Chapter 27 Regret

Chapter 27 Regret

"It's okay, if you love me only for what I have now, that's okay, Hana. Really! I don't care what your reasons are for loving me, because in this life I only want one thing: to be loved by you."

"Stupid, you shouldn't beg for a woman's love like this! Where is your dignity? I hate seeing you like this!"

Leo grabbed my hand, pushed me against the wall, and intimidated me with his gaze. His sharp, cold, and cruel gaze made me shudder.

I couldn't even break free from Leo's grip, which was now much stronger than his.

"So what do you want me to be like? Hmm? You want to play push\-pull, is that it? Is it that fun for you to play with my feelings? To make me feel like a stupid donkey who will always follow you meekly. Is that fun? Tell me! But you're right, Hana! There's no point in me being a good guy in your eyes. You're right, I can date, I can sleep with any woman I want. You want to play push\-pull, right? Okay, I'll play along!"

"Leo, I just—"

"What's the point of explaining it now? From now on, feel free to do whatever you want, have sex with whoever you want, and we can pretend I never heard any of that from you. But I want you to remember one thing. I swear, you'll be the one crying, begging me. You'll regret it, Hana!"

"Are you threatening me?"

"Yes, I am threatening you."

"You've really gone crazy!"

"Call me crazy, call me deranged! I'll be your worst nightmare! I'll be your hero, whether you like it or not!"

I combed my hair, feeling uneasy because Leo hadn't wanted to talk to me since yesterday. He wouldn't even let me out of the room before he returned. He seemed too busy to deal with anything dangerous.

"Call me crazy, call me sick! I'll be your worst nightmare! I'll be your hero, whether you like it or not!"

The words Leo said last night continued to haunt me. I never imagined he'd harbored feelings for me for so long, even when I only knew him as Leo, my wild and annoying co-star. So, how was I supposed to face Leo now?

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened, and Leo entered with a cold expression. I wanted to talk to him, but I was afraid.

"L-Leo, I think—"

"Do you want to go home?"

"Y-yeah, it's been five days now. I think Mr. Alex is starting to look for me. I haven't told him I'm here yet."

"I'll take you to the airport tomorrow, and you'll be home tomorrow! I'll also transfer two million dollars to your personal account," he said flatly. He looked different, and that made me even more uneasy.

"T-two million dollars? But that's too much!"

"Pay off all your remaining debts and use the rest to survive until you get a decent job. I will also ask Alex to delete all the films you are in, you don't need to worry and start a new life."

"Leo, I'm really sorry for everything I said yesterday. So please don't act like this!"

"This is who I was before I met you. I was just pretending to be silly Leo. But now I realize I can't act like that. I'm going to the casino tonight. Stay here; if you need anything, you can call the waiter."

"You won't invite me?"

"Why should I invite you? I'm going out with my girlfriend tonight. I'll be back tomorrow morning!"

"Your girlfriend?"

"Like you said, I can date any woman I want. I don't have to be with you!" He said firmly. I froze, unable to believe Leo would say such a thing.

I wanted to cry, but I was afraid it would make Leo even more arrogant.

"And what about me? What can I do while you're gone?"

"Why don't you try waiting for me? That is, if you can. But if not, you're free to go wherever you want. I won't try to stop you!" he said as he walked away.

I couldn't believe Leo was serious. His eyes, which had been gentle and sincere, had turned cold and frightening. He'd changed in an instant just because of that one stupid sentence I said last night.

I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I felt utterly stupid and hopeless.

I walked to the balcony and saw a car parked on the terrace. Leo got into it with his bodyguard. But before getting in, Leo glanced up as if he knew I was watching him from the balcony.

I expected Leo to at least smile at me. But instead, he just glanced at me, seemingly unconcerned. It made me realize that someone who claims to love you for so long will eventually change if they aren't appreciated.
