Chapter 1: Prologue

It's a new chapter of my life. I have been waiting for this moment with bated breath. It's finally over! The excruciating examinations, the mundane college life, the nine to five lectures and the overbearing professors teaching anything but that would help me in my career. The education system in India is a rut, day in and day out. Students cram information in the name of knowledge and pour it all out on the day of examination, never to remember it again. The ultimate result: toppers with cent per cent marks but without the crucial life surviving skills when life and shit happen to them. I may not sound original but hey, who are you to be complaining?

I am an advocate of a free world and the policy of living and let live. But in the present scenario, opening your mouth to take permission from your teacher to pee is also considered an offence chargeable under the x and y rules specified in the college or school memorandum. Hence, it is much advisable to control your urge. Into such conditions of the world, I am harbouring a dream to become a journalist. Fiery and fierce, the passion I have towards my ambition is often not understood. Overtly ambitious is how I am described by many around me; is it bad or good, I will let you be the judge.

The suave and hard-hitting (cringe-worthy) news stories of the current bouquet of news channels have left me desiring for a change. I want to be the harbinger of change, with no idea how to even be a part of it. Lofty aims are one thing but delving into reality with practical aspects is something I am yet to learn. And therefore, tomorrow is a new day, into a life that I have longed for and dreamed for since the day I knew what I was passionate about.
