Chapter 9: Your order is my command
His left eyebrow raised when I looked at him in surprise.
"You may take your seat woman. And please calm yourself,” he ordered me in a baritone voice. Because of my surprise when I saw him, I stood up from the chair.
"I'm your boss." he reminded and crossed his arms over his chest. "So... Nadia?"
My attention returned to his face when he called me.
That's why he knows my name! Roman must have said this.
"Are you still amazed at my blue eyes?" he said and bit her bottom lip.
I swallowed at his question. "I'm sorry. What do we have to do here?”
"Sir." I added.
His face turned serious. "I don't have anyone to eat with today. That's why I told you to come here." while sipping coffee.
My fist clenched at what he said.
Did he order me to come here early just to eat with him?
"Are you kidding me?" I couldn't stop myself from saying a word. The exasperation was evident in my voice.
"Nope. Roman told you that you are not an ordinary secretary, right? So what's the point of being disappointed?" He put down the coffee glass he was holding and tousled his hair.
"SIR, I'm sorry, okay? I wasn't aware that this was the job I would do as an extraordinary secretary." I said with emphasis.
He smirked at me. "Just follow what I want. Anyway, I don't usually say my full name, just call me Uno or Sir.”
I almost broke the glass I was holding because I was holding it so tightly.
I took a deep breath and thought about what I would answer to this man.
"Noted, Sir."
Although annoyed, I agreed with him. I have no right to complain if I want money. I won't make money from just complaining.
After eating, we left that restaurant and went to a mall.
"I want to buy a new perfume." he said to me when we got inside.
I looked around. It's almost noon but there is still no one in this mall. I only see salesmen and women.
"I closed this mall temporarily because I was going to buy something. I don't want someone to get in my way," he said rudely and left me gaping at the entrance of the mall.
He’s insane!
"If you want something, just take it." I turned to him while he was busy looking for perfume.
He looks kind.
"I will deduct it from your salary." he added.
I take back what I said! He is not nice!
When he tried to spray the perfume on his wrist, I smell it.
That's why their smells are familiar. Roman probably only uses the same perfume.
"There." he pointed to the saleslady. "I want them all." He pointed to a part where his perfume was.
I wondered why he bought so many perfumes. Maybe this is what he eats.
“Put that in my car. And don't tell Roman that I bought it. He will be the one to consume my perfume." he said irritatedly to the woman.
My laughter almost got louder so he looked at me. He raised an eyebrow at me again. "What?" I shook my head.
After he finished, we got into his expensive car and were taken to a huge building.
"This is my condominium." he said when we entered this building.
"Everything you see here is my property. Anytime I need you, you can come here. They already know you." I looked around in amazement.
“Here.” he handed me something. "This is your first salary this month." My eyes nearly popped when I held that cheque.
It's only the first day of work and yet I have this big salary right away.
"You can leave now. I'll text you if I need you." I nodded in agreement.
I didn't have the will to leave that condo. Until I got home. I never thought I could handle this much money in one month.
I slept holding it. I was so happy that I had lost all the annoyance I felt since I saw that blue-eyed person.
I was sleeping when my phone rang.
Roman of Lucesio's company is calling…
I immediately got up and answered the call.
"Good morning, Sir." I greet him.
"Morning Miss Nadia!" I winced at the loudness of his voice.
"Where did you and your boss go yesterday?" he asked.
"We ate at the address you sent me and we went to the mall."
"Oh! Really? Did he buy perfume?” he asked seriously.
Suddenly, what my boss said yesterday came to my mind.
“A-ah… no Sir.” my answer.
Why are they like that? Borrowing perfume? They are both rich, what’s the matter?
"Is that so? OK! Thank you, Nadia.” and he hung up.
I looked at the clock.
5 o'clock in the morning!?
At this time he called just to ask that.
"They're both jerks!" Annoyed, I went back to bed and forced myself to sleep.
I'm here now inside my boss's condo. I was waiting for him to finish his meeting, and he said he would give me an order.
I looked around his condo.
Spacious, clean, and only black and white designs.
I walk through a large window near his bed.
I was amazed at what I saw. I can almost see all the buildings and cars.
I suddenly remembered the house I left.
How is my mom?
My chest ached as I remembered our happy days before that incident happened.
“Nadia… you should always remember that no matter how far your status is compared to others. Don't belittle others. Because before you even get to what you have, you also go through where they are."
Those words of my mother are imprinted in my heart and mind.
Maybe if that tragedy hadn't happened to her… we'd still be happy even though something was missing. Even if we lost dad. Maybe my mom would still be by my side.
I looked up sadly to hold back my tears.
"Get this." I was surprised when someone spoke next to me.
I got ready and greeted the man in front of me.
"Wipe your tears before they start to flow. My floor might be dirty." He said holding out a handkerchief.
My earlier sadness was replaced by annoyance.
I can't even find a good reason why I would call him a good person.
"We're going down. Bring that folder.” he pointed to the folder on the table. "And we'll eat outside."
I immediately followed his order. We left his condo and went to a restaurant.
"Order what you want." he said and handed the menu list to me.
"Don't worry, I won't deduct it from your salary today." I breathed a sigh of relief. The food here is even more expensive.
"Because I have already given you your salary this month. I'll just deduct it from your next month's salary." he fixed his hair and smirked.
This guy is really ruthless!
I only ordered juice and ordinary pasta.
The price is too expensive!
