Meet Up

Meet Up

When she told Jack about the meeting with her parents, he was so eager to formally meet them. Since he isn't from New York, her parents couldn't have known what family he comes from and how much they are worth.

"Are you sure it's okay meeting them today or I can reschedule the date?" Elizabeth said, expressing her concern for Jack. It has been a fight since that fight with David in her parent's study and also a Sunday. She is dressed in a black crystal ball gown in her shape. She wore wedges that matched and carried a black small clutch bag.

Jack was forever looking good. His brown tux was perfectly tailored. He had his hair styles to the side in a way that made him more attractive. Elizabeth wondered why he didn't venture into modeling instead of business.

"Baby, they are parents, they can't bite and if not today, I will meet them very soon. I really can't wait to meet them" he placed both of his arms on her shoulder in a manner that he wouldn't hurt her.

"I know, you can't know how they can be." She said, looking very worried.

"If they don't approve of us" he takes one of her hands in his and brings it to his mouth, placing a light kiss on it. "I will have no choice than to elope with their daughter and marry her on some island and live ever after" he says now biting on her fingers in a way that made her hot. His comment made her laugh but Jack doesn't look like he is joking.

When her parents' house came into view, Elizabeth glanced sideways to check her partner who hadn't made it obvious that he was nervous. His face was unusually calm as though he was on a date with her. Jack pulled into her parent's driveway before stopping the car.

When they got out, Jack reached out for her hands and entwined it with his. Elizabeth looked up and he smiled at her, giving her the look that reads, it will be fine.

Elizabeth's parents were very accommodating and warm towards Jack or at least they pretended to be. Her parents asked questions about him and his family which he answered. Since they knew where they met, they didn't bother asking about that. After dinner, they had dessert before Jack decided to leave.

"Thank you for your warm hospital Mrs Smith" Jack stood up, pulling the chair behind him. Although he was nervous about meeting The Smiths he didn't let that become obvious. Elizabeth was getting worried so what good will being nervous do to them?

"We're pleased to have you too,Mr Walters" Mrs Smith replied, completely smitten by the gentleman before her.

Jack turned to Mr Smith and shook hands with him. "Thank you, Sir" he said while Mr Smith nodded.

"Told you it'll end up great" Jack said when they reached his car. Elizabeth had walked him out.

"That went better than what I had expected," she smiled at him. Jack pulled her into a hug then placed a soft kiss on her forehead before pulling away.

"I'll see you soon, right?" He asked, searching for the answer he knows already but only her eyes could confirm.

Elizabeth nodded, not finding her words. She watched as he got into the car and reversed. She waited until the car disappeared into the distance before turning back inside where her parents were waiting for her.

"We need to discuss something with you" her mother was the first to speak up. She looked at the face of Peter, her brother for clues on what they were about to discuss but he didn't utter any word. Sarah also remained quiet.

"Does it have anything to do with Jack?" She asked as a cue. Her parents didn't answer her question so she continued.

"I thought you like him, mother" She turned to her father. "You said you see yourself in him that he is just like your old self"

"You have no idea what my old self is, Liz. That young man isn't letting you know everything about him and that is not the type of man I want my daughter to have a future with. " He father retorted.

"And what type of man do you want for us? Someone who is older will take care of us?" She fired back.

"You are ending your relationship with Jack and that is final. I won't have you going astray while I still live" Mr Smith was angered.

"Mom, you aren't going to say anything?" Elizabeth asked, searching desperately for her mother to support her.

"Honey, I think your father is right this time. You are beautiful I'm sure you'll find another man" Mrs Smith said, supporting her husband.

"No," Elizabeth yelled. "I don't care about other men. I don't want any other man, I want Jack and no one else."

"If you apologize to David I'm sure he'll take you back. He is a good man and his parents are responsible" her mother chipped in.

Elizabeth laughed in a mocking tone. "I see where this is going. It's because of David isn't it? I don't love him or anyone else. All I want is Jack" she cried out loudly.

Her father stood up. "We're done having this conversation young lady. Stay away from Jack and tell that little boyfriend of yours to stay away from my property" the finality was clear in Mr Smith's voice as he rose up and exited the room.

Her mother stood up as well to follow her Mr Smith but stopped at where Elizabeth was standing, the guilt was in her face, Elizabeth could tell this wasn't her idea and she was just going along with what her husband said. She couldn't blame her but she didn't have to tell her that.

"It's not going to be easy convincing him, Liz," Someone said. Elizabeth looked up to see her brother, Peter. She had almost forgotten the rest of her siblings were around. Peter had always supported Elizabeth's decisions and that wasn't an exception either.

"Jack seems like a good guy, focus and look how much he has achieved at such a young age. Father should have seen this first, I don't seem to get why he is against your relationship. And one thing is sure, it is that he loves you '' Peter words calmed Elizabeth a bit. At least someone believed in her.

"I remember he was like this with me and Stella." Peter pointed out. When he introduced her fiance, Stella to his parents, their father was also against their relationship. Stating that her family standards don't match theirs simply because her father was a factory worker and her family name holds nothing compared to the smiths.

"We argued, I left home but that didn't stop anything. I went to where I saw love and looked at us now. He's more happy to have her around. I think you need to give him time, Liz. Make him see reason to approve of your relationship. Just fight for your love" Peter encouraged, patting her back slowly. He smiled and Elizabeth also flashed him one of her own.

"I think he's going to do the same thing to me" It was Sarah, who spoke up next and they all laughed. Sarah is the most outgoing of them all and they're expecting the same drama to occur. Especially when she has been secretly dating the priest's son.

"Maybe father would have softened by them and let you marry a guy with a tattoo," Peter joked.

The rest of the evening was spent with the three siblings discussing and bringing up old memories. Soon, Elizabeth had forgotten what had happened earlier. She is more glad to be with her siblings who believed and encouraged her not to give up on jack. Although Sarah isn't against her relationship, she also isn't really into it.

They all seem to hold the same view towards Jack but Elizabeth had vowed to pro

ve them wrong and show them how much her relationship with Jack is worth.
