Chapter 16

Camilla's POV

I sat on my bed. I was very bored. I started talking aloud to myself.

"I have been here for quite a while. It's so boring. No job. I think I should just go back to town".

I remembered my conversation with Michael that morning.

" Mike, I want to go back", I had said.

"Why? I thought you decided to wait?", came the reply.

" I have nothing doing here"

"Lisa has been looking for a job for you. Why don't you wait?", Michael had advised.

I decided to wait but on my bed right now, I really wanted to be gone. I had a strange feeling. I was sure someone was looking at me again. I looked towards my window and this time, it wasn't a pair of eyes that I saw. A saw the side view of a man. I also noticed a camera on my window. I stood up from my bed as quietly as I could. I tiptoed to the window and looked out hoping to catch that fellow this time. But alas!, no one was in sight. I suddenly became scared. My initial courage vanished. I walked out of my house to the window side. Sure enough, there were footprints there, which means it was not my imagination. I quickly resolved to investigate. I was not going to stay put till I got kidnapped. The thought of kidnap sent shivers down my spine. I looked around one more time and hurried in. I took my phone and sent Michael a text.

' I saw a man today, watching me from my window. He had a camera too. I have decided to investigate again. Please, don't tell Lisa so she won't make us change our mind'.

He sent a reply few minutes later. It simply read, 'okay'.

Kelvin's POV

'Camilla and Silas', I pondered as I lay on my bed. I wanted to call her but I stopped myself. I always felt my emotions stir each time I thought of her. I thought that satisfying my sexual urge one more time will erase her from my memory. After the first night with her, I had longed for more. She was also a virgin and that surprised me. I had sex with other women but I wasn't satisfied. I still wanted her. I finally had her a few weeks ago but contrary to my thoughts, she didn't leave my mind. There was never a day I didn't think of her. The mere thought of her made me erect. I took off my shirt and grabbed a towel. I needed a cold bath.

I stepped out of the car as it stopped in front of Frostbite Enterprise. I looked at the buildings and couldn't help but smile. This was my efforts. I had taken the company to greater heights and now it was the biggest in the country. 'President Frost', I thought as I smiled to myself. I walked into the company with the smile plastered on my face.

"Good morning President Frost", the receptionist greeted. She looked like she had seen a ghost. I smiled more in my heart. My employees have possibly never seen me smile, hence the surprise on her face. I took the private elevator to my office floor.

I sat down and pushed the files on my table closer.

" Work time", I muttered as I sipped my coffee. I read and endorsed my signature on files for ten minutes. A frown greased my face as I opened the next file. I quickly sent for my secretary.

"Which file is this?", I asked in anger as soon as he entered. I raised it up for him to see. He quickly exonerated himself.

" Sir..it was handed ...to..me by Assistant Greg"

I was surprised at his exoneration and annoyed at his inability to answer a simple question.

"I will not repeat my question"

He shook all over like a leaf and stammered.

"Business proposals, President"

I didn't have time to waste on the poor fellow. "Go and get Assistant Greg", I said dismissing him. I looked at the file again and my frown deepened. I wondered what had happened while I was away on a business trip. Silas was signing deals with companies which I had rejected. Was he currying favours? How dare he!!!

Assistant Greg knoocked and entered. " Good morning President Frost ".

" Who brought these business proposals here?", I asked completely ignoring his greeting.

"Vice President Silas", he replied. I gave him a questioning look and he continued.

" While you were away on a business trip, he signed and approved a lot of deals and would have sealed them if your signature as the CEO wasn't required. But he has already sealed the deal with 'Bengley company'... "

"Cancel that deal…", I interrupted on anger.

" President Frost, how do we go about it? Vice President Silas had it sealed three days ago and they have gone into partnership with us", Greg explained dutifully.

I pressed my pen so hard on the table that it snapped and broke.

"Get the sealed deal. It doesn't go without signatures". Greg was quick to understand my intention.

" You want to know those who are involved? ". I nodded. He bowed and left to get the sealed deal.

My Assistant, Greg. He has had a fair share of my cold aura and arrogant side too. But he remained loyal to me. He was the best assistant I ever had. I didn't need to say it all for him to understand. Greg showed up with the file few minutes later. I studied it closely. I said nothing for a long time. After what seemed like eternity, I said " Organize an emergency meeting right now".

I walked into the meeting room and a hush fell over everyone. They all stood up as I entered. My eyes swept through them all and I could see fear in their eyes. I knew I had an imposing and domineering aura but today's was different and on a higher scale. I sat down and the meeting began.
