Chapter 43: The Queen Wolf Dragon (3)

❤️ The Queen Wolf Dragon (3) ❤️

Queen Ashani’s Palace:

Dika glared at Vyrelen with everything in her, her hands clenched into fists at her sides. In a flash, she slammed her palm down on the table so hard that the wood groaned under the impact. The table didn’t break, but the force of her anger was clear. She then pointed one of her fingers at Vyrelen, her eyes burning with fury.

"I only did that to win so I could see my friend, which you and your useless guards at the gate refused to let me do," Dika spat, her teeth gritted. "What did you expect me to do at the last minute? Let your ugly ass win?" She scoffed, shaking her head.

Vyrelen’s grin faded. His expression turned dark, his jaw tightening as he slammed his hand against the table. Unlike Dika’s hit, his strike shattered the wood into pieces, sending plates and cups crashing to the floor.

"Did I ask to be kissed?" Vyrelen bellowed. "I was minding my own business, humoring you in that pathetic excuse of a fight, and then you—" he pointed at her in anger "—decided to kiss me. You had dirty thoughts of kissing me from the onset, and now you want to back out? Well, too late for you, because there is no backing out." He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself before adding, "And for your information, my ass is not ugly."

Dika didn’t even flinch. She stepped up onto the broken remains of the table and marched toward him, eyes locked on his. "I. Will. Kill. You," she said in a low, deadly voice. "And I’m saying no to whatever stupid tradition you think binds me to you."

Vyrelen let out a humorless chuckle. "If you hadn’t kissed me, we wouldn’t be having this problem, would we? You took advantage of me. The way I see it, your type could probably molest me in my sleep." His grin turned mocking. "And my tradition is not stupid, it's the rules of the Amazon that you keep saying at every five minutes is the stupid one."

"You—" Dika started, fists tightening.

"That's enough, both of you," Queen Ashani interrupted, though amusement danced in her eyes as she watched them.

Vyrelen turned to the Queen with a respectful nod, though his expression remained firm. "I don’t care if you accept me as your son-in-law or not, my Queen. You can ask the Emperor himself, he knows what this means because he is my family," Vyrelen stated. "I’m only respecting you, so talk to your daughter, because this is the good side of me. You don't want to bring out the bad side of me, You and I both know why the Nightweavers are so rare to see." he concluded and then bowed a little at Queen Ashani.

He then turned back to Dika, his grin returning, sharp and taunting. "I’ll see you soon, my angry goddess."

"You will see yourself in hell, not me," Dika snapped.

Vyrelen’s grin only widened. Shadows swirled around him, and in the next instant, he was gone.

Nyxoria's Dream: The Ruins:

They appeared in an unfamiliar place, and Nyxoria took a moment to steady her feet. She turned slowly, taking in their surroundings. They were inside what looked like the remains of an abandoned home. The walls were cracked, covered in vines, and parts of the structure had crumbled away. There was no roof, only the open sky above, allowing the moonlight to spill in and illuminate the space with a soft, eerie glow.

But then Nyxoria gasped out loudly in shock as she saw something which prompted her to slowly look at the house again until her gaze landed on what she had just seen, before it moved to the veil woman standing close to her.

Nyxoria swallowed hard. "This was once a palace. This is a throne room." It wasn't a question as she walked further until she stopped at what caught her attention. It was a skeleton seated on a throne chair. It was a woman skeleton and Nyxoria knew that the skeleton was a queen because of the old faded, tattered gown that still clung to the skeletal frame. The way the body was positioned, the way the bones rested, it was not the posture of someone who had simply died. No, this was a warrior’s stance, even in death. An old, rusted sword was lodged deep in the ribcage, piercing the heart.

Nyxoria exhaled, running a hand through her hair as she forced herself to look at the skeleton once more. "Where is this? Whose palace was this?" she asked, finally turning to face Ora.

Ora merely shrugged, her voice calm. "I don't really know Nyxoria. I traced your wolf here before freeing it," she said, then lifted a hand to point at something behind the throne. "Do you see it?"

Nyxoria frowned, following Ora’s hand.

And then she saw it.

Her breath froze.

Behind the throne chair, pinned to the old crumbling stone wall, was a massive skeleton figure. It stretched out, its body lifeless, its bones a mix of white and black and unnatural. Wings, huge, skeleton wings, extended from its back.

She swallowed hard, stepping closer, unable to tear her gaze away from the massive form. "What…what is this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"That's your wolf Nyxoria and I have free its spirit. It's not a normal wolf though, the fools who did this think doing this would put an end to the wolf life but take a good look at the wolf again, the soul and spirit of the dragon is still there and with time and me coaching you, you will be able to not just merge with your dragon spirit but to bring your wolf back to life and then merge it with your soul." Ora answered.
