Chapter 35: Blessed with Two Mates

An hour ago, they brought Xavier back. He looked to have been tortured. Before he passed out, he said he was injected with silver. I can’t imagine the pain he is in. Markos has been trying to take some of his pain, but he is really weak. After a few seconds of taking Xavier's pain, he passed out. I tried to contact my Lycan, but I came up empty. I’ve tried to link our beautiful mate or even Nana Yashira, but nothing. I wondered if they’d ever find us. Xavier groans and I look down at my lap where his head rests. I pray to the moon goddess that we can survive this. That someone from our pack finds us.

“You should rest, son. They took him first, which means you’ll be next”, Markos says.

“What are they going to do?” I asked.

“It’s always something different. It all depends on the species”, Markos says, making me look at him.

“The species?” I echoed.

“Yes. As far as I know, they have a dragon, werewolves, a human, and a vampire”, Markos says.

“Wait, why a human?” I asked.

“I believe I heard one of the guards say that she was able to move things with her mind. It’s why they always keep her sedated”, Markos replied. I heard the door open, followed by footsteps. I see Markos body tense.

“Get back here” he whispered. I grabbed Xavier and pulled him far from the cell door. Just as I lay his head on my lap, I saw a woman standing in front of our cell. It was the same hunter I saw with Amanda the day we were attacked and I almost bled to death. That day- no, that night was the best night of my life.

“Hello, father” the woman says before reaching up and taking off her hoodie. I gasped at how much of a resemblance she had to Kiera. This was Helen, Kiera’s older sister. Hell, they could almost pass for twins.

“You are not my daughter” Markos gritted out.

“Oh, right because I’m not Kiera, right?” Helen said.

“No, because a daughter never turns her back on her family or hurts them the way that you have. You let your grandfather poison your mind. Do you think that he will let you take half of his powers? Once he gets a taste of it he’ll probably kill you and take it all for himself”, Markos said.

“He didn’t poison my mind. I saw things for what they truly are-”

“You saw what he wanted you to see. He showed you the evil in the supernatural world, but he never showed you the good in it. We tried to show the good in it but your mind was made up that it was all bad. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you, Helen, in this world, not just the supernatural world, there is good and evil. For the good in the world to exist, there has to be evil. There is a balance that has to be maintained and you’re tipping the scales”, Markos said.

“The scales will tip to my side and I will make everything better and rid the world of evil”, Helen snarled. She is mad. She thinks that what she’s doing is good.

“Helen, you are the evil in this world” Markos said.

“Of course I am. You have to fight evil with evil” Helen smiled evilly, then her eyes went to me and I felt a cold chill run down my body.

“It’s your turn now, handsome” as the words left her lips, the same men that took Xavier arrived and opened the cell. I quickly stood taking a protective stand in front of my mate and letting out a growl. One of the men grabbed me but I dodged him and punched him in the jaw. He growled, stumbling back when the others jumped on me. That’s when I felt it, the prick on my neck. I felt my body heating up before I blacked out.

I was ready to talk to everyone this morning, but Mrs. Angel asked me to accompany her to town. I didn’t want to be rude, so I agreed. Now we were at a pharmacy buying some chocolates that she liked.

“Xavier and Benny like Crunch” she said, pointing to the bars. My Lycan whimpered at the thoughts of our mates. Even though she hasn’t met them yet, she misses them as much as I do. I grabbed a few bars of crunch and remembered that I needed to buy some concealer for mom that she asked me to get.

“I’ll be right back. I’m going to get mom’s concealer” I said, then walked to the makeup area. Once I found the number she uses, I grabbed it. On my way back, I saw the isle where they have the pregnancy tests. This morning I wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t sleep well either. Not having my mates with me is taking a toll on me. I can feel that something is wrong.

‘I’ll just take the test to be sure’ I said to myself and grabbed a box. I quickly paid for it, not wanting Mrs. Angel or anyone to see it. As soon as I got my bag, I saw Mrs. Angel was coming towards me.

