Chapter 25
Lumiria walked back to Vinicius and his mother, both entertained in a very curious story. She looked very thrilled.
"... And your father got really bad with this. Besides, his spit got many ants, I got really worried with this. Your sister and I even speculated it might be a sign of diabetes," she shared animatedly.
"Yeah. I can't disagree with this. He's too stubborn about food." Vinicius murmured, his expression a mix of unreadable emotions, tinged with hints of worry and stress.
"And then there's the river, my son," she added with a sad tone, quickly followed by a burst of laughter and a playful slap on his shoulder.
He rolled his eyes.
"The river, I know. That's not why I hesitated not to go, ok?" his tone took on a playful edge
His mother arched her head in chuckled..
Ok, what's the issue with the river?
"Anyway, I really wanted to have lunch here with you. We brought some good food from the camping, ok? You're gonna love the fish and..."
"I have to walk Lumiria home." Vinicius interjected, gently extricating himself from his mother's grasp.
She caught his arms.
"Oh, invite her for lunch, please, She's gonna love this."
Oh, I wish.
"Oh, that's a pity. Lumiria, sis, it's a pleasure to have you in our gym. I hope you come to visit us later. Are you sure you don't want to stay for lunch?"
"I want to stay. But my monitor is waiting for me right now for the reports of my job. Sorry." She holded her hand out to Lumiria, both of them, which seemed something very warm and beautiful, especially with the glowing in her eyes. The gesture felt warm and sincere, accentuated by the twinkle in her eyes. Lumiria admired Vinicius's mother's strong spirit and had hoped to spend more time with her.
Vinicius turned to Lumiria.
"Let's go. It's getting late."
His mother was escorted by her husband who was inside the house organizing some bags and came back to take from his wife's.
When she looked back to Vinicius, there was something dark in his eyes.
"Just now I thought it's really weird o have signal in Above Word."
Lumiria smiled.
"There's a very simple explanation for this.
"What happened?
"What?"
"I saw the way you looked to me and my mom. I've never seen you like this."
Oh, Vinicius Sabino is sincerely worried about me. How can I deal with this?
"I just... Thought I remembered something. Never mind.”
He swifted his look on her both eyes, trying to take something.
“Come?" she said.
He sighed.
"Think about our agreement. We'll discuss better about this later. Maybe I can help you better than you think"
"You really sure about this?"
"You would be surprise of how sure I can"
She giggled.
"You'd be surprised with what you could help me"
"I can accept a challenge if this may get me what I want."
"Uh, ok." she slapped his abs "We'll see about that."
As they walked away, Lumiria sensed that Vinicius still had something on his mind. Ever since she had appeared in her capoeira attire, there had been a noticeable change in his demeanor. She wore a snug blue capoeira top and silver pants, her hair pulled back in a ponytail. For a moment, she felt like an ordinary girl from Earth, immersed in the routines of human life, yet simultaneously exuding strength and bravery in her uniform. Vinicius's gaze lingered on her, his expression contemplative.
He thought she was so stunning and brave in that uniform. She glanced her while walking beside her, she seemed thoughtfull.
She felt like he didn't know what was happening to him, Just that moment, going thought those weekends, he realised.
"I think my mother wants to see you so hard on capoeira training" she smelled some shyness on his words.
"Really? I hope the sadistic thing ins't in the family blood"
He chuckled.
"She noticed."
"What?"
He took a moment, like he wanted to avoid saying everything in all words, but he didn’t want to have no answer as well.
"She realised I was seeing you like a girl, not a bag of punch."
"Is that so strange?"
"They’ve always seen me as odd and inscrutable."
"Not even the girl from your paintings?" Lumiria probed.
He sighed.
"They really respected of what I do in private. They feel they can never touch those paintings.
OH.
"Lumiria, it's been so many first times for me. You're very unexpected and new, but I am not afraid of... keeping... the curiosity of training a sucubbus.
After a moment trying to contain the truth, he stepped in front of her.
"I've never... I've never been intimate with anyone. I've never allowed someone else to control my desires or seen myself in such a vulnerable light. I've never taken a girl on a ferris wheel, or appreciated K-pop through someone else's eyes. I'm trying to comprehend what's happening between us, and I'm not afraid."
Vinicus Sabino has some problems of using direct words.
Her eyes were kind of wide-open is surprise. He really struggled and was kind of red trying to articulate his feelings directly.
“ooook.” She turned, acting like it was a very weird situation. “We can go through different ways from here”
She blinked, watching her seriously.
“I bring back your clothes.”
The bit his lips, think over.
Her chest got bigger trying to breath. This is moment to confirm I need to bring the clothes so I can see you again.
“You can keep the clothes.”
Oh
“So I can see you in my class”
Lumiria gasped softly, her smile faltering momentarily, unable to conceal her surprise.
“Turn around, Vinicius.”
He shook his head stubbornly.
“Turn around, soldier.”
“No, I want to see you going. What are you going to do? Are you going to sprout the wings and fly away? I didn’t know you could already fly. Or you’re going to open some portal to hell.”
She narrowed her eyes, a challenge flashing in her gaze.
He arched an eyebrow, challenging her to have some attitude.
She grabbed his shirt and pressed his lips hard. And when he was about to hold her hips, some twirl of leafs attacked him, making him to lift his elbows for protection.
“Oh, ok, you have to hide your secret portal….” He blinked, confused.
She was still running, seeming to recover from a stumble in a disastrous attempt to hide from him and just reached the corner of the street when the twirl stopped. He laughed, shaking his head and heading back to the gym.
