Chapter 165 - Contract Wife Morning, My Darling CEO
Third Person POV
Cassidy’s face was flushed from crying as she gazed at Adrian with desperation.
“Why are you doing this? Do you know he saw it? He saw us, Adrian,” she cried.
She looked so miserable and scared that Adrian felt guilty and finally let her go.
“It doesn't matter. He would have found out sooner or later,”.
He stared at her tears coldly. He didn’t think Chad was worth the suffering.
Cassidy slowly shook her head, her face was white and had lost its colour.
“You lied to me,” Cassidy yelled. “You're not gay at all. You've been lying to me from the beginning,”.
Adrian smiled faintly, taking a half step closer, looking at her with an eerie indifference. “What does it matter if I'm gay or not? You just need to know that I like you, more than Chad likes you,”.
“No, that's not true,” Cassidy almost spat out the words, her gaze filled with resentment. “He loves me so much Adrian. You’re just a good-for-nothing man with anger issues and a joker. Please don’t ever kiss me, Adrian. Don’t hold me, don’t come near me. I don’t feel anything for you,”.
Adrian's handsome face remained as calm as ever, but his eyes held a hint of pain as he slowly approached her.
“You think you know me, Cassidy? I like you, you should count it as a blessing,”.
Adrian had always presented himself as a gentle and composed man, void of narcissism and arrogance. However, at this moment, his words were dripping with conceit.
Finally, Jasmine reached them.
She heard his last sentence and couldn’t help but yell.
“Adrian, you’re living in delusion. Cassidy here has a boyfriend and he’s Chad West of the West family. You know you can’t be compared to his little finger,”.
Just at that moment, a woman came over and landed a slap on Jasmine’s face on the spot. It was extremely loud and echoed loudly in the empty hall of the hotel.
Jasmine was shocked as she looked at the woman in front of her. She had seen her several times on set. She was Adrian’s assistant. She was gentle and kind on set to everyone. So, Jasmine wasn’t expecting her open show of violence and her eyes had a murderous glint in them.
“Linda, are you out of your mind? Did I talk to you? Why did you hit me?”
Linda didn't respond to her words and delivered another backhand slap. Her strength was not like that of an ordinary woman. It was unexpected. Jasmine's cheeks swelled instantly, her lips were cackled and bleeding.
If she gets another slap, her beautiful face will be ruined. Another slap and her beautiful face would be ruined.
Jasmine’s face was her selling point for making money, so she couldn’t stand being beaten like that without doing anything. So, in anger, she shouted…
“I'll fight you!”
She picked up her handbag and threw it at Linda, but Linda moved with surprising speed, nothing like the kind of women Jasmine was used to dealing with. In a flash, Linda snatched the bag seamlessly and twisted Jasmine’s arm for a moment, Jasmine thought her arm was broken and cried out in immense pain.
She grabbed her bag and flung it at Linda, but Linda moved with surprising speed. She snatched the bag out of the air effortlessly and twisted Jasmine's arm, causing her immense pain.
“Cass, please save me. It hurts! Tell her to let go of me!” Jasmine wailed; her eyes were filled with tears already.
At this point, Cassidy no longer cared about how sad she was and quickly turned to Adrian.
“What are you doing? Tell Linda to let her go,”.
Adrian smiled, his movements deliberate and calm.
“Cass, Cass, I feel offended by you. I didn’t ask Linda to do anything. Miss Pierce wanted to challenge me and Linda had to protect me the best way she could. Why do you think I will be able to persuade her to stop?”
Linda lowered her frame slightly in their direction in obeisance before dragging Jasmine outside with her.
Distraught, Cassidy tries to chase after them but Adrian blocks her path.
“Cass, Cass, you don’t have to run after them. I promise, Linda won’t do anything to her,”.
Cassidy stared back at him, her bright apricot eyes shone with tears, and her beautiful face was contorted in hatred.
When Adrian saw her expression, he walked slowly towards her.
“Cass, Cass,” he started.
“Don’t call me that,” Cassidy lashed out as her body trembled furiously “Only Chad West can call me that. You’d better call me, Miss Hart, Mr Moss!”
She rejected him yet again without mincing words. Her tone was full of disgust and for a moment, rage flicked in Adrian’s eyes before he suddenly sneered.
“Do you think Chad West loves you so much? You’re merely an option for him. He has a lot of other women whom he loves more in his life. Wake up, Cassidy,”.
Cassidy’s mind flashed to the beautiful woman she had seen in Chad’s car that morning and her body weakened. Fresh tears spilt from her eyes and spilt onto her cheeks, and her body trembled.
No, she wouldn’t believe that Chad had fallen in love with another woman.
But… how long could she continue to convince herself of this?

Inside a black private helicopter, Chad sat in the rear cabin. He removed his hat, bowed his head slightly, and remained silent.
Tom couldn't help but worry. They had originally planned to leave at two o'clock, but Chad had suddenly insisted on visiting Cassidy. Tom had assumed it was to reconcile with her and had expected Chad to return in a better mood like he’d always be when he goes to visit her, but he came back quiet.
And had remained that way until now. His eyes also seemed red.
He had never seen Chad cry. Chad was always calm and resolute. Even when he was mistreated by Felix West, he would remain passive and would never show how much he was deeply hurt to anyone.
But now... what could Cassidy have said that hurt him so deeply?
The helicopter landed about three hours later.
When they stopped, Tom approached Chad and whispered…
“Chad, we’ve arrived at City Central,”.
Chad's gaze remained fixed on the ethereal clouds, his eyes were glazed and his brows were furrowed in deep thoughts.
“Chad!” Tom called out louder than the first time.
Chad finally roused from his thoughts and turned to Tom. His face was pale and white as sheen.
“Have we arrived?”
“Yes,” Tom nodded with concern.
Chad simply nodded and rose to his feet as he got off the plane. As soon as he got off, the cold night breeze greeted him. The dampness of the spring hit his nostrils. He was still dazed; everything that he had seen that afternoon seemed to have all happened in the dream.
It turned out that for every gossip, there is an iota of truth.
“Cass,” he murmured under his breath, “how quickly your feelings change,”.
Tom trailed behind him with the fresh heart transplant for Jada and decided to remind Chad of their mission.
“Chad, we have to hurry, otherwise we will miss the best time for the transplant and all your efforts will be useless,”.
It didn’t take long for them to arrive at City Central Hospital. Before their arrival, Jada’s family had been informed of the transplant operation that would be taking place later that day. Jada’s parents and oldest brother arrived and her mother, Jennifer Patel, kept pacing at the door anxiously.
In comparison, Jada’s father and her brother were much calmer. One was going through his mobile phone, whilst the other was busy reading a book, the clouds were also light.
When Jennifer – Jada’s mom saw Chad, her eyes glimmered with hope. Her face broke into a smile as she immediately approached him.
“Chad, have you found a compatible heart for my Jada? Is it a perfect match?”
Cosmos Patel – Jada’s dad immediately held her hand as if to restrain her from saying more.
“You should call him Mr West? You should show some respect, Jenny,”.
Jennifer’s face turned white but quickly regained her composure as she lifted her chin with pride.
“Chad is our prospective son-in-law. We don’t need to be formal with him. Right, Chad?”
