Chapter 520: Come Get Your Pajamas
At that, Johnathan, who shared Yale's doubts, was silenced.
A party that, by this point, even with Nathanael gone, was all but devoid of its earlier merriment.
Myron Baron looked at me askance with downcast eyes, "Not afraid?"
"Not afraid."
I shook my head.
Subconsciously, it seemed, I wanted to believe that what Nathanael had said was true.
It was just a meal, that's all.
Myron Baron rubbed the top of my head, "Go inside, your cousin and the others are waiting."
"Good."
A few of us walked into the living room together and Jenny was busy asking, "Is everything okay?"
I don't blame her for worrying, but Yale had arranged for them to come in as soon as Nathanael arrived.
Anyone with eyes could see that something was wrong.
I smiled and walked over, "It's fine."
Isabelle slid off of Gwendolyn's body and, with her short little legs, walked over to me upside down and raised her little fleshy hands, "Hugs."
I smiled and bent down to pick her up.
Sergio let go of Jenny's hand and got up and walked over to Myron Baron, his voice warm, "If there's anything I can do to help, feel free to ask."
"Sure."
Myron Baron patted him on the shoulder.
The relationship between the two men, at this moment, appeared to be truly friends.
It was getting late, and after chatting in the living room for a while longer, everyone left one after another, and Myron Baron and Yale had something to do and went to the study.
I asked Jerome to walk Gwendolyn back, and when she left, Cecelia and Johnathan were the only ones left in the old mansion.
I walked back into the living room and smiled, "I had the maids prepare the guest room, why don't you guys stay and rest tonight?"
"Okay, sister-in-law."
Johnathan stood up idly and walked slowly up the stairs.
Cecelia glanced at him and gave him an uncharacteristic look.
Supposedly upset with Johnathan for telling me what happened again just now in the backyard.
I laughed, "It's fine, it's not good if he doesn't tell me and I'm kept in the dark instead."
Cecelia tossed her long, big wavy hair and got up, reaching out to drop a hand on my shoulder, "Myron Baron doesn't want you to have to deal with this, and besides, it wasn't supposed to be something you had to deal with."
"But I'm going to be his wife,"
I said as I walked up the stairs with her, "And since we're husband and wife, it doesn't make sense for him to face his suffering alone while I hide behind him and enjoy it."
Cecelia was silent for a few moments, before walking into the room, she sighed tersely and a smile lifted up on her lips, "I always said before that Myron Baron had a bad fate, growing up without even a real family member by his side. It turns out that I was wrong, God had long ago prepared you for him, and with you, he can be considered to be bitter sweet."
"He is also my kin."
Now, neither of us is alone.
He has me, and I, him.
Cecelia suddenly wrapped her arms around me in a false hug and admonished, "Be careful tomorrow."
"Yeah, I will."
When she heard my reply, she let go of me and prepared to go into her room.
I called out to her, "Sister Cecelia, I have something I might need to trouble you with."
She looked back and raised her eyebrows slightly, "What is it?"
"Do you know any better doctors? My cousin isn't in the best of health, having her uterus forcibly taken away from her earlier and left in a small hospital to care for her, it's had a big effect on her health, and I'd like to see if there's a doctor out there who can help take a look at it."
I didn't hesitate to put my thoughts into words.
Gwendolyn's body, a problem left over from the last time she had her uterus removed and lost a lot of blood, was a bit difficult to heal completely.
Cecelia wrapped her hands around her chest and leaned against the wall, frowning and thinking, suddenly her eyes lit up and she stood up straight, ''There is! I know a senior expert in this area, right in N City, you send me your cousin's contact information, I'll take her to have a look in these two days."
"Good!"
I was delighted, immediately took out my cell phone, pushed Gwendolyn's WeChat business card to her, and sent her cell phone number along with it, "I've sent you her WeChat and cell phone number, I'm counting on you for this matter."
"You're welcome, it's a small matter."
Cecelia waved her hand without any concern.
After resolving this matter, I felt a little more solid in my heart, and said a few more words to Cecelia before going back to the children's room to look at the two little ones.
Bella had just given them a bath, and both of them were rolling around on the bed, smelling good.
However, they were tired of playing with Yale after a long night with a large family.
After rolling on the bed for a couple of times, they fell asleep.
When they were asleep, I gingerly got up and went back to the bedroom.
Myron Baron happened to be coming out of the bathroom in his robe, his chest wide open and only casually belted, his hair wet, beads of water sliding down his soft black hair and falling vertically onto the man's athletic, broad chest, spreading down and hiding somewhere evocative.
"Where to look?"
Abruptly, the man's slightly playful voice interrupted my thoughts.
I violently closed my eyes, retracted my own line of sight as a thief, and then opened my eyes a little bit more, and sophistically argued, "Where did I look? I didn't look anywhere!"
The words paused and pushed him away, "I'm going to take a shower."
Saying this, he drilled headfirst into the bathroom.
Behind him, there was a muffled laugh of man's pleasure.
After taking a shower and drying the water droplets on my body with a bath towel, I remembered that I didn't take my pajamas.
Gritting my teeth in secret, thinking about what to do, there was a knock on the bathroom door.
"Come get your pajamas." Myron Baron's low, nice voice came in.
Through the mirror, which was tinted with a thin layer of water, I seemed to see my cheeks brush red, but reached out and unscrewed the door, poked out a hand, grabbed the clothes, and was about to retrieve them when a force grabbed my wrist violently.
The force casually released again just as I thought he was going to do something.
I withdrew my hand, dressed quickly, and stepped out of the bathroom to see the man standing straight in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his eyes falling in no particular direction.
I walked over to him, took him by the wrist, brought him to sit on the edge of the bed, and stroked his hair, "It's so wet, why don't you blow it out. With the air conditioning on, it's easy to get a headache like that."
When the words fell, he was ready to find a blow dryer.
The man suddenly reached out with his long hand and circled me into his arms, his voice a little muffled, "It's okay."
It was obvious to me that something was wrong with his mood.
In the evening after Nathanael left, he asked me if I was scared.
And I forgot to ask him if he was scared.
I reached out and hugged him tightly, rubbing his back and dropping my chin to the nape of his neck, "Myron Baron, are you worried?"
He didn't say anything, but, I could feel it very clearly.
Normally, he always looks like he can do anything, but, he has moments when he's scared.
He was afraid that something might happen to me if I went for this meal.
Like, me being taken away by Nathanael.
He suddenly let go of me, his eyes as bright as the stars of the late night, and spoke seriously, "Tomorrow, remember to have Jerome follow you every inch of the way, do you hear me?"
"I hear you."
I tried to reassure him, "I will be fine, Kashiwagoe Hotel, is your place."
I wondered if Nathanael chose Kashiwagoe Hotel on purpose because the only way Myron Baron and I could say yes was to go to a hotel owned by the Darin Group.
