Chapter 200: Epilogue

**Alice's POV (Seven years later)**

I got on my knees to check Hannah’s pads. I was super excited to see my daughter’s first real training. I was one of her coaches. Even so, I knew exactly how hard the ice could be when you fall, and obviously I was more anxious to let my own child step on the ice.

“Alice, she will be fine.”

Gideon said, obviously trying to save her from my overreaction. 

I nodded nervously. I kissed her little cheek, and I let her go. We removed the protectors of our skates too, and both of us followed her on the ice. She was four years old, just like I was exactly when my mum took me for my first lesson. Actually, she knew much more than I did that time. She was with me many times while I trained, and, of course, every single time she wanted to go on the ice with me.

We didn’t push her, she just wanted to do what mummy could do. I knew that was Gideon’s encouragement, as he always showed her videos of me, and he never forgot to tell her how many gold medals I had, including the Olympic one, which probably meant nothing to her yet.

After we got back from Beijing, I finished competing officially.

I always thought I was going to miss competing badly after I quit, but I realized I was happy as a trainer as well. I loved training new talents; I loved to encourage them and to see their success always made me proud and feel thrilled. 

I worked with Beth and Gareth. Since I got to know them as my colleagues, they were completely different. I got to know that Beth had a heart, and later she apologized to me for being so mean sometimes while she was my trainer, but I told her not to. I told her how grateful I was for her behavior towards me, as it always pushed me to work harder, achieving my goals. 

I married Gideon a year after I became an Olympic gold medalist, and we have lived happily since then. We had only a few arguments, and we both learned to value the time we could spend together.

His mum organized the wedding, of course, but this time I was involved as well. After what happened to Gideon, she was more caring about him. I could say she was clingy, but I didn’t mind her being close at all. After I became a mother myself, I got to understand her. Not the checking part though, but I've never dared to ask her about that.

I think all that we were going through back then taught us a lot, and the happenings brought all of us closer. 

We didn’t plan to have a child, it just happened, and even though I felt I wasn’t completely ready yet to become a parent, I loved my little girl to the Moon and back since the first movement she made in my belly. 

Gideon was a protective father. He reminded me of Seth. He adored his little one, and I loved to watch them. They always warmed my heart up, and it made me feel perfectly satisfied and grateful.

Riccardo and Alexandra lived happily too, but Matteo loved to spend time with me even more. We often took care of him, and he treated Hannah like his little sister. 

After we got back from Beijing, I knew Riccardo wanted to discover who was responsible for the happenings there, but soon, he only told me that from now on, I didn’t have to worry about anything, as they sorted the problem with Mr. Sullivan. 

I asked Gideon a few times, and I knew he knew everything about this case, but he only told me that it wasn't my business, pointing out they didn't want me to know about that, so soon I gave up.

The only thing that I accidentally heard once was that they found a laptop. The laptop had some information about storages belonging to the Devilles, and that meant a huge amount of money for them.

The Sullivans were fine as well. Seth and Leah welcomed their son two years ago. Ava loved her brother, but sometimes she missed that attention she had from her parents before their son arrived. I always tried to make her understand, even if a little baby needs more attention, that doesn’t mean her parents would love her less. 

I did everything to push her to compete. I didn’t need to work hard, though. She was the most talented skater in the club, and she could not wait to be fifteen, so she could compete in the famous competitions. I always tried to reassure her about her talent and I promised her success would get her there, but she always tried to fight harder, to make sure no one could beat her. That usually made me smile, because she reminded me of someone. Myself. 

I skated to the middle, waving to the little ones to come closer to me. I introduced myself, and after I told them and their parents what the first training was about, I explained to them their first e. Others nearly fell, trying to find their balance, but Hannah skated confidently.

“I told you.”

Gideon told me after he skated behind me, holding my waist. I nodded. 

“Do you think she will be like me?”

He laughed.

“Definitely. But she will stay as a solo figure skater, I guarantee that.”

I laughed as well, and I kissed his face before he let me go, and skated back to Hannah.
