Chapter 49: E.R
I can’t stop crying, the pain won’t go away. Gabe is still carrying me, but it seems to not be working. The drive seemed to be taking forever. As soon as we pull up to the hospital, Gabe rushes out of the car and makes his way into the ER.
Soon a group of doctors and nurses with a gurney then places me on top of it. “Please help! Do what you must to help your Queen!” Gabe roared with worry. My head feels like a thousand pounds and pounding senselessly, they are all talking to me, but I can’t seem to speak.
“My King, I know you want to stay with her but please we need to check her out, once we fully know what’s going on we will let you see her. Please be patient and wait here, I’m sorry!” I hear one nurse tell Gabe.
I can’t take this pain any longer and the next moment I pass out from the pain, “Help me…”
Gabe’s POV:
No one isn’t going to keep me from Aria but before I said something, Noah and Liam came in and were asking question after question. “I don’t know a lot right now,” I said furiously. “Okay, let's just calm down and tell us exactly what happened,” Liam said trying to de-escalate the situation.
We all sit down, and I began to tell them all what happened from grabbing breakfast to putting Aria on the gurney, “Has she had this problem before?” Noah asked. I know the reason why, but this never happens since the mate bond has calmed them down.
“I know why but I can’t tell you because it's not my information to tell, but with that being said; this problem was always under control until now,” I say concerned.
“Okay… well whatever it is then we will do whatever we can to help our Queen get better,” Noah said patting my shoulder. Hours passed until I hear, “My King, you can come and see her now,” a nurse said. I rush to the back of the ER and see Aria sleeping with IVs in her arms and monitors beeping. I sit beside her and grab her hand, “My love, I’m here. Please wake up,” I say.
She lays without moving only breathing, Noah and Liam are at the door, they are talking to the doctor; probably best if they do, I would be furious and lose control when I know I can’t do that right now.
They walk up to me, “What did he say?” I said worriedly. “They don’t have any answers as to why she is having this kind of headache. They gave her some medicine for them and did some scans, but nothing showed up. He also said she passed out from the pain of them but gave her something for the pain so hopefully, she should wake up soon. If she stays good for a few hours she will be able to go back home”, Noah said with concern.
I turn to face them but never let go of Aria’s hand, “Noah, go back to the Packhouse, please let our families know of the situation. Once we are discharged, have them in the living room waiting for us. We will explain everything once we return”, I stated. “Yes, My king,” he said and walks out of the room.
Liam stares at Aria with worry, “Liam, I need you to do something for me,” I ask him. “Yes, Gabe anything?” As weak as this may sound but I ask him, “I need you to be here, I can’t be losing it or thinking crazy so as of now you have to help me because I’ll be so lost with her.”
Shocked by this he bows his head, “Gabe you can count on me, I’m here for you!” I feel so helpless that I can’t do anything to help her but the moment she wakes up, we're going to talk about her power and we need it to get done soon.
After a couple of hours, I see her eyes start to open her eyes, “Hello my love, how do you feel?”
She started to tear up a bit and with a horse voice, “I’m better now, I’m sorry my love I didn’t mean to scare you. Are you okay?” I kiss her hand, “Don’t worry about me my love, I’m just glad you’re doing better.”
Liam walks up to her, “You gave all of us quite the scare, but I’m glad to know you’re doing better my queen.” Aria turns to him, “Thank you for being here Liam and I’m sorry I don’t know why that happened?”
“If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” Liam asked nervously. “We will explain when we get back, can you let the doctor know that she is up,” I say trying to get him to leave. Soon Liam leaves the room and I turn to my mate.
“We can’t put this off any longer, we are going to find out your mother’s coven and get this power under control,” I said sternly. She looks so frightened, “I’m sorry my love but if don’t do something soon, who knows what else could happen. I just can’t lose you; I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to you.”
She sat up slowly and hugged me, “I’m sorry, I know you just want to protect me and you’re right. We need to find out my coven and get a moon crystal. Only then I will be able to get rid of these headaches and get control of my power.”
I know I couldn’t fit on her bed, so I carried and placed her in my lap, with her being in my lap has calmed me down, and pretty sure she is starting to feel a bit better because of it. Soon the doctor and Liam come back in and told us that she can be discharged within an hour. I felt relieved that she doesn’t need to stay over and can come back home. Now, all we need to do is explain to everyone what happened and what’s going on. Sounds easy right?
Author’s Note: Hello All, I’m back! Things are changing in my life, but I know that isn’t a good enough reason to abandon my story or y’all. I have read y’all’s comments and there is no apology I can give to make up for it, but I will do my best to better my story and to keep y’all wanting to read this story and wanting to know the end. This chapter isn’t my best, but I haven’t written in a while so bear with me. With that being said, I won't be doing daily updates but will do them every other day or 2-3 times a week. Depending on how busy I am that week. I want to be honest with y’all about updates. But if I do get more time, I’ll do more updates. Thank you, Readers!
