Chapter 222: sacrifice

“What don't you understand, your waitress here is sleeping with my fiance and I want her to leave my man alone” Margaret said as she taught that the manager was more foolish than the other waitress.

“That doesn't have to do with the restaurant, so please if you are not ordering anything. Don't blame me for calling the security on you” the manager said as she was still composed with the calmness that was ready to snap any moment from now.

“Call the security on me, do you know who I am. If you do, you won't be saying these” Margaret said as she could not believe that a person working as a manager in a restaurant was telling her to leave.

“ If you are high and mighty, then you have more to lose than me because the rest customers are video and I have the power to stop the video from leaving these restaurant but you don't, so I suggest you should leave before the security arrive” the manager said as she smile warmly.

“You are going to regret this” Margaret said as she stared at the other customers with their phone, Margaret knew that she could not stop the video and since she was Antonio fiancee. That video could cause trouble for her company and the Jackson company, but the worst was the old man who would be angry if he ever saw the video. Margaret clinched her fist as she knew that she could not do anything for now but she smiled because she knew that there was no place Sonia could hide from her.

“There is nothing for me to regret accept you causing trouble” the manager said still composed as if, it was not the first time someone was causing trouble in her store.

“We will see Sonia, for now enjoy” Margaret said with a smile as she took her mother hand and immediately left the restaurant. Sonia stared at Margaret retreated back and she wonder why Margaret said those last words. But she could not shake the feeling that Margaret was up to something but she could not figure it out as she was confused.

“ Sonia see me in my office ” the manager said as she stared at Sonia before she retreated her gaze to he head waitress, signaling her to do something. Sonia saw the head waitress leaving and she knew that she was angry but the worst thing was that she could not see any form of anger in the manager eye. Sonia prayed silently that this meeting with the manager should go well, as Sonia had been feeling tired and nauseous lately and she she wanted right now was to sleep and eat a lot of food.  Sonia didn't know why but these days her food intake was getting higher by the day with the sleep habit she could not stop.  Sometimes she was even late to work as it was becoming hard to get up from bed. The time of the closing hour was just few minutes away and Sonia step into the office of the manager as she had already prepared for the worst.

“Do you mined explaining what had happened five hours ago” the manager said as she patiently await her explanation as she knew that Sonia had always done her job diligently with no complain from the staff and the customers.

“I had a relationship with her fiancee and still now we are still together” Sonia said as she didn't want to say anything about the contract but she knew that she was not in a relationship withe Antonio but this was the best way to explain her situation.

“No wonder, but since you both love each other why did your boyfriend not breaking up with that woman” manager said as she stared at Sonia and wonder why a beautiful girl like Sonia with settle for a relationship were pain and insult lies in as comfort.

“ Well it's complicated, but every soon we will part ways”Sonia said as she didn't want to life these kind of life with Antonio who doesn't even love her.

“Well I can't say anything about that but I can say that the woman that came here was a powerful person in the business world and the owner of the restaurant has informed me that you will no longer work here and your salary will be the full amount since the month is ending today. Am sorry Sonia, I tried my best but I couldn't convince the owner” the manager said as she was angry at the owner and her self as she could not protect Sonia from getting fired. Sonia already knew that these will happen as she was well aware that the life of the rich was different from them. But even with that Sonia was angry as she was having had upset stomach. Sonia was about to speak but the words stop as she felt nauseous abd before she knows it she was already running to the rest room in the manager office as she vomited. Sonia used water to clean her face as she saw her reflection in the mirror which was pale and the tiredness was visible.

“How you alright and do you normally vomit” the manager said as she saw Sonia who came out of the restroom with a pale and tired face.

“Well it has been happening for few days now” Sonia said as she felt tired and she could remember that the feeling of vomiting will only come but it will came down.

“Sonia are you pregnant!” the manager said as it was the sa.e sign she got when she was pregnant with her child.

Sonia stared at the manager as she was surprised that the word that came from her mouth was pregnancy. But Sonia felt uneasy because she immediately remembered that her period was late and due to reading for the examination and working, she had forgotten that her period was late.

“ You should check if you are pregnant when you get home, and I wish you the best of luck Sonia” the manager said as she was sure that Sonia was pregnant and with the little information tge manager knew that it was that woman fiancee child.

“Thank you ma” Sonia said as she pick the envelope on the table which contains her salary and she left the restaurant after changing her clothes to a shop to get what she needed to test whether she was pregnant.

Sonia arrived home as the only thought in her mind was to take the test in the rest room and wait for the result. Few minutes later Sonia went in and checked the result and Sonia face became more paler as she saw that there was two lines instead of one.

“When did things got to this extent” Sonia said as she could not stop the tears from coming out and she let all the frustration out through her tears. What was more painful was that the father of this child she was carrying did not even love her and he was even engage with other women. Sonia sat on her bed as she was confused and devastated on what to do and there was only two options. Which was keeping the baby or aborting it.
