Chapter 20: One Night Stand
Dana POV:
Where am I?
I lift off my surprisingly tired body from the unfamiliar bed it laid on as my eyes still struggled to function properly.
Where the fuck is this place? I wonder to myself, looking around the bed and realizing that I was all alone it. I push my hands through my head, trying hard to recall how and why I'm waking up in a strange bed and how come I'm all by myself.
As soon as the memories from last night start to hit me slowly, I let out a loud gasp of surprise. I still cannot believe I actually spent the entire night together with the hot dude from last night, whose name I sadly can't remember.
I look around for my clothes as soon as I realize I was sitting butt naked on the bed with only the duvet wrapped around my body. When I finally spot them, they had been neatly arranged on the sofa opposite the bed. Seeing that he had even arranged both my bra and panties on top of my folded dress made me feel even more embarrassed and exposed.
It's even more embarrassing that I woke up in an empty bed because if my memory serves me correctly, this is his hotel room. I should have been the one leaving and not him. I figure he's probably not the type of person who’s interested in the awkward conversations that happen the morning after a one-night stand. It that’s it, then I'm grateful that he left first because I also hate awkward conversations.
I get up from the bed after confirming that I was by myself and slowly moved towards where my clothes were. Out of curiosity, I take my time to take a look at the room and that was when I realized that it wasn't just any room in a hotel, it's actually a freaking penthouse and judging from how everything looks, I'm pretty sure this is one of the most expensive rooms in the entire hotel.
I let out a tired sigh as I contemplate on whether or not to take a shower before leaving. After a few minutes of careful consideration, I decide to go ahead and shower since I did have a pretty long night with a strange man, and we did sweat a whole lot so leaving the place without cleaning up would definitely be the wrong thing to do. Thankfully, there's no one here so I can just hurry things and get out of here before he gets back.
I lazily drag my naked self towards the bathroom and the minute I open the door, my entire being froze for the first 60 seconds as my eyes meet with the naked body of stranger man from last night.
"Holy shit!" I yell out in shock, quickly looking away from him and staring at anything else but him.
"I-I'm so s-sorry. I didn't mean to w-walk in on you. Didn't realize anyone was in here," I stutter an apology, trying hard not to meet his eyes but failing woefully when my brown orbs meet his deep gray eyes and for a while, I'm actually confused.
You mean to tell me that I actually slept with THIS man? This good-looking hunk that looks straight out of an underwear photoshoot. I actually slept with him. What's with me and meeting the good-looking kind of men nowadays? I never used to meet the good ones before I met Blake.
"Aren't you gonna say anything? Are you embarrassed? Should I excuse you?" I ask nervously when he doesn't say anything but instead just kept staring at me like I had grown another.
"Relax yourself. I'm not embarrassed. Just surprised you're still here," he replies in his sexy, husky voice that made me question my luck with men once again. I used to think the bad ones were all I'd ever get to meet but boy oh boy was I very wrong.
"So, you want me to leave?" I drawl, not surprised that he didn't want me around but somehow disappointed by the fact that he wasn't even trying to be subtle about it. Does he think I'm a whore or something? The fuck!
"I didn't mean it that way, miss Dana. I just didn't think you'd even bother staying to take a shower. Most of the time, I always come back to an empty bedroom so it's just surprising that you actually chose to take a shower first," he says in a tone that sounded like he was genuinely surprised but in the good way.
"I think I get you, but I actually had no idea you were in here else I'd have left as well so, I'm not any better than the usual bolters," I tell him honestly and he simply nods with a straight look on his face.
"I'm not sure whether or not you're aware of this but miss, y-you're actually not wearing any clothes," he says, stuttering the last part out and I let out a loud gasp as a realization of horror dawns on me.
"Why the fuck are you just saying this!" I yell furiously, immediately running out of the bathroom and shutting the door very quickly. I bury my face in my hands as the embarrassment slowly starts to hit me.
"I need to get out of here," I mutter to myself, shoving the idea of taking a bath away and getting dressed as quickly as I could.
"Miss, are you dressed now?" he asks from behind the bathroom door.
"No, not yet. Give me a few minutes," I reply in a slightly louder voice, throwing my dress on as quickly as I could before tying my messy hair in a bun.
"You can come out now," I say to him and the minute he walks out with his towel barely hanging on his waist, I let out a heavy sigh.
"You're leaving already? Thought you wanted to shower?" he asks.
"I...I changed my mind already. I'd much rather leave," I say to him, and this was the awkward conversation I talked about earlier. I absolutely detest it.
"Alright then, take care of yourself miss," he simply replies with an unreadable expression on his face, and I know this was my cue to leave but for some weird reason, I said something I didn't think I would say in my right mind.
"Uhm, thanks," I mutter, and he stares back at me, obviously just as confused as I was and out of embarrassment, I pick my purse and literally ran out the door without bothering to look back even once.
I let out a sigh of relief as soon as I'm out of the hotel and turns out, I wasn't wrong about the room I was in. It was a penthouse like I suspected and I'm pretty sure it costs a heavy fortune that would probably give me a migraine if the pay had come out of my pocket. No amount of money would ever get me used to buying the priciest things and not thinking thoroughly about it.
I stop the nearest cab I could find and bring out my phone to check if I had any messages from anyone. As expected, I did get several messages from Samantha but the last person I expected to actually check up on me was him. The very man whose face I'm trying to get out of my dream. I click open his message and the minute I read it out, something in me flips and I'm sent back to where I was before last night.
I guess Sam wasn't right after all. Sex definitely isn't the solution to my problem and even if it is, it wouldn't be with just anyone.
