Chapter 13

After school, I then went looking for a place to live.

I could not afford the rent in high suburbs as my money would be finished quickly and I could not continue living in the ghetto because of the crime as I knew I would get robbed living alone. So, I chose the middle suburbs where the average middle earning people lived. The rent was affordable. I found a cheap affordable comfortable-looking apartment and spoke to the owner.

It was a 2-room furnished apartment. With a toilet, kitchen, and a bedroom with a TV inside.

I then went to a downtown garage that sold cars and I suspected some of them to be stolen cars. I then bought some old jagger car at a low price as I was sick and tired of using the awful busses, subway, and taxis. I wanted my own car.

Although it looked horrible compared to the lavish cars I used to drive as a billionaire, it was efficient in using less fuel.

I then went back to Ricky's place to tell him the news about finding my own place.

I arrived there in my cheap vehicle and went inside. I found them sitting in some other guys’ room, doing drugs.

Developing an addiction, I sat by them and joined in after putting money on the table to pay for my share. I then took some weed and went to join Ricky who was smoking some while sitting outside and had sent someone to call for me.

I took a chair and sat with him while smoking my own weed feeling high.

"Nice new ride by the way," Ricky said to me while smoking his weed and looking as though he had something on his mind.

"Thanks, and I've also found a place to live. So, will be leaving soon. Thanks for letting me stay with you" I said to him wondering how he knew about the car.

"I already know," he said to me also knowing about me looking for another place to stay.

"How?" I said to him as I had not told anyone yet that is until I realized something, "You had me followed by your guys, but why?" I said to him with wide eyes trying to figure the reason.

That is until I spotted a bunch of newspapers and magazines next to him, but what took my attention was my face being featured on many of them from when I was still a billionaire with the media hounding my family.

Most of them showed my life before the accident when I used to attend celebrity events with my mother and was famous for being rich and being spotted with famous people. The worst of them which I did not want to look at, showed the tragic pictures of my dead mother and my father being arrested.

And then there were some of them with headlines of how the Silverman billionaire family was now bankrupt. I felt as if I was reliving my horrible past again as the memories which I wanted to forget were all coming back despite me smoking weed to forget.

With anger at Ricky for causing this, as I turned to glare at him, I saw him stare back at me.

"I know who you are, Nathan Curtis Silverman the billionaire."

"So what? Have you been researching me like some kind of cop? I hope you found what you’re looking for as I'm no longer a billionaire. I DON'T have bloody money to give you!" I said shouting at him in anger for daring to look into my past without my consent.

"Calm down man, I always do this for any person I let into my gang to make sure you are not some undercover cop trying to bust me for drugs. As for this billionaire thing, I guess I was right for naming you rich boy before knowing about it. And wow to think that I'm actually sitting here with a billionaire, it's wow." Ricky said to me with an envious look on his face.

"Ex billionaire," I said muttering to him in annoyance as I had now calmed down a little from knowing his reason for delving into my past.

"Doesn't matter buddy, from what I've been reading here, you lived a life I could never even dream to have. The mansions, the cars, the celebs, and the private jets. Wow man, you have lived the life." he said to me, still with that envious look.

"Don't envy me, I once had everything, and I now have nothing. Those people who pretended to love me the celebs, the best friends all deserted me, and some betraying me as soon as things started going downhill for me. Now I have no one, I'm fucked up and don't even care about my life anymore. "I said to in bitterness at how my life had turned out to be and then told him my whole story even about that evil ex-girlfriend of mine with how she cheated on me.

"You have me buddy, and although you have given up on life, I Ricky the master planner know what you really need," Ricky said to me with a gleam of excitement in his eyes.

"What's it you think I really need?" I said to him a little skeptical.

"Revenge my friend is what you need," Ricky said to me.

"Revenge? On who?" I said to him.

"All those people from that betraying best friend of yours, that cheating girlfriend to those relatives who refused to look after you after learning of your bankruptcy, the director who slept with your mother, practically anyone who did you wrong. Revenge my friend is the answer to your dilemma. "Ricky said to me looking devious.

"How do I do that?" I said to him now interested.

"The greatest revenge my friend is great success," he said to me.

"Then what?" I asked him.

"Then you destroy ruin anyone who did you wrong. And the most powerful weapon to do that my friend is money." Ricky said to me with passion causing me to think that maybe I should never get on his wrong side from the way he was talking about revenge.

"But how do we get the money, I'm broke," I said to him with a frown.

"You are the key Nathan. I have looked into your school test results and you pretty much ace it all. You’re intelligent and just like your father was I'm pretty sure business-minded too with a talent for making money. "Ricky said feeding my ego and what he said was true.

I had also been trained by my father since as a boy in the art of making money. During those times he was training me to take over his companies and businesses for him for when he retired to continue the legacy.

"How do I start in making the money when I don't have the start-up as I'm broke?" I asked him even though I knew that I still had about $3000 left, but it was little and not enough.

"I and my boys will provide you with the start-up money from our drug business and loans. You just work your magic as businessmen do in making small money grow to big money.

Doing things like stock or whatever you people do to make money as me and my boys are not that bright when it comes to things like that. "Ricky said to me with his eyes already imagining dollars in his pocket.

"What if it does not work and we lose the money as this is a big risk," I said to Ricky a little concerned.

"Then my friend we find something else and if you want, we could invest in the drug business. As billions of dollars could be made if you help me to grow it reaching worldwide." Ricky answered me with his mind still thinking of all the money he was going to get if this worked.

"I don't want any part of the drug business Ricky as I don't want to end up in jail. However, I could be your anonymous advisor and teach you how to do business and grow your drug business to something big. However, in exchange, if this works, you provide me with the investment loan to invest for myself in legal ways." I said to him now in business mode.

"That's fine with me but in whatever thing you invest, I get at least 20% in shares just in case my drug business fails," Ricky said replying to me now also in business mode and I nodded back replying that is fine.

"So what do you say Nathan Curtis Silverman, the ex-billionaire, will you partner with me and join me in the quest that will end with us as billionaires... and you getting your sweet sweet revenge," Ricky said to me with a glint in his eyes while holding his hand out to me.

"Yes, I accept," I said with a malicious smirk of my own while putting my hand in his to seal the deal as I now had something to live for and drive me.

Anyone who once did me wrong better watch it as I, Nathan Curtis Silverman the ex-billionaire was coming for his sweet delicious revenge. However, a little voice nagged my mind about how I was making a deal with the devil and would regret that choice, but I ignored it.
