Chapter 13: Chapter Thirteen

Kennedy's POV:

After I dropped Ella off, I sat in my office working. I knew she wouldn't be off until later. Then my phone started ringing. I expected it to be one of my clients, but instead, it was Ella. She was crying and saying she'd had an accident.

I got a diaper bag ready of her along with a new change of clothes and drove to her work, I found her hiding underneath her desk. True she did have an accident, but I came prepared, taking her to my car, I changed her and got a diaper on her, I don't trust her to go without one for now.

I was ready to take her home and keep her there, she's a baby she doesn't need this job, I sat her in the backseat which made her pout, and here I was thinking about getting her a car seat. When we got home, I unstrapped her and took her inside the house, she was still blushing, I went to the washing room to sort her dirty clothes.

My husband would be here soon, we'll have dinner and then we can have a talk with the baby, if she wants to stay in her work, she'll have to wear protection, although I'm all in to making her stay at home.

I went back to the kitchen to check on our dinner, we're having some grilled chicken while the little one is getting nuggets with veg for everyone, got to stay healthy. I left the kitchen and went to search for the little one, I found her in the living room sitting on the sofa with both her feet tucked underneath her.

I was about to say something when Robert came in, he had a big smile on his face, he landed a kiss on mouth, and one on the baby forehead. He was still ignorant on the little accident we had today, I'll inform him later when the girl isn't in the hearing shot.

"Is dinner ready yet? I'm starving," he says and I nod.

"Come on little one, let's go get some food," he says, picking the little one up in his arms, making her squeal.

He places her in her seat, straps her in, and gets her food. He gets a glass of wine for us but gives the little some juice in a sippy cup. She hardly touches her food, too upset to eat. Robert notices that and points to her. I give her a big smile and go to feed her the food. She eats a few bites, but that's it.

Knowing that she must be very upset about everything that passed, she could have a bottle before bed, I kept thinking about giving her another kind of milk. But I wasn't so sure she'd be into that idea. I wanted her to be my baby. I knew about some pills that would make any woman lactate, but that was an idea for another time, when she was more comfortable around us.

Robert suggested to give the baby girl her bath today, since he didn't have much time with her today, he took her to the bath while I got her night clothes ready for when she's done. I heard Robert tell the little one she got five minutes to play in the tub before walking out of the bathroom.

"Robert, she had an accident today at work," I tell him in a low voice.

"What kind of accident?" he asks.

"The one where she calls me for a changing," I tell him, he nods understanding me.

"What do we do now?" I ask him, I want her to stay home but it's not my choice to make.

"We give her the option of wearing protection to work or stay at home," he says what I already knew, I nod agreeing with him.

He went back in to get Ella from her bath, he got the blushing baby out, pet her dry and diaper her again, I decided to have a talk with her before bedtime. We sat her in our bed, since we bath her in our en-suite bathroom, we each sat on one side of her before starting to talk.

"Honey, you know we can support you. You don't have to work," Robert says and I nod.

"But I love my job," she cries out right away.

"We know baby but you'll need to wear protection under your clothes," I tell her, she blushes but nod her head yes.

"You also can't do any more long hours. We know you love your work, but we don't want you to be overwhelmed or burned out," Robert says.

"But my boss won't let me cut on my hours!" she says in a fussy voice.

"We'll have a talk with your boss don't worry baby," I tell her with a wink, we have our connections.

"Now it's time for someone bottle, then bedtime," Roberts says picking her up again.
