Chapter 414: Cast Out Demons

Zara’s POV…

Being in the same room as James wasn’t always a dauntless situation. He had a large personality, and the fact that he was an evil son of a bitch made his presence that more encroaching. While he unveiled his plans to me—his instructions—well, I paid complete and total attention, so I’d understand his intentions and what my role would be in bringing them to pass.

“What’s the plan then? You want me to set fire to the food factory once we get there?”

He looked at me a little aggressively, not liking the joke I had made or the sarcasm in my tone of delivery. He tutted and got even more serious. “The expansion day is only a few weeks away. I’ve been following the developments very closely. It will be extremely successful, that is if something isn’t done to slow things down. Today, we strike.”

“Get to the point, James,” I raised my voice.

“I have placed someone in the factory. They work there, and they’re going to sabotage the factory’s processes for today. Your job is to spot the problems that will for sure be present, and report them. You brought your camera along with you, right?”

“Yeah,” I shook it at him.

“Good! Take all the pictures you need. Put Jack on the spot as well, and when you take all your findings back to the network, make sure to have them report it all before the day of the project. Anything you can do to ruin things, make sure to do them. Do you understand me, Zara?”

I hesitated to respond and he didn’t like that. He took an intimidating step closer to me and I flinched a little bit—a dramatized flinch, but one nonetheless. “Yeah, I got it.”

“That’s good! It’s almost time to get going. I won’t be there with the rest of you. Which means you have to take charge of today’s mission. For today, you’re a news shark and everything that swims in front of you is simply prey. Don’t fail me.”

He turned to leave, and just as he reached the door, I called out to him. He turned, waiting for me to speak.

“You said someone will sabotage the factory. What does that actually mean? What should I be expecting?” I asked with a raised brow. I didn’t want to be surprised beyond what I would be able to stomach.

He smirked. “Don’t worry about it! When you see the smoke, you’ll know that there’s fire.”

His last statement got me uneasy. He noticed it! “Don’t worry. That was just a figure of speech. There won’t be an actual fire, but it’ll surely be chaotic.”

And with that, he left the room, leaving me all to myself.

“This man better not get me into trouble today. I swear to God that I’ll kill him if this affects me negatively.”

I took a deep breath, checked my watch and saw that it was almost time to get the tour started. I straightened out my dress and went out as well.

Malcolm’s POV…

The Lord spoke about certain signs that will accompany those who are truly his disciples. It is recorded in the book of Mark, and the sixteenth chapter. Let me quote the Lord. In verses seventeen and eighteen, it says:

"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Basically, Jesus stated that all those who believe in him shall be real-life superheroes, but having no power of their own and it all coming directly from the unquenchable source—his name!

For now, I want to place emphasis on the first sign written in the texts.

Mankind has no power of our own. We’re not chaos creatures, nor do we command any of the celestial bodies of the universe. None of it is ours to command or control. So, what makes us so special if we aren’t even in the top ten of the most powerful of God’s vast creations?

That’s a simple question to answer. We may not have POWER, but we do have powerful souls whose energy can be extracted, absorbed and released. And for that soulful energy to be used by any other being, that being needs our AUTHORITY first to do so. So, we have no power but we can give the authority of our vessels to other beings with power, and they would be able to collaborate with us. We own the vehicle and its engine, but the other beings carry the fuel that can run it.

“You’re not going to chain me up and starve me out the way you did last time, right?”

I laughed after she said this. We moved further within the house, and I decided to help calm her nerves. “I wanted us to do this in the privacy of my prayer room, but now I have a different idea. Come…”

I decided to take her outside. There was more space, more freedom, less restriction and more wind. She would certainly feel more comfortable while we worked on getting out what was inside her. My compound had many gazebos in it, and I chose the most intimate one for us to use.

I ushered her in and offered her a seat. She took it. And just stared at me, looking just as worried as a cat that knew it would soon be put in the bath. I had to help her relax before we got started. It was the only way to help her faith.

“Today won’t be anything like that day, Kendra. That day, I was the one who came to you in your desperate time of need and I forced your deliverance. It lasted a while, but lo, your chains have returned.”

She shook her head. “Meaning?”

“This time, you came to me of your own accord, which means you will be delivered…”