“Are you ready to go dear?” she asked.

“Yes, there’s a meeting I want to have with you all” I said, and she nodded. I saw her eyes glaze over and I knew she was linking with someone. When her eyes went back to normal, she paid and we quickly got in her SUV.

“Is everything okay?” I asked.

“Yes, it was just my daughter Monica asking where I was” she smiled. As she began to drive I had to close my eyes as I felt my stomach flip and not in a good way.

“Did you sleep at all last night?” Mrs. Angel asked.

“No, I tossed and turned. I... I miss them” I said lowly. Mrs. Angel placed her hand on mine.

“I know you do, honey, and I promise we will find them” she assured me.

“Mom was gone for over three months trying to find the ones who killed my father and grandma” I reminded her.

“But your mother was doing this alone. Yashira is a high priestess. Gabriel shares some of her powers. River is a hellhound and werewolf hybrid. One of her mates is a werewolf and the other is a vampire. I’m a Lycan and so is my mate. We have the largest pack in the world. We have friends all over. We will find them, just don’t lose hope” Mrs. Angel smiled and I nodded. About fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the pack. I went inside and saw mom with the others in the living room. I walked towards her and smiled, handing her the concealer.

“Thanks sweetheart” she smiled.

“No problem. I’m going to head up to my room for a bit. When I come back down we’re going to Xavier’s office to have a meeting. That includes you as well” I said, looking at Jazmine, Marisol, and Guillermo.

“Yes your highness”, the three of them said.

“Also, can someone contact Kane? I want him here as well”, I said, then went up to my room. I closed and locked the door, then dumped the contents of the bag on the bed. I grabbed all the crunch bars and put them neatly on the nightstand. I then sat down for a few seconds on the bed looking at the pregnancy test box.

‘It looks like you’re waiting for the test to stand up and dance for you’, Ari joked. I chuckled, shaking my head.

‘Just take the test. Then we can go and have this meeting’ she said. I sighed and grabbed the pregnancy test and went to the bathroom. I opened the box and read the instructions. Once I finished reading them, I did as it said. I took out my phone to put the timer on.

‘Kiera, you need to come down and see this’ Mrs. River said. I could hear the urgency in her voice. I put the phone back in my pocket, put the test back in the box, then put it in the second drawer, and went out the door. I went down the stairs and saw that everyone wasn’t in the living room any longer. I walked towards the foyer and saw the front door open. I walked outside to see Mom, Mrs. Yashira, Mrs. River, Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Tristan, Mr. Koslov, Mrs. Angel, Mr. Colin, Beta Jazmine, Beta Marisol, Gamma Guillermo, Kane, and Dalton. As if sensing me, they all turned and looked at me. All the women had tears in their eyes. I stepped closer to them and that’s when I saw it. There was this ball hovering in front of everyone and inside the ball I could see Benny. My heart broke seeing him the way he was.

“It’s good to see you again Kiera”, I heard a familiar voice say.

“Helen” I gritted out.

“I’ve been wanting to talk to you face to face for a while now, but someone always seems to interrupt us” she said as she twirled a dagger in her hand.

“You mean that time you sent ferals to attack me at the cabin?” I asked.

“From what I was told, you attacked first and they were supposed to just bring you here after they had some fun” she grinned wickedly, making the males around us growl, including Kane.

“Helen, where are your sister’s mates at” mom asked.

“Oh, mother, you’re still alive. I guess we will have to fix that really soon. As for my sister’s mates? There’s one right here. The other one is still knocked out after I tortured him and injected him with silver” she cackled. I heard Mrs. Angel gasped and Mr. Colin growled. My Lycan growled in my head.

“What do you want, Helen?” Naya Yashira asked.

“I want Kiera to watch. If you look away, I will slit his throat”, Helen said. What I saw next made my blood run cold.
