Chapter 52: Blessed with Two Mates

Xavier and I stepped back as Kiera stood. Jennifer walked towards Kiera with tears in her eyes and gave her a hug.

“I’m going to be a grandma” Jennifer smiled tearfully.

“Yes. Surprise” Kiera grinned, her hand unconsciously going to her belly.

“I have a surprise of my own", Jennifer smiled. We all knew what the surprise was.

“What is it?” Kiera asked, tilting her head slightly. Jennifer didn’t answer but just looked behind Kiera. Kiera turned around and when she saw her dad in front of her, she fell to her knees as tears began to stream down her face. She couldn’t believe what she was looking at. I could feel it through the bond. Markos knelt in front of her and cupped her face with both of his hands. He had tears streaming down his face too.

“My beautiful angel”, Markos smiled.

“D-daddy?” Kiera questioned, still in disbelief, and Markos nodded his head yes, also getting on his knees. He gently cupped Kiera's cheek as if she would disappear when he touched her. As soon as Kiera felt his touch, her beautiful eyes flashed rapidly.

“DADDY!” Kiera shouted and lunged at him, sobbing her heart out. I can’t even imagine what she could be thinking. She saw him die in front of her eyes. He took those arrows and that sword were meant for her. I looked around and I could see the females crying and even some males had tears in their eyes. I know Xavier and I did because we know how much our mate missed her father.

“Daddy… you died. You died because of me… Oh daddy I’m sorry” she sobbed even more.

“Oh my angel, you have no reason to be sorry. I protected my child and I would do it all over again a million times over. Yes, I died, but somehow they brought me back and I’m here now. I’m really sorry you and your mother had to suffer so much” her father said, pulling her into another hug. He quickly pulled back and stood. He reached down to help her up, but we knew he was still a bit weak, so I reached down and helped her up. Kiera reached up and kissed my cheek.

“Daddy, these are my mates, Lycan King Xavier, and our Royal Gamma Benny. Guys, I want you to meet my dad, Markos” Kiera said as more tears streamed down her face.

“Oh, we met little bird”, Xavier said, and kissed the top of her head. Kiera reached her hand out and touched her father’s face gently.

“I’m here pumpkin”, Markos chuckled and kissed her hands. Then her eyes changed to an icy silver and she sniffed the air and whimpered. Her Lycan is on the surface.

“It’s her Lycan” I said to Markos.

“Hello Ari”, Markos smiled.

“Dad”, Ari growled out before hugging Markos.

“Yes, my angelic warrior. It’s me” Markos said. When they pulled back from the hug, Kiera’s stomach growled even louder.

“Come on little one. You need to eat and feed our pups”, I said. She didn’t argue as she walked to the chair and sat down. I put some French toast on her plate, some sausage, a bowl of fresh cut fruit, and some orange juice.

“So, pumpkin, how did you all meet?” Markos asked. During all that time in the cell he never asked. I looked at Kiera to see her swallowing her food and cleaning the corners of her mouth before answering.

“Well, I met King Xavier first at a café in town. I had to go to town to get some supplies to fix the roof. I knew this was the Lycan King’s territory so I wanted to go in and out, but I made a quick stop at the café and realized there were Lycans inside, but it was too late. I gave my order and once I got it I made my way outside, but the Lycan King had followed me outside. When he grabbed me, I flipped him over and I knew right then and there he was my mate”, I admitted.

“True, but then she took off running. I couldn’t let her get away, so I followed her. I had Benny here bring some pizza. I then introduced myself and after we ate I helped her with the roof”, Xavier said.

“But what about Royal Gamma Benny?” Markos asked, a bit confused. Xavier and Kiera looked at each other before looking at me. I knew they weren’t going to say anything unless I did.

