Broken Heart

All their friends knew Camilla Learmond was totally smitten with Leopold Wipere.

She was so into him that she basically had no life of her own, no personal space, and wished she could spend every single second of the day with him.

Every time they split, she'd come crawling back within three days, begging to get back together.

Anyone else might say "break up," but not Camilla.

That day was the birthday bash for Camilla's good friend, Oliver Johnson.

No one saw it coming when Leopold showed up with his new girl.

When Leopold rolled in with his new chick, Amara Scott, the party went dead silent, and all eyes were on Camilla.

After all, Camilla was supposed to be Leopold's girl!

Camilla stopped peeling a tangerine, forcing a smile. "Why's everyone so quiet? Why you all staring at me?"

"Camilla." Her friends shot her worried looks.

Everyone knew how head over heels Camilla was for Leopold, and now that he brought another girl to the party, she had to be crushed.

Leopold, though, didn't give a damn about Camilla's feelings. He cozied up to Amara, plopped down on the couch, and ignored Camilla as he said to Oliver, "Happy birthday, Oliver."

He was so brazen about it, acting as if nothing had happened.

Camilla didn't lose her cool; it was Oliver's birthday, and she didn't want to cause a scene.

She got up to leave. "I'm hitting the restroom."

Camilla hadn't gone far when she heard voices behind her, "Leopold, Camilla's here. Didn't I tell you beforehand? Why did you still bring your new girl?"

"Seriously, Leopold, this is too much."

"Whatever." Leopold looked totally unfazed. He let go of Amara's slim waist and lit a cigarette.

In the rising smoke, he grinned, like a player who thought life was just a game.

Camilla calmly finished in the restroom. While touching up her makeup, she looked at herself in the mirror and gave a bitter smile.

Leopold didn't care about her at all, didn't care about her feelings, so why should she keep loving him?

It was time to end things with Leopold!

Camilla took a deep breath and made up her mind.

When Camilla got back to the party, she saw something that made her heart sink even more.

Right then, Leopold was making out with his new girl, Amara, in front of everyone.

Camilla felt a sharp pain. Was this the guy she had loved for six years?

At that moment, it all just felt like a cruel joke.

"Camilla's back," someone whispered.

Everyone turned to look.

Someone started to explain, "Camilla, don't sweat it. Leopold's just messing around with this chick; he still loves you..."

Leopold cut in, looking at Camilla. "Since everyone's here, I'll just say it."

"Camilla, I'm done with us. I don't love you anymore. Let's break up!"

Camilla clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms, but she didn't seem to feel any pain.

Six years of love, and it ended with "I don't love you anymore. Let's break up."

Leopold turned to his new girl and said, "Amara's a great girl. I want to marry her!"

Camilla nodded numbly. "Okay."

"Even though we're breaking up, we can still be friends. If you ever need anything, you can still come to me," Leopold said.

"No need," Camilla forced a smile. "Since we're breaking up, let's not contact each other anymore. It's only fair to your new girl."

Leopold raised an eyebrow, looking a bit surprised. Based on what he knew about Camilla, she should be begging him not to break up. Why was she so calm?
