Chapter 97: The past she hides (four years ago) 4
Ellasandra's POV
I sit outside the café and look at the people that are passing by. This is my first time visiting this country. I ask my dad for an indefinite leave. I told him that before he passed the chairmanship to me, let me take a break from being the vice chairman for five years.
But my parents knew the truth about why I suddenly asked for this. After they found out about that damn hidden board in my closet, they've been persuading me to get treated, but I declined.
Therefore, they let me do as I wish, but if things don't favor me in a month, I have to go back and receive the treatment whether I like it or not. My brow arches when that person arrives. I grab the syrup and purposely open the other side, then I press it. I smirk when he stops.
"Absurd," he says. He didn't look at me and take a step forward.
"Coldness beyond depressive eyes is more absurd," I stated. I turned my head and met his cold eyes. His eyes dilated. He leaves just like that. I scoff and cross my legs. It's been a year since then. I can't forget him and that night when he awakens a beast inside me.
"Let's see if you can really escape from me, Rafael..."
At the villa that I bought, I was staring at the board. I look at the two pictures. I grab my phone and call Melody. "I know you'll call me, boss. I already sent you the details in your email. Don't worry. You have a few months before her arrival. You need to move faster," she says.
"Good. How about the guy? Have you arranged the things that I asked you to do?" I questioned.
I ask my assistant to investigate his past. I learned about his ex that left him without a word. That's the reason for his cold and stoic expression. "We already have shares in their group as well as huge investments. You can pull some strings and buy more of their stocks. I think we have ten percent already," she replied. I smirk.
"Good. Don't forget the main goal," I assert.
She sighed before she spoke. "Poor guy. He has no idea a lion was already devouring its body," she says.
I take my seat and grab a dart. I threw it in that woman's face. Ashley Vargas, she's a damn fool for hurting that cold idiot CEO. "Don't worry. Our moles were everywhere. You will have all their dirty secrets sooner or later. Just focus on your goal before the chairman and Madam make a move themselves. You know how impatient they could be." Melody was right. Mom had been pushing me to get married.
They are aware of my goal. If I don't give them results soon, it will be futile. "I know. I'll call you again tomorrow."
The next few weeks, I spend my time watching him. Until the moment I've been waiting for arrives. All the acting I created as a background of Ella Myers will be fruitful for this day. "Come with us," a man says. They grab my arms. I drop my broom and act scared...
Back to the present day
After that conversation with Matthew, I went upstairs. Melody poured water in a glass and then gave it to me. "Have some water and calm down," she said. I did as she suggested and drank all the liquid. "What if you start moving those chess pieces, Boss Ella?"
I frowned and raised my head. "Have you forgotten the things you told me to do four years ago? The investments and buying stocks of Jacobs Group?" she mutters. I cross my legs and recall what we did four years ago.
"Did they start their project on the east side of the city?" I ask. She smirks and understands what I was thinking. "Well, they'll start by next week. Should we call the headquarters to withdraw the money that we invested?" she says. I just give her a calm reaction. She snaps her finger.
"Understood! I'll do it right away!" she exclaims and goes back to her table.
I grab my phone and check my call history. I'm glad he seems to listen to our whole conversation. I called my mom, and she answered. "How's Mikael, Mom?" I ask.
She turned the camera and showed me my son, who was busy playing chess with his grandfather. "Your dad loses thrice," she says. "I am not!" Dad roars. Mom and I laugh. "How come that he had gotten better at playing chess?" Dad asks, facing the camera.
"Ask your son-in-law. It's his fault," I replied. Mikael giggles. "Dad taught me so many tricks, Grandpa. Don't forget your promise. If I win five times, you'll buy me a real race car," he says.
"Mikael Midnight," I called. He turns his head. "When I turn twenty, Mommy," he defended. I laugh. "Are you enjoying your time with Grandpa and Grandma?" I ask.
"Yes, Mommy. Don't worry. Grandma teaches me reading and writing while Grandpa plays board games with me," he says. "Behave then, okay? Mommy and Daddy will be home later for dinner," I stated.
"Yes, Mommy!" My dad and son continue playing. Mom switches the front camera. "So... handled well?" she asks.
I nod and smile. "You know me, Mom." She sighs, worried.
"You expose the truth to the public. How's his reaction?" she inquires. "Well, he's surprised. But he mostly thought that I'm making up a lie to save his face," I replied. "Well, it's indeed a white lie. Part of it was truth, and some are lies," she says.
"I don't know what he's thinking now. Yes, what he did is horrible for everyone, but he has no idea what I was doing while acting weak," I whispered.
Mom leans and looks at me intently. "That's what I've been thinking, my daughter. Your dad and I are aware that you're not someone who lets people trample on your dignity, let alone being a blood bank for a random person," Mom says.
I sighed and grinned calmly. "Well, it's not my blood that was used for that woman. I used our money to contact a certain blood bank to provide for it. I donated a little bit."
"I see. How about that Matthew guy? What is your plan?"
