Chapter 180 Chapter One Hundred and Eighty
Chapter 180 Chapter One Hundred and Eighty
"Are you okay?" She asks, catching me completely by surprise.
"I umm- yeah. I am okay." I say, stumbling over my words. I didn't know what to expect, but that would have been the last thing on the list.
She gives me a small smile and goes to the sink, wetting a paper towel and wringing it out. She walks back over to me and hands me the damp paper towel. "You have a little bit of blood on your mouth sweetie."
"Thank you." I say, as I take the paper towel from her. I reach up and wipe at my mouth, hissing in pain when the cloth hits the busted part. I didn't even realize my lip was busted until she said something.
"Did Evan do that to you?" She asks.
I nod my head. "Yeah, he did. It's alright though. I deserved it."
"You didn't deserve it honey. Evan has every right to be mad, but that doesn't give him the right to hit you." She says.
I shrug. "It's alright. I just hope for Erin's sake he gets over it quickly."
"Me too. Those two have always been very close. I knew this would be hard on both of them, at least for a little while. I don't think they can stay mad at each other for long though." She says, giving me a reassuring smile.
Erin comes back in the kitchen, her cheeks are a little splotchy, but she isn't crying anymore so I guess that's a pretty good sign. "Are you guys hungry?" Her mom asks, looking between the two of us.
"No, I'm okay." I say. I don't really have much of an appetite, especially not now. I hurt my best friend and even though their mom thinks he will get over it, I know him. He will hate me for a very long time if not forever. Erin on the other hand, he might forgive her soon. Hopefully.
Erin shakes her head. "No, I feel sick to my stomach."
"That's just from stress and being upset. You will feel better in a little bit." Her mom says.
"You ready to go to school?" I ask, looking at Erin.
She forces a smile. "Not really, but I guess so."
"You guys have a good day today. Don't worry about Evan. He will come around." Her mom says, as she gives Erin a hug.
"Bye mom." Erin says.
"Bye Mrs. Riley." I say, as I take Erin's hand and lead her out to my car. I know her mom told me to call her by her first name, but that's just weird to me. Maybe someday when me and Erin are married I will call her by her first name, but not right now.
I open the door for Erin and she gets in, that's when I notice her looking at the house. Evan walks out of the house, glaring at me like he is trying to set my head on fire with his eyes. "Do you need a ride to school?" I ask, as I go around to my side.
"I don't need a fucking thing from you." He snaps. "Braxton is coming to get me."
I nod my head. Well at least I tried. "Okay. See you at school." I say, as I get in and pull out of the driveway.
Erin looks extremely stressed. I know she isn't used to having this kind to fight with Evan. Normally their fights are over simple, meaningless stuff. Not fights that could change their relationship forever.
I reach over and take Erin's hand. "Don't worry baby, Evan will forgive you and then you two will be back to normal in no time." I say, trying to make her feel better.
"It will probably be a while before we are back to normal." She says, and I can hear the sadness in her voice. I wish there was something I could say or do to make her feel better.
"Do you regret telling him?" I ask, hoping she doesn't. I wouldn't be mad if she did though.
Erin squeezes my hand. "No, not at all. I want to be with you Keaton. We were never going to be fully happy together until we told him. Now we don't have to hide our relationship and we can just be together. It doesn't matter who knows now." She says.
A rush of relief goes through me. "I don't regret it either. I would do anything to be with you Erin. I want everyone to know we are together." I say, as I bring her hand up to my mouth and kiss the back of it.
I glance over at her, there is a genuine smile on her face now. "Everyone at school will know today. I'm sure Evan will tell everyone what horrible people we are and anyone he doesn't tell will hear it from someone else." She says.
"We are not horrible people he is just a dick sometimes." I say.
Erin laughs. "Don't you mean all the time?"
I laugh. "I was trying to be nice."
"Screw being nice. If he wants to be a dick then we should too." Erin says.
"Sounds good to me baby." I say, laughing.
When we get to the school I park in my normal spot and turn to look at her. "Are you ready for this baby?" I ask.
Erin looks over at me and smiles."Yeah, I wish we were done with school already though."
"Me too. Not much longer and we will be graduating." I say, smiling at her.
"I know. I can't wait for college. It's going to be great." She says.
I'm not ready for college just yet, but I am ready to get out of highschool. I lean over and give her a quick kiss. "Let's go get today over with. Then I will take your sexy ass home and we can just cuddle for the rest of the day." I say, smiling at her.
"That sounds perfect."
I smile and get out, going around to her side to open the door for her. She takes my hand and the two of us walk towards the school.
"Everyone is stay at us." She whispers, looking up at me.
"Because you are so damn beautiful." I say, winking at her.
Erin rolls her eyes, giggling. "Whatever. They are probably wondering why you would even want to be with me."
"If that's what they are wondering, all they have to do is ask. I can give them a million reasons why I want to be with you. Starting with how beautiful you are." I say, smiling at her.
Erin's cheeks turn a cute shade of pink. "You are so cheesy sometimes." She whispers, smiling.
"Yes I am and you love it."
She nods her head. "Yes I do."
