Chapter 45: Getting Ready

After spending some time together last night, Gabe left so we wouldn’t see each other before the wedding. I was so excited for today to come I hardly slept, now I regret it I’m starting to feel tired. And since Gabe didn’t sleep next to me, I had a really bad headache, I haven’t felt them in a while but without him here it’s starting to get worse by the second.

“I’m sorry that you’re getting these headaches again, maybe after the ceremony, we can talk to Gabe about looking for your mom’s coven. We need to get the moonstone soon,” I hear Melanie sounding with concern. She’s right I’ve been so caught up with moving here and meeting his family and now the ceremony; that I have completely forgotten that I need to find my mom’s coven to help get control of these headaches and what kind of power I will get.

“You’re right, we need to talk to Gabe but for now I’ll take some medicine and just focus on the ceremony. I’m meeting everyone in his kingdom, I can’t afford to be distracted by anything else,” I tell Melanie. I know this isn’t what she wanted to hear but it’s true I can’t make a fool of myself or Gabe. He is counting on me and his family to be the Queen the kingdom needs.

Soon my friends, my mom, my sister, his sisters, and his mom barge into my room as we all get ready for the ceremony. We do our hair and makeup while we have a couple of mimosas, 2 is the limit I don’t want anyone including myself to be tipsy at the wedding, everything has to be perfect. After a couple of hours, all of us are ready, they all are wearing their dresses I was helping Bella with the dress tying her bow in the back of the dress.

“Aria, are you ready to put on your dress?” Julie says while holding my dress. “Yes, I am,” I happily say. They all try to help me with my dress, making sure the skirt is fluffed out and the flowers on my straps are straightened. My mom then put the veil on my head, I had my hair down to show off my long-curled hair. They all stepped back to see their faces as they looked happy, holding back their tears.

It was my turn to see what I looked like I haven’t seen myself in the dress since I tried it on in the store. Once I saw myself, I couldn’t believe it, I looked like a princess who is going to be a queen! I had to stop myself from crying otherwise all the time we spent doing my makeup would’ve been a waste.

“It’s time everyone. Please grab your bouquets and Bella here is your basket,” Mandy says handing my sister her flower girl basket. She then turns to me with Ella standing by her, “Now, Aria remember to wait until Bella is halfway up the aisle then you can make your entrance.” Ella grabs Mandy and my hand, “Everything is going to be perfect Aria, don’t you worry or think about anything else, okay?” I nod at her and hugged them.

We all started to walk out of the room and head towards the church, but as we reached the elevator, I see Chris standing there he then walks towards us, “Mandy, Ella I need to speak to Aria for a moment,” he said telling them instead of asking. They bowed and got on the elevator, “We will wait for you in the living room.” “Okay, I won’t be long,” I say confidently.

“Not really how I imagined your wedding day to be, like how it’s not me that your marrying,” he said. I start to get annoyed, “Is there something you need Alpha Chris?”

“Have you worn my necklace yet? I don’t believe I saw you wear it yesterday. I figured you would’ve worn it since I flew all the way here to see you,” he said walking a bit closer to me. I take a step back, “Alpha Chris this is my wedding day, I don’t think you should talking to me like this. And besides, if I have worn it or not it doesn’t matter, what we had was nothing serious. I have a mate now and will please excuse me I have to hurry, or I’ll be late.”

I walk past him, but he then grabs my wrist, “Aria I know that he is your mate but please know that I will always love you and that I miss you. I haven’t stopped thinking about you and worrying if you were okay being here. I wanted to ask you one last time if this is what you truly want?”

I’m furious that he had the decency to ask me that, “Yes, this is what I want! I’m with an amazing man who loves me and isn’t scared of any surprises that come his way. He is very protective of me and is ready to treat me like a queen. Now I suggest you let me go or we will have problems.”

He lets me go and his face turns white, I get on the elevator he stopped the doors before doors could close, “Surprises?! Are you pregnant??” Before I could say anything, I see Liam walking towards us, “My queen, you better hurry the ceremony is about to begin,” Thank goddess he came in when he did; he gave Chris a hatred look, “Thank you Liam and yes, I know I was just telling Alpha Chris I was in a hurry to leave, may you walk to me the car?”

He bowed to me, and we both went down the elevator, “Don’t Gabe what just happened. I will tell him later, but I don’t want to ruin this moment for us, okay?” I know this is asking a lot of him but the last thing we need is Gabe and Chris fighting and ruining the ceremony. “Okay but as long as you will tell him later. But please let me know if Alpha Chris is bothering you again, it’s my job to protect you I would’ve been there earlier if you’d mind linked me,” he said with concern.

“I thought you were with Gabe seeing you’re part of his groomsmen,” I replied. “I am but you will always be my top priority, so I decided to stay back and made sure you made it to the church safely,” he said. I gave him a hug, “Thank you for being a great bodyguard and friend. Also thank you for saving from Chris I don’t have the energy to deal with him right now.” We reached the first floor and I see Mandy and Ella pacing back and forth, “Sorry girls about that now let's hurry up and get to the church, I’m ready to get married!” I said loud and proud. We walked to the car and I see Liam walking to his car and taking off after we did.
