Chapter 79—Epilogue

Astrid’s POV:

“Your husband’s here”

As I heard that voice, I quickly turned around. Noah. He was here.

“N-Noah?”

“Yes, Astrid”

I quickly turned to that nurse. “Did he… perform the operation… of my mom?”

“Yes, mam”

I looked back at him, and he was looking at me with a small smile.

“You… saved my mom?”

“Our mom”

I went to him. He looked at me intently.

He knelt down and I was taken back. I took a step back.

“Astrid”

I looked at him. “Get up!” I whispered as everyone looked at us.

“Astrid. I know I made many mistakes. Some, which I can’t even think of forgiving myself for. But today… I wanted to make some amends. Astrid, I love you and I want you to come back to me” he pulled out a ring and hesitantly extended it. “Will you?”

I kept a hand on my mouth as I started crying. Look at him. He… I know what he did… but he is here, not caring about the world, asking me to come back. He saved my mom and studied oncology for her.

I am blessed to have him.

“Yes.” I took the ring and he got up.

He came to me and kissed me for a brief moment. “I love you”

“I love you too”

He got away and I blushed.

“You forgave me?”

“Yes”

He smiled bigger.

“So, when will you meet our mom, doctor?” I asked sarcastically.

He smiled. “Just soon”

I smiled. “Yeah, good. I missed you, Noah”

“I missed you like hell too, Astrid”

I hugged him and we went out as we had already made everything really awkward.

“So, will you come back to our house now?” Noah asked me.

“I guess… yes”

“I will be so glad. That house is not a house without you”

“Have you been practicing dialogues?”

“Did you forget I was always good with words?”

I laughed. “Oh yeah, right”

I started moving slowly and he took my hand while moving along.

“I heard about your business that you are gonna start soon”

“Yeah…”

“I will help you”

“No need! You already have so much work. I will do it” I looked at him and smiled. “Just need you to love me. That is enough”

“I always loved you and will always continue to”

I blushed. “Ah, I really don’t want mom to know about this all”

“We will keep it a secret… now that we are back together”

“And never going separate ways ever again” I added.

He smiled. “Alright, let’s go back. Mom might be expecting us”

“Yeah”

We went back to the ward and met mom.

Mom was really happy to see Noah and we talked about a lot of things. Oh yeah! She even asked if we had a ‘baby’. I mean, like, seriously!

Well, it has been years, so it is okay if she asked, we told her that we are ‘working on it’. Ah, cringy lines.

Well, everything was returning back to normal. Noah was again looking at me with those love filled eyes which have always blessed my soul. Mom was happy to come back, and she was even happy that we love each other.

She doesn’t and will never know about the things that happened and it is good to forget about it. Noah is really sorry, and he is a human, and can make mistakes.

I know he is really sorry, and he deserves a second chance.

He told me what happened back then.

It’s just, I believed it this time. He didn’t kiss Charlotte because he loved her. I knew it was the truth then and there.

Maybe because I love him more than I ever did.

I was looking forward to starting a new daily with Noah when he asked me to let mom live with us. He said that she shouldn’t be alone, so it’s best if she could be with us.

Mom also promised that she will not disturb us. Well, whatever that means.

Noah told me that he was really glad to have me back. I was quite touched by the fact that he did it all for me. I mean, otherwise, other guys would just leave. Who would work hard to get someone back so badly?

Only Noah can be this selfless.

As we got home after mom was discharged and we decided to start our future, a new romance blossomed between us.

God, Noah is the most romantic man.

He loved me really well from that day ahead. I made sure my business worked well, and I brought my dad’s business up again. Noah’s career as a doctor also flourished.

Mom was fine after a few weeks, and she was as good as ever, but in a real need of a granddaughter and that’s what we gave her.

I got pregnant almost a few weeks after she got discharged. The news was too good to be true, but it was true.

I was finally really happy, and Noah showed me.

People can be really good.

People can still love truly.

He showed me.

True love exists.

And we are gonna love for the rest of our lives.
