Chapter 382
Audrey shook her head, terrified. "I'm telling the truth, I'm not making stuff up. Mr. Carter, you can't just ignore the facts because it's your wife!"
Ignore the facts?
Everyone gasped. Audrey had the nerve to accuse Raymond of being unreasonable?
She must be out of her mind.
Emily felt a chill run down her spine for Audrey. This time, she was really done for.
Stanley, desperate to save his school, pulled out his phone, his fingers trembling as he swiped across the screen. He then played a video for everyone to see.
Emily focused on the screen and saw it was footage of the students in their class.
The principal was questioning them one by one:
"Ms. Carroll deliberately pushed Ms. Johnson because Ms. Johnson was always defending us. Ms. Carroll got furious."
"Ms. Carroll definitely pushed Ms. Johnson, and it was hard. Ms. Johnson must be in a lot of pain."
"Ms. Carroll has been targeting Ms. Johnson ever since she started leading the class. I've noticed it for a while."
"Ms. Carroll is awful, not even human. Just seeing her makes me sick."
The video lasted over three minutes, and everyone watched it in full.
Audrey's mind went blank, a chill creeping up her spine, her body trembling uncontrollably.
This video was enough to prove everything.
"No... This is a setup... Emily is good at winning people over! That's why the students are lying for her! They're making false statements!" Audrey continued to argue.
Emily remained expressionless, unsurprised by Audrey's attitude. She had long been disgusted by her behavior.
"Audrey, even now you refuse to admit it. You're dragging the whole school down with you!" Stanley gritted his teeth, his hatred for Audrey palpable.
Raymond then spoke, "Alright, Stanley. Since that's the case, I'll handle this my way."
He turned to Juan, "Look into Audrey's background. Send someone to her home. If her parents work for any government agencies, notify them to terminate their employment. Blacklist Audrey in her field of study."
Everyone was stunned. They hadn't expected Raymond to be so ruthless.
Even Emily was shocked by Raymond's harsh approach.
Audrey shivered, sweat beading on her forehead, her pupils dilating with fear and panic.
Her hands trembled, dropping whatever she was holding, her face turning as pale as a sheet.
"Mr. Carter... Mr. Carter, I was wrong. Please... please forgive me..." Audrey pleaded, falling to her knees.
The thud was loud, and Emily could tell her knees must be swollen.
Raymond, not one to be swayed by pity, remained cold and emotionless.
Emily watched the scene with a detached gaze. Any sympathy she might have had for Audrey had long been exhausted.
Audrey had made an enemy of Raymond, and that was as good as making an enemy of death itself.
"Juan, it's too noisy. It's disturbing my wife's rest. Clear the room," Raymond ordered, his icy stare sending chills down everyone's spine.
Juan understood immediately and tapped a few buttons on his phone.
Within a minute, four burly bodyguards entered, two of them grabbing Audrey and dragging her out of the room.
Audrey screamed in terror, her face as white as paper.
"Emily! I was wrong, please forgive me!"
"Mr. Carter, I was wrong, please forgive me!"
Emily turned her gaze away, only relaxing when Audrey's voice faded into the distance. She couldn't help but rub her ears.
Finally, peace.
Stanley and the other school leaders were nearly paralyzed with fear.
Stanley's teeth chattered as he stammered out a plea.
"Mr. Carter... I'm deeply sorry. I apologize to Mrs. Carter. This is my failure. You can punish me however you see fit, but please spare the institution. It's my life's work."
Before Raymond could respond, Emily spoke up, "Raymond, let Stanley go. This isn't his fault. He's always been good to me."
Stanley was taken aback, then looked at Emily with gratitude.
Emily nodded and continued, "From the time I started learning languages at the institution to my brief tenure, Stanley has always treated me well. He even confronted Audrey multiple times about her behavior, but she didn't care and continued her misdeeds. This isn't Stanley's fault."
Raymond's gaze lingered on her face for a moment before he turned to Stanley. After a few seconds of scrutiny, he spoke calmly, "Since my wife says so, we'll end it here. But her tenure at the institution is over."
Stanley was overwhelmed with relief, nearly crying but managing to hold back.
"Thank you, Mr. Carter. We'll comply with all your requests."
Emily's expression softened, relieved.
If Raymond had held a grudge, she would have felt terrible for Stanley, who had always treated her well.
Even before she was Raymond's wife, Stanley had never shown any bias against her.
Despite some minor issues during her tenure, Emily considered them insignificant. No one is perfect, and Stanley was a good person.
After a brief conversation, Stanley left a $100,000 check, despite Emily's insistence that it wasn't necessary for her treatment.
The room finally returned to tranquility.
Emily exhaled, feeling like the night's events were a dream. Everything had happened so suddenly, and she hadn't expected to end up in the hospital.
She looked at Raymond and couldn't help but ask, "What will you do to Audrey?"
