CHAPTER 11- Escaping The Unknown

Ava's POV

As the morning sun streamed through the cracks in the curtains, its warm rays danced upon my face, coaxing me out of my slumber. Blinking open my heavy eyelids, I found myself in a bed that was unfamiliar and strangely luxurious. The softness of the mattress underneath me was a stark contrast to the hard floor I was accustomed to. Confusion washed over me as I realized that I was still in Xavier's room - the very man who had forcibly taken me from my life and claim to be my mate.

My heart raced in my chest as panic set in. How did I end up here? I tried desperately to recollect my memories from the previous night, but they eluded me like fragments of a broken dream. All I could remember was crying in one of the corners of the room, my anguished sobs echoing through the walls. I had no recollection of being on this bed.

Frustration consumed me, and I couldn't help but unleash my anger on the pristine sheets. I clenched my fists, tugging and pulling at the fabric until the bed was a disheveled mess. Each tug was accompanied by the erratic beat of my heart, a symphony of fear and confusion.

As I sat there amidst the chaos, I couldn't help but question everything. Did Xavier bring me here? How did he transport me without me even noticing? What was wrong with this man? My mind raced with countless unanswered questions, the uncertainty breeding anxiety within me.

"D-Did he bring me here?" I whispered to myself, my voice trembling. "How?" The words hung in the air, unanswered and haunting. In that moment, the room felt stifling, suffocating. I needed answers, but they seemed so far out of reach.

With a deep breath, I pushed myself up from the bed and surveyed the room. It was opulent, filled with artifacts and furniture that spoke of a man with power and influence. It was a stark contrast to my simple, modest life. But as I took in the lavishness surrounding me, the stark reality of my abduction became all the more apparent.

Anger and determination coursed through my veins, pushing aside the fear and confusion that threatened to consume me. Whatever plan Xavier had, I was resolved to find a way out, to escape from the clutches of this man who thought he could control me.

"I won't let him win," I whispered through gritted teeth. "I won't let him claim me"

I sneered. "He's probably Insane"

My thoughts were cut short by a loud knock on the door. My heart skipped a beat. Couldn't it be him?

I walked towards the door, my palms sweaty. It was one of the servants. She came with a set of clothes and told me that Alpha said I should freshen up and come have breakfast with him. Before I could even respond, she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

How dare he think I'll join him for breakfast after abducting me out of my will? Now he suddenly wants to start having meals with me? I couldn't believe it.

He is sick to think that. I fling the clothes to the ground panting.

II took a deep breath and walked out of the room. The servant was waiting for me outside. She led me through a long hallway until we reached a large dining room. Xavier was already seated at the table, his eyes fixed on me as I walked in.

"Good morning, Ava," he said with a smile. "I hope you slept well."

I had come with full force to fight him but then his dominating and Intimidating stare burn through my skin urging me to seat down

I didn't respond. I sat down at the table, my eyes fixed on the plate in front of me. The servant brought out a plate of food and placed it in front of me. I looked up at Alpha, who was already eating.

"Aren't you going to eat?" he asked, gesturing towards my plate.

"I'm not hungry," I said, pushing the plate away.

He sighed. "Look, I know you're angry with me. But I had to bring you here. You're safe now."

"Safe?" I scoffed. "You abducted me out of my own will. How is that safe?"

"I had to protect you," he said, his voice firm. "You're in danger, Ava. And I'm the only one who can keep you safe."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't need your protection. I can take care of myself."

Alpha leaned forward, his eyes intense. "You have no idea what you're dealing with, Ava. Believe me, you're not safe out there."

I looked away, my mind racing. I didn't know what to believe. But one thing was for sure - I wasn't going to let him control me. I had to find a way out of this.

"You can't trick me" I said, pushing my chair back from the dining table. "I have to leave."

He looked up at me, his expression harden. "You need to trust me on this"

"Trust you!," I said unbelievably. "I don't even know you Mr--" he cut me off

"But you're safe here," he said, his voice calm. "You have everything you need. Why do you want to leave?"

"Okay that's it," I said, my voice rising. "I can't stay here anymore. Your precense is suffocating"

He sighed. "I understand how you feel, but you can't just leave. You need to think this through."

"Think? Did you do that when you brought me here?" I said, my eyes fixed on him. "I need to leave."

"Very well then," he said, his voice resigned. "I did warn you."

I watched as him walked away, his figure disappearing into the distance.

I was the one suppose to be walking out on him not the other way round. I scoffed turning on my shoes and heading out.

I paused for a sec, now how do I get out?

Ugh! Why was the universe against me!?

After what seemed like forever, I finally found my way out of the mansion and stepped out into the open air. The morning breeze blew, sending chills running down my spine. I took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air, and looked around at my surroundings.

It almost felt like Everything was so different.

I disappeared into the woods, heading towards the hut where I had left Jake. The path was narrow and winding, with thick bushes and trees on either side. The leaves rustled in the breeze, and the birds chirped in the distance. I could smell the damp earth and the sweet scent of wildflowers. The ground was uneven, and I had to watch my step to avoid tripping on the rocks and tree roots that littered the path.

The sunlight filtered through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the ground. I could hear the sound of a nearby stream, and the rustling of small animals in the underbrush. I felt alive and free, as if I was part of the natural world around me. I continued down the path, my heart beating with anticipation, eager to see Jake again.

As I walked down the path, I couldn't help but worry about Jake. Was he okay now? I felt bad that I wasn't there to take care of him. After all, it was my fault he had gotten hurt by the Alpha. I should have been more careful. I should have protected him. I knew I couldn't change the past, but I could make sure that I was there for him now. I quickened my pace, eager to reach the hut and see him again.

Finally, I made it to the hut, my heart pounding with anticipation. But when I opened the door, I was surprised to find that it was empty. Jake was nowhere to be seen. My heart sank, and I felt a sense of panic rising up inside me. I looked around the room, hoping to find some clue as to where he might have gone. That's when I saw it - a bloodstain on the floor. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead.

I tried to stay calm, but my mind was racing with possibilities. What had happened to Jake? Had he been attacked again? Was he still alive? I couldn't bear the thought of losing him. I had to find him, no matter what.

I took a deep breath and tried to focus. I looked around the room again, searching for any sign of where he might have gone. That's when I noticed that the bed was still warm. He must have left recently. I felt a glimmer of hope, and I knew that I had to follow his trail.

I stepped outside the hut and looked around. The woods were dark and foreboding, but I knew that I had to press on. I followed the trail of blood, my heart pounding with every step. The trail led deeper into the woods, and I could feel the tension building inside me.

As I walked, I saw signs of a struggle. Broken branches, trampled grass, and more bloodstains. My mind raced with possibilities. Had he been attacked by another wolf? Had he been taken by humans? I couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible had happened.

I pressed on, my heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. The trail led me to a clearing, where I saw something that made me gasp in shock. There, lying on the ground, was Jake. He was unconscious, but alive. I rushed to his side, my heart pounding with relief. I knew that we had a long way to go, but I was just glad that I had found him.

I lifted him up and carried him back to the hut. I tended to his wounds, cleaning and bandaging them as best I could. I sat by his side, watching him as he slept. I knew that we still had a long journey ahead of us, but I was just glad that he was alive.

I couldn't risk being the reason behind his death.
