Chapter 251

MALIA'S POV

The ceremonial dagger glinted in the candlelight as Ethan—the real Ethan, back in his own body—drew it across his palm. Our blood mingled, warm and electric where our palms pressed together.

"Bound for eternity," I whispered, the ritual words flowing naturally. "Two souls as one."

Light bloomed where our blood joined, spreading up our arms in glowing tendrils that wrapped around us like living vines. I could feel him—not just physically, but deeper, his essence touching mine in places I hadn't known existed within me.

"It is done," the Priestess announced, satisfaction evident in her voice. "The Blood Bond is complete."

Relief washed through me, so profound I sagged against Ethan's chest. After everything—the interrupted wedding, the revelation of Sebastian and Ethan's body swap, Ria's betrayal—we had finally succeeded. We were bound, truly and irrevocably.

"How do you feel?" Ethan asked, his fingers tracing the new markings on my arm.

"Complete," I answered honestly. "Like a piece of me that was missing has finally clicked into place."

Sebastian approached, his expression unreadable as always, but something like approval glinted in his ash-gray eyes. "Congratulations," he said formally. "The bond appears stable and strong."

"Thanks to you," Ethan acknowledged, extending his free hand to his brother. "If you hadn't taken my place at the wedding—"

"Let's not revisit that particular nightmare," Sebastian interrupted, though he clasped Ethan's hand briefly.

"Speaking of nightmares," Heaven interjected, stepping forward with a grace that belied her warrior's strength. "Ria has been dealt with."

A chill ran through me at her tone. "Dealt with how?"

Heaven's smile was all predator. "She made the mistake of returning to the estate, thinking to finish what she started. Sebastian sensed her presence immediately."

"She didn't suffer," Sebastian said, though his expression suggested he might have preferred otherwise. "A clean death, more merciful than she deserved."

I nodded, trying to process everything. The ritual complete, Ria dead, Ethan's powers returning... it felt almost too good to be true after the chaos of the past days.

"What about..." I gestured vaguely between Ethan and Sebastian. "The body swap. I thought it was supposed to last two days?"

"That's the most fascinating part," Elena said, joining our small circle. My mother looked exhausted but triumphant, her research notes clutched in one hand. "The Blood Bond seems to have accelerated the reversal process. Instead of two days, it took only minutes for their consciousnesses to return to their original bodies."

"Minutes?" I echoed, stunned. "But how—"

"The bond recognized Ethan's true essence," Elena explained. "It pulled him back to his rightful form so it could complete properly."

Ethan turned to me, his expression growing serious. "Malia, I need to go to the city. Gideon's forces are still gathering, and with my powers returning, this is our best chance to stop the attack before it begins."

Fear clutched at my heart. "You want to confront them? Now? But you're still recovering, the bond is new—"

"Which is precisely why this is the perfect moment," Sebastian interrupted. "They believe Ethan powerless, the wedding disrupted, our forces in disarray. They won't be expecting a counterattack."

"I want you to come with me," Ethan said, his eyes never leaving mine. "The bond is strongest when we're together, and your Nexus abilities could prove crucial."

I hesitated, torn between the desire to stay by his side and the fear of what awaited us in the city. "Are you sure it's safe?"

"No," he admitted with characteristic honesty. "But it's necessary. And I'll protect you with my life."

"As will I," Sebastian added unexpectedly. "The three of us together should be more than a match for whatever Gideon has planned."

I looked between them—these powerful, dangerous men who had become my family in the strangest of ways—and found my resolve strengthening. "Alright," I agreed. "When do we leave?"

"Within the hour," Ethan replied. "Just enough time to prepare."

Three days later, I lay curled against Ethan's chest, watching sunlight stream through the windows of our private chambers. The confrontation in the city had been swift and decisive—Ethan's restored powers, combined with Sebastian's strategic brilliance and my Nexus abilities, had overwhelmed Gideon's forces before they could mount a proper defense.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Ethan had insisted on returning to the estate, on focusing solely on us and our newly formed bond. True to his word, he had refused to allow me to do anything during our stay—no meetings, no duties, no responsibilities beyond simply being together.

"Hungry?" he asked, pressing a kiss to my temple.

"Mmm," I murmured, not wanting to move from the comfortable nest we'd created. "A little."

"Stay here," he said, disentangling himself from our embrace. "I'll make you something."

I watched in amazement as he moved to the small kitchenette that adjoined our bedroom, his naked form a study in masculine perfection. "I still can't believe you cook," I said, propping myself up on one elbow.

"One of my many hidden talents," he replied with a wink, gathering ingredients with efficient grace. "When you've lived as long as I have, you pick up a few skills along the way."

"What else don't I know about you?" I asked, genuinely curious.

His smile turned wicked. "Many things. But we have eternity for you to discover them all."

Eternity. The word still felt strange, impossible, despite the bond that now linked us. I would age more slowly than a normal human because of my Nexus nature, but eventually, I would have died while Ethan remained unchanged. Now, with the Blood Bond complete, my lifespan would match his—centuries stretching before us.

"What are you thinking?" Ethan asked, his eyes on me as he worked, the bond allowing him to sense the shift in my emotions.

"About time," I admitted. "About having so much of it with you."

He abandoned his cooking then, moving back to the bed with vampire speed. His kiss was gentle at first, then increasingly urgent as the bond flared between us, amplifying every sensation, every emotion.

"The food will burn," I murmured against his lips, though I made no move to pull away.

"Let it," he growled, his hands already moving beneath the sheet that barely covered me. "I find I'm hungry for something else entirely."

His touch was electric, sending waves of pleasure through me that were intensified by the bond. Every caress, every kiss felt deeper, more intimate than anything we had shared before.

"Ethan," I breathed, my body arching toward his. "Please."

He needed no further encouragement. With a growl that vibrated through his chest, he claimed me completely, our bodies joining as our souls had during the Blood Bond ritual.

"Mine," he whispered against my throat, his fangs grazing the sensitive skin there. "Forever."

"Yours," I agreed, surrendering to the pleasure that built between us, amplified by the bond until it was almost too much to bear. "Always yours."

We lost ourselves in each other then, the outside world forgotten as we explored this new dimension of our connection. Hours passed, day turning to night and back to day again, as Ethan made good on his promise to focus solely on me, on us, on the bond that had transformed us both.

He cooked for me when hunger finally drove us from bed, simple but delicious meals that revealed yet another facet of this complex man I had married. We ate together, talked, laughed, made love again and again, the bond growing stronger with each passing hour.

"I could stay here forever," I murmured, curled against his chest as sunlight streamed through the windows. "Just like this."

"We could," he agreed, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on my bare shoulder. "I am the king, after all. Who would dare disturb us?"

I laughed, the sound free and unrestrained in a way it hadn't been since before the wedding attack. "The entire vampire council, probably. Don't they need their king for something?"

"They can wait," Ethan said firmly, pulling me closer. "I've given Sebastian temporary authority to handle any emergencies. For now, my only duty is to you."

"Is that what this is?" I teased, pressing a kiss to his chest. "Duty?"

His eyes darkened with desire as he rolled me beneath him. "Allow me to demonstrate just how seriously I take my responsibilities," he murmured, his lips finding mine once more.

And as we lost ourselves in each other again, as the bond flared between us with renewed intensity, I surrendered to the moment, to the love that had defied every obstacle placed in its path. The future would come soon enough, with all its challenges and opportunities. For now, this was enough—this man, this bond, this promise of forever.

More than enough. Everything.