“My first mate, Alison, was killed by a drunk driver while she was riding her bike back to her dorm. At one point, I didn’t think that I was going to make it, but there was something I knew that no one knew… or so I thought. I was and still am in love with my best friend and King, Xavier. When I met Kiera, she almost cut my head off with her sword, but she apologized and was always good to me. Somehow, she knew I was in love with her mate and one day, while she was training by the waterfall, she asked me. I tried to hide it, but she asked me not to lie and be honest, so I did. I told her the truth. To my surprise, she encouraged me to tell Xavier. I refused at first because I didn’t want to get in the middle, but she assured me that I wasn’t going to get in the middle. I was going to tell Xavier, but I didn’t know when”. I took a deep breath and looked at my hands.

“The day of Alison’s three year anniversary of her death, I started drinking from very early. Some time during that day, the pack was attacked. I fought to keep my pack members safe, but when it got to keep myself safe… I refused to fight. Kiera and Xavier found me in my room bleeding to death, but they helped me, healed me, and took care of me. Ever since then… we have been together” I said, and smiled when both of my mates took my hands.

“I wouldn’t change anything. Everything happened how it was meant to happen”, Xavier said, then kissed my hand.

“I wouldn’t either. I love both of you equally”, Kiera said, then leaned towards me and kissed my cheek before she continued to eat.

“I think it turned out great and as long as the three of you are happy it’s all that matters” Jennifer said, making Markos nod his head in agreement.

“So, how are things with you, Markos? Did you get checked out by the pack doctor?” Xavier asked.

“Yes, thank you. I was just told I need to eat”, Markos chuckled, making Jennifer blush.

“Dad” Kiera whines, making everyone in the dining room laugh. Kiera’s head snapped up and sniffed the air. She scooted her chair back and turned to the door. A squeal was heard and Emma ran towards Kiera.

“Hi cutie” Kiera said and kissed Emma on the cheek, gently picking her up and placing her on her lap.

“Pretty” Emma said, leaning her head on Kiera’s breast.

“You are pretty too”, Kiera said, and kissed the top of her head. Emma wiggled her way out of her hold and gently placed her head on her belly.

“Emma, come and eat baby”, Dalton called.

“How is she sleeping?” Kiera asked Monica and Dalton.

“Much better. Nana put a block on her memory of that night when you know what happened”, Monica said, cutting Emma’s French toast.

“She will still remember her real parents and when you found her, but that moment when you know what… she won’t remember it. At least until she shifts into her wolf”, Dalton said. We continued to eat our food, then bid the other three Alphas who had come to help us goodbye. I needed to go talk to Xavier about something, but first I wanted to check on Kiera, but I couldn’t find her anywhere.

‘Check the waterfall’, Jack said. That was the only place I hadn’t checked. I walked to the waterfall and I found her there sitting on the ground. She was now wearing leggings and a coat. It will soon start to snow. I knew she knew I was there.

“Hello little one” I said as I approached. She looked at me over her shoulder and smiled.

“Hello handsome” she smiled, then turned back to the water.

“Are you okay?” I asked her and took a seat next to her.

“I have no idea what I would have done if anything had happened to either of you. I mean worse than what had happened. When you flatlined, I felt like a part of me died… like I was losing myself, but then I felt selfish because I was there crying because you were dead and not there for Xavier. I knew he was hurting when you flatline. I felt it through our bond. He felt just as I did, but then you were in front of me… alive, and even though the pain was there it was still hard to believe”, Kiera said. I could feel her emotions through our bond.

“I know how you felt and I’m sorry little one. I’m sorry you had to go through that pain, but I’m here now. One thing I have learned from all that has happened is that we should live our lives like is our last day. We never know if we'll wake up tomorrow”, I said, and she looked at me with her big beautiful eyes. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her lips. It was a short, sweet kiss.

“I love you little one” I said truthfully.

“And I love you, my love” she said, and I could feel it through our bond.

“Do you want to head back?” I asked her.

“I’m actually going to look for my dad and see if he would like to stretch his wings” Kiera said.

“Okay, just be careful” I said, then kissed her belly.

“I will” she smiled. I looked at her for a few more seconds, then went back to the castle. I needed to talk to Xavier and help him catch up with some work.
