Chapter 29
“Come with me. There’s something I want to show you.” Creed continued staring into my eyes as he tucked a piece of my hair behind my ears.
He’s trying to distract me, and it’s working. I blinked my eyes and looked away to pull myself out of the trance I fall into every time I look into his eyes.
I looked around at everyone, “what’s it going to be? Do you agree to leave him alone for a while?”
I watched as the boys all looked at each other. “Whatever you’re planning you might as well say out loud.”
Ryker smirked, “I get what you’re saying, Bella. I’ll make a deal with you. If you go with Creed and just let us have a chat with Rowen, I promise we won’t kill him. That’s the best I can do. I want to see for myself what kind of control issues he has.”
I thought about it for a minute. I know the boys are trying to investigate all three of my mates undetected and this could help. Besides, I’ll be with the one that I’m most worried about. The boys won’t kill him. It’s not their style. Creed, on the other hand, I’m not so sure.
I nodded, “be nice Ryker. Think about how you would want to be treated if you did something out of character because something was wrong with your wolf.”
“I’ll keep it in mind.”
I nodded and closed my hands to put out the fire.
Creed grabbed my hand and smirked, “come on, you’re going to like it.”
As I started walking away with him, I looked back over my shoulder at the boys and Dawson. I can tell by the smirks on their faces that they’re not going to listen to a word I just said.
I feel like I was just talking to a brick wall. I shook my head. I knew I couldn’t scare them. The boys know me too well. All I can do at this point is throw my hands up and hope for the best.
“Where are we going?” I asked Creed.
“For a walk. There’s something I want to try,” He gave my hand a gentle squeeze. I can feel how tense he still is, but he’s at least trying to calm down.
Creed led me into the forest but instead of going to the clearing, we took a left turn which led us deeper into the forest.
“You’re making me nervous. Are you going to tell me what we’re doing?”
“We’re almost there,” he smiled.
“It didn’t take me long to figure out most shifters here run by the clearing. I had to find someplace I could shift alone, and no one seems to come over this way.”
He looked down at me, and he seems nervous, “Have you ever seen a dragon?”
I shook my head. “No, when I talked to your dragon it was the first interaction I’ve ever had with one.”
Creed smirked, “There is this thing that happens between dragon mates that I want to try with you. I never thought that it would work between us, but when I saw the fire on your hands I thought, maybe.”
He hesitated for a minute while he searched my face for a reaction. I just smiled and waited for him to continue.
“When dragon mates combine their fire, it’s supposed to be an intimate moment between the two dragons, but it’s a way to heal your mate. Don’t worry, it won’t complete our bond or anything, but it’s been said that it brings you closer. When our fire combines, it lets out some kind of power that will engulf both of us as it heals you. I don’t really know what it will feel like. I’ve only seen it happen a couple of times. It’s kind of a private thing for most dragons. It might not even work with you being a wolf.”
I smiled, he’s nervous. I don’t think I have ever seen Creed nervous. This must mean more to him than he’s letting on.
“So, let’s try it. What’s the worst that can happen?”
We finally got to the spot Creed was taking us. It’s a small clearing. It’s not as pretty as the other one, but there’s enough space for him to shift.
Creed wrapped his arms around me and lowered his cheek to mine before pulling me into a kiss. I let myself fall against his body as he deepened the kiss.
When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against mine for a minute as he hugged me.
“Are you sure you want to do this? You seem nervous.”
He looked between my face and my arm for a minute and nodded, “I’m sure.”
“OK,” I nodded back. “If you’re not sure, it’s OK. I’m a shifter. My arm will heal on its own soon. It’s really not a big deal.”
“Anytime you’re hurt, it’s a big deal. I won’t let it happen again.”
His emotions seem to be all over the place. I don't want to push him, so I let it go and didn’t say anything.
“Don’t let my dragon scare you. I’m a prince, he’s bigger than most. With the way he acted the last time he talked to you, I know he won’t hurt you. I’m going to release a small stream of fire by your feet. Aim your fire directly into the stream and, well, I guess we will see what happens.”
“Um, won't that start a forest fire,” I smirked.
Creed chuckled, “I control my fire. It won’t burn anything unless I let it.”
I bit my lower lip, “um, mine will.”
“Then I guess you better not miss,” he smirked.
I took a deep breath, “OK, I can do this.”
He didn’t turn around or give me a warning. He removed his shirt and l smirked back at him as he watched my facial expressions. I let my eyes trail up and down his rock-hard chest and I didn’t even try to hide it.
He stared at me like it was a challenge when he started unbuttoning his pants. He’s crazy if he thinks I’m going to look away. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I don’t even need the fire to create intimacy between us. His eyes do an amazing job at that.
I can feel his eyes watching me as I watch him remove his pants. He’s moving this slowly on purpose. I bit my lower lip as I took in the sight. There is nothing soft on his body, and I want to lick every inch of him.
I’m completely soaked. All I can think about is how bad I want him. I want to touch him, and I want to feel his touch on my bare skin. He finally removed his boxers, and oh my goddess, that shaft is huge.
It took everything I had not to reach out and touch him. Instead of shifting right away, he licked his lips, wrapped his hand around his shaft and ran it up and down the length a few times. He knows what he’s doing to me, and I don’t think I can take much more. Wanting him is becoming a need.
He finally turned around, and I held my breath as he started to shift. He wasn’t exaggerating. His dragon is huge, but so amazing. His body is black, but there’s a bright green strip that runs down the scales in the middle of his back. The green on his scales match his eyes in human form.
I feel so small standing next to him. He could kill me in a matter of seconds. I didn’t move a muscle as he lowered his head down so close to my face that smoke from his nose covered my body. I reached my hand out and held it still for a moment to see if I could touch him.
He put his face right on my hand, like I was touching his cheek. I ran my hand from one cheek all the way around to the other side of his face.
“You’re amazing. I’m going to ride you some day if you’ll let me.” I smiled at him as I looked into his eyes that were now a yellowish color.
He backed up slightly and nodded his head. Letting me know it’s time.
He lowered his head and looked into my eyes as a small stream of fire came out of his mouth. I raised my hands and let my fire release without throwing it.
When my fire touched Creed's, it was like an electric shock that went through my entire body. I watched as his fire circled around mine and went up and over us until we were both surrounded.
It didn’t burn. I can feel a prickling feeling all over my body that is throwing my senses into overdrive. His dragon is staring directly into my eyes, and I can feel his intense passion like his soul is calling for mine.
My need for him is at an unbearable level. There’s a tightness in my lower stomach, but at the same time it’s calming. Like two hearts beating at the same rhythm. I’m overcome with an intense feeling of love and desire.
I don’t know if it’s my feelings, his feelings, or the fire that’s dancing around us. Pushing for our two hearts to become one. A feeling of complete ecstasy.
Creed stopped the fire coming from his mouth and I closed my hands, ending the connection. I fell to the ground and my body started shaking as I came down from the high.
I laid there in complete shock. Trying hard to catch my breath and slow my heart rate down as my body began to calm.
Within a couple of minutes, Creed was kneeling beside me with a look of complete shock on his face.
I looked over at him and let out a low chuckle, “Was that supposed to happen? You had to of felt it too.”
