Chapter 109

Bianca leaned on the wall. Hours already elapsed, and she hadn't heard of Alpha's voice near the room or his order. She wept throughout the night, trying to figure out how it all happened exactly, but she couldn't figure out anything.

Her mind was clouded by the thoughts of the poisoning. She wasn't at rest.

As she recalled Evelyn's actions before Don, she realized she had been sharing her secrets with an enemy.

She wiped the tears on her cheeks. "She had all the contacts and knew everything. Was she waiting for me to get rid of Elena so she could turn to my enemy?" she shut her eyes, recalling how Evelyn had been acting recently since after the death of Lena. "She has an evil motive towards me but kept it hidden so I'd be done getting rid of the obstacle, huh? That bitch is liable to expose me if time isn't taken."

After a long thought, she decided to keep mute and wait for Alpha's next decision towards her. She believed that the ministers that she had been feeding with bribes wouldn't hear of her being under house arrest and be calm. They would surely talk to Alpha about it.

A crack on the door pulled her attention. It opened and her meal was pushed into the room, but she was unable to see who it was that served the meal.

She took them and sat back, recoiled her legs.

Before anything, she needs strength. It's good that she wasn't to be starved, then it means she would soon be released.

Thanks to the Alpha for having an antidote with him or she would be executed for murdering the Alpha King of the Pack.

When she was done with the meal, she relaxed on the wall, her eyes darting around every corner of the room. "Evelyn must have poisoned any of the ingredients I used to cook that meal. But, I can't do anything since I don't have proof." she snorted and shook her head.

Being in this state was one thing she didn't expect.

The sun set and the Ministers were all gathered in the hall chamber. The news had reached their ears that Bianca was arrested and they wouldn't sit back and such a thing happened even though they knew she was a suspect in the poisoning.

Alpha Dante walked into the room. He already knew why they were gathered and was ready to speak his mind to them.

Since the death of Elena, he had been acting too calm to everyone while battling to get over the past and focus on the future-but it was kinda uneasy for him to accomplish.

He got seated on his throne, facing the Ministers. "I won't go through the files, just tell me why you all are here."

The Chief Minister cleared his throat and bowed to him. "We got the news that your first rank consort was arrested indoors as a suspect in your poisoning."

Alpha shook his head. "She was the culprit and not a suspect because she prepared the meal herself. So, what should I do with it?"

"It would be better to find the real culprit since we all know she can't do that. She's taking care of the inner court and wishes that she bears you an heir-I'm kinda certain that someone must have done that to the meal. We request a thorough investigation in this case." the Minister stepped backward.

Alpha supported his jaw with his palm. "Anyone else have anything to say?"

They glanced at each other but said nothing.

"Then I will say this. Since you all agree and think she's just a suspect and that there must be a hidden culprit behind it, I will hand it over to you all to find the culprit within seven days." he paused and swallowed hard. "Second, have it in mind that the throne doesn't need an heir from her any longer, and she is demoted from the first rank consort to just a Mistress."

That was unexpected. Hearing those declarations was something they never thought of Alpha doing.

To them, he went too far….. but, the decision was already taken and nothing will change it.

"Guards, release Bianca!!!" he ordered and stood from his seat. "I hope everything is resolved." he descended from his throne and vacated the hall chamber.

The Ministers were still talking about the issue and he left the hall back to his room. His heart was so heavy, so he needed to rest.

The Ministers were still in the hall when Bianca was brought out. The first thing she did was to step into the hall chamber to show how grateful she was that the Ministers helped her to be released.

She was told of her demotion and she accepted it since she wasn't banished at all.

Back to her room, she curled her legs up on the bed-her gaze affixed to the floor. She didn't want to sob over her demotion because she believed it was better than being cast out of the palace.

As it stands, she was now a Mistress just like Evelyn, and since she was sure Evelyn was the cause, she would have nothing to lose again while fighting her.

Now that she lost Alpha and her child isn't needed as heir, she will see to it that Evelyn regrets ever faking to be concerned towards her. Even if she is banished in the end, she would make sure to see that Evelyn pays for what she caused her.

"You are not allowed in here…." a voice from the doorpost drew her attention.

She lifted her face. "Allow her!!" she ordered, sensing that it was Evelyn. As she strode into the room, an irritating smirk stretched her lips apart. "What brings you into my room?"

Evelyn burst into laughter and got seated. "How fun it is to have you as a Mistress now. I have no reason to bow to you since we are now on the same level."

"What does that mean?" Bianca retorted, her face twisted.

She already understood that Evelyn came to make fun of her.

"Well, congrats on your new title, as well as getting ready to face my wrath." Evelyn snapped and frowned. "I will make sure I do to you what you did to Lena!!!" she added and arched her brows.

Bianca sneered.
