can hear Kyle’s voice echoing at the back of my head as my claws involuntarily brings itself out of my finger nails.
“I… can’t…”
A growl rips out of my chest before the words can fully come out of my lips.
The heightened senses make everything worse, because now, I can smell her to the maximum.
And the only thing my wolf wants to do, is to acquaint himself with the heat of her cunt.
