Chapter 58: Reunion
Ace -
Seeing both their reactions to me as I enter the room fills me with lust. Their fear feeds me like an aphrodisiac and I intend to have them both watch as Maddie pleases me, since the maid is the one who refused to submit to me even after I had 2 others beat her. She has the same soul as Cassie, she refuses to accept that I own her just as Cassie does. Because of that defiance, I intend to have them both and I intend to take only my pleasure from them. But for today, Cassie is my student and I need her to be completely focused on me, so I dismissed the maid. After confirming that she did as I said, she gave Cassie some food and a washcloth.
"Leave us," I said imperiously, "I need to speak with Cassie before we begin."
She doesn't need telling twice and a look passes between them that I cannot read. It is because of this silent communication that I grab her wrist and squeeze hard, preventing her from leaving.
"If there are any interruptions, I will hold you personally responsible," she audibly gulps before bowing her head and scurrying through the door. What she doesn't realise is that I already know we will be interrupted so I have to punish her since Maddie should be on her way.
With that in mind, I approached the cage breathing in her scent deeply. I thought the perfume was perfect but I noticed a hint of musk that had been missing.
"Soooo, you thought you could reject me and escape? You thought you were too good for me, did you? And then you went and shacked up with a Gamma of all people?" I keep my voice low, calm, though blood is rushing through my veins, my prey is trapped before me, I can afford to take my time, "you threw away a future Alpha for a sh!tty Gamma? Answer me!" That last question came out in a shout, the thought of her trading me for someone lowly has been driving me to madness since I first saw them together.
She doesn't speak and this infuriates me further, "how dare you disobey me, I gave you an order! I AM YOUR MATE, YOU WILL SUBMIT TO ME!" My rage and her indifference caused me to lose control and I practically roared in her face.
"You are not my mate, you are my ex-mate, my mate is four times the man you are or could ever hope to be."
Cassie -
I practically spit my reply at him, "I rejected you! You are no longer my mate! And when my true mate does get here you will pay for all you have done," the goddess warned me he had gone mad and, though I hadn't seen anything of the packhouse or lands, I can guess as to their state. "You think you are so powerful, poisoning Luna Lily, killing Alpha Sven, but you still don't have the Alpha aura, you couldn't even get that right!"
"Killing the Luna was easy, it destroyed Sven who, by the way, is not dead, he withers away in his chambers, he refuses to pass on the title. So, now that I have you back, I will be taking it tonight, and if you think that Gamma is your mate and that he can defeat me, you are in for a rude awakening Cass." I am surprised he hasn't killed Alpha Sven yet, but relief floods through me. Knowing he is still alive, when I get out of this I will have the chance to thank him for helping me in my time of need and I can reassure him I am whole and well and happy with Jack.
Ace seems to think I am with Jason. I don’t bother to correct Ace regarding the identity of my mate. That my mate is an Alpha. An Alpha by blood would be a nice surprise for him, so I will allow him to think he is correct. It seems to anger him and I need him angry. Anger is easy to manipulate and distract. My fear fled in the face of Tara's fear, I needed to be brave, I had to be strong until Jack came and I had every intention of taking Tara with me. Lexi was urging me to save her, she wouldn't explain why, just that she deserved saving, since I trusted my wolf, that was enough for me. I plan to save this pack from Ace. They may not have defended me, but I would die for them. I guess that is the Luna in me. Knowing Dr Thorne and Alpha Sven were still alive bolstered me more. I knew instinctively that Tara was going to Dr Thorne right now and I needed to delay Ace as much as possible. I wasn't completely naive. I knew what he wanted from me, I just had to find the time to allow the others to arrive.
I checked my watch and saw it had been roughly 5 hours since I was captured. I must have been with the goddess longer than I realized, but that's good. Jack should be here soon, Dr Thorne will need all the help he can get with Alpha Sven being so ill.
I am pulled from my thoughts by a knock on the door and Ace rises from where he was crouched watching my face. As he approaches the door, he speaks to me over his shoulder.
“Cass, I expect you to pay attention to what is about to occur. This will be your job after this session, and I expect you to learn quickly and you had better hope you don’t disappoint me.”
He pulls open the door to reveal Maddie, dressed like a slut and preening like a peacock as though she were the most beautiful creature on earth, the skirt she is wearing shorter than her ass and the top revealing the bottom of her breasts. Her make-up is caked on so you can barely see the shape of her face and her shoes are so high that her ridiculously tall hairstyle brushes the top of the door frame as she walks over the threshold.
“Ah, a reunion, lovely, and so good to see you exactly where you belong Cassie,” she sneers before turning her attention to Ace, “You want me?” she asks coyly, twirling a bit of her hair that was left down for that precise reason. I think she believes she is alluring based on the longing on her face. However, I can tell she knows he has no real interest in her, she is a means to torment me and nothing more.
“You know what I want, but what I need right now is for you to show Cass what I want, we need to demonstrate so she will know how to behave, watch Cass, pay attention, it is all in the details,” when he turned to speak those last words to me, I saw Maddie’s face droop slightly before she felt my eyes on hr, then her sneer returned before she drapes herself on Ace as though he were the only liferaft in a vast ocean.
