Chapter 94: The past she hides (four years ago) 1
Ellasandra's POV
The first time I saw him was in our country. I was on my way to my favorite gallery when I saw a man walking towards the entrance first. "Oh my!" I step back and look at the stain I made on his white shirt. I should've listened to my gut! I already have the hunch to wear a transfer-proof lip tint but still choose the regular one.
"I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed. I grab my phone and call Melody. She answered.
"What is your size, Sir?" I ask. His eyes were cold and full of... pain? I drop that thought and look down. "What kind of trouble did you get into again, young miss?"
I cough. "Well... I ruined someone's clothes this time, so... can you go down and pick out a new long sleeve, please? I'm in the gallery that I'm talking about," I mumbled.
I look at the man again. "Can I know your size, Sir? I have to compensate you for that," I stated, pointing to the kiss mark that I left after bumping into him. Note to myself.
Don't walk while you're trying to find something in your bag. "Sir?" I mumbled.
He's not answering at all! Is he mad at me? Oh my gosh! I hope he's not...? I remain staring at his face. "45," he replied. His voice was soft, deep, and husky. My heart skipped a beat. I turn on my left side. "You heard him. Also, can you buy me a transfer-proof lippie? I don't have any spare in my bag."
"Okay. I'll be there in ten minutes," Melody says. "Thank you." I dropped the call.
I dropped my bag and phone. I kicked off my shoes as I ran on the stairs. "Oh my gosh! Momma, your baby!" I screamed.
What the fuck! Why does she have to wear both earphones on both ears? I ran faster, and before I passed on her side, I kicked her knee lightly. I grabbed the hand and pulled it back. I'm glad it stumbled on concrete, or else a car might have killed a cute baby. I look around and check the baby. He's sleeping.
I scooped him up and glared at his mother. "Oh my! I'm so sorry. It's just my lawyer. My husband made sure no divorce lawyer will take me as a client, and I was begging him not to drop my case. That's the fifth lawyer I've consulted, and I..."
I finally notice how haggard she looks. I give her the baby. "Next time, don't wear it in both ears. Are you fighting for its custody too?" I ask.
She nodded and smiled sadly. "Yes. My husband is a third-generation heir of a multimillionaire family. I'm just an ordinary manager of a bank. I'm afraid I'll be fired soon. It's just..." she smiled sadly. She holds her son tightly. I can tell that she's fighting. "What is the name of the bank?" I ask.
"Metroeast bank," she replied. I frowned when my hand was touching nothing. "Here," that voice says.
I saw my phone. He's holding my bag, phone, and heels. "Oh my! Forgive me. Thanks," I stated. I grab my bag and phone. I was about to get the shoes when he knelt in front of me and grabbed my left foot. He used his hanky and wiped it off.
He put on the heels after and did the same thing on my right foot. "Thanks," I stated. I didn't waste my time and dial a number. "Hello, Dad? Didn't you say that a proposal to buy MetroEast was given to you yesterday?" I inquire.
"Yes, I'm planning to buy it. Is there a problem?" he asks.
"Buy it. Call the owner and do the transaction today. I'll tell you the reason at dinner. Do it right away, okay? Bye-bye. I love you," I stated.
I drop the call and call the head of our legal team. "Faith, do you have any divorce lawyer friends? Someone that can win cases even if the other party is rich?" I ask. I didn't even greet her. "I have. My twin sister. But... you're not married yet. Why are you in need of that kind of lawyer?" she asks.
I look at the mother in front of me. "Give me her number. I'm helping a beautiful momma to win her freedom back. Also, she needs to fight for custody of her cute son," I remarked.
"I'll text you my sister's number. Tell her to contact her. Don't worry. She'll give her a huge discount based on what she can pay," she says.
"Don't worry. It's on me. I'll wait. Bye-bye." I drop the call, and just seconds later, I receive a text.
"Save this number. She'll help you win the case. Just show her this. She'll know who sent you to her," I stated.
I grab my calling card and place it in her hand. "As for your job, no need to worry. I'll assess your abilities. You'll meet me again next week. Go home and rest," I suggest. Her tears fall, and the glow in her eyes shows gratitude. She bowed her head and got inside her car. I watch her as they leave. I turn my body and face him.
"I'm sorry for that. Anyway," I halt. I grab one of my cards. "Take this. It's a compensation for all the trouble I caused you," I utter. That card has 100 million inside. He can use it to start a business if he's smart enough. "Boss!"
I place the card inside his coat's pocket. I wave my hand and keep my eyes on Melody. "Here's the long sleeve, and this one is your lippie," she says. I grab a wet tissue and use the side mirror to check it. "The other one, give it to the gentleman. I ruined his shirt so..."
I lean on the car and look at Melody. "Please tell me that's Armani," I utter. She laughs.
"Of course!" she says. I take a deep breath and start applying a new tint on my lips. "I'm sorry again." I faced him and used my finger to fix the tint on my lips. "Umm," he replied. Melody looks at me weirdly.
"Who is that guy? Also, he doesn't look poor, boss. Why did you have to compensate for his clothes?" she asks. I laugh.
"Of course I have to. Besides, he might be around for an important reason, and going back to his house is a hassle. Anyway, thanks! You can go back in the office now. Don't worry. You'll have a ten-grand bonus this month."
"You said that!" she giggles. I laugh and watch my assistant as she leaves. I went inside the gallery and just enjoyed the beauty of art. As I walked in the sculpture area, I was stunned when I saw that man again!
