Chapter 54: Attack

Sarah.

After talking with Bella, I am sure of one thing. I might be a human but I am meant to be a part of this world. I wouldn't have got Teddy in the first place, if I had to live like a normal human being. I am destined to be here for Milano. I don't know about Derek but I am sure about Milano. I didn't feel anything when Derek showed the mate bond. But when Milano showed it, I did feel the same thing. I would like to be his mated princess and no one else's. I have made my decision and now it's time to implement it.

It's dinner time and Milano is not yet home. Teddy was with his grandma for the whole day. But by the end of the day he needs me. So, I gave him dinner and read him a bedtime story. He has shifted to his new room. He just wants me near him until he sleeps. She agreed to sleep alone only because I was there in the next room. He also made me promise that I would not lock my room, so that he could come to me at any time. After the bedtime story, he told me everything he had done with his grandma. After that, he fell asleep as he was really tired.

After tucking him in the covers, I went down and started to wait for Milano. After about half an hour Pamila came to me and said,

“It's already nine Sarah. I think the Young master might be in some important meeting. Don't wait for him. Come and have dinner.”

“Thank you, Pam. You can go now. I'll be here until Milano comes. Don't worry about the food. I will warm them up when he comes.” I said,

“Are you sure, Sarah? I can stay here tonight.” Pam said,

“There’s no need. I am here and I will take care of everything. You need rest. You are the one who wakes up early and obviously sleeps last. I am going to change your timings when I become Luna.” I said with a smile.

“I am waiting for that day, my dear. Believe me, everyone is happy to get you as our Luna. But we are worried too. You being the princess Jovita Coleman, a lot of responsibilities will be there on your shoulders. You do have a Kingdom and a pack to take care of.” She said,

“That's making it really difficult for me to make a decision. I don't know what is right or wrong. I just know that I love Milano. More than that I can't live without my son because he is my life. I need them both. I am afraid that someone might come from the blue moon pack to take me to their kingdom. I'm waiting for Milano to discuss my future. Thank you for supporting me. You may leave now.” I said,

After Pamila left for her cottage, I went to the kitchen and made a cup of coffee. I need it to keep me awake. I was about to go back to the living room with the coffee when my stomach growled. I don't want to have dinner without Milano. So I just took some cookies and went back to the living room. I kept scrolling through my phone watching videos and reading some short stories. In between I had my coffee and cookies.

As time passed my eyes began to shut. I yawned and checked the time. It was already 11 and still Milano was not back. Finally I decided to call him. I dialed his number and it was switched off. Why is his phone switched off? He never did like this before. He has always informed someone if he gets late in the past. But today he hasn't called or informed anyone about being late. A strange feeling of fear started to fill me. Did something happen to him? Did anyone attack him? Was he angry at me because I didn't choose him in the first instance? I didn't know what to do. Everyone in the mansion was already asleep and there is no one I could ask for help.

I quickly went through my contact list on the phone which is just a few. I quickly dialed the first number on the phone list which was Uncle Donald‘s. His phone was also out of coverage which added to my fear. The next number that came to my mind was Mary's. She might know about Milano as Liam would have told her. With that thought, I dialed her number and she answered on the second ring.

“Hello Sarah, is there any problem? Why are you calling me so late?” She asked.

“Hello Mary, I didn't want to bother you this late but I don't have any other option. Do you know where Milano is? He is not back home and his phone is switched off. Did Liam tell you anything?” I asked.

“No Sarah, Liam didn't call me.” Mary said,

“Please call him and ask him where Milano is” I said,

“I have already tried to call him but his phone is switched off.” Mary said,

“Why are their phones switched off? Is there any other way to contact them?” I asked.

“I am trying to connect with him, Sarah. I will tell you when I am able to connect with him.” Mary said and hung up, making me freak out.

What happened to them? The terrifying thoughts that came to my mind about what could have happened to Milano took away my peace. I wished if I were a werewolf, I could have done something other than walking up and down through the hallway. My wait lasted until my phone rang. It was Mary and I quickly answered.

“Any news about them?” I asked

“They are safe now.” Mary said,

“What do you mean by they are safe now? Were they in danger?” I asked.

“I don't know exactly what happened to them. I was able to send help on time and they will be back home soon. Liam and Mr Shultz will be coming with Milano. They all are wounded. They need to be treated. Just inform the guards and they will take care of the rest.” Mary said,

“Should I tell his parents and grandmother?” 8 asked

“It can wait until morning. For now, just go and make the arrangements.” She said,

“Are you coming to the mansion, Mary?” I asked.

“I would love to but I can't. No one except a pack member can enter the premises at night. I will come and visit them in the morning. “ She said and hung up.

I opened the front door and the guards at once became alert. They smiled when they saw me.

“Milano, beta Kyle and uncle Donald are coming. They are wounded and they need treatment.” I said,

A guard ran towards the small guard building near the mansion. He came back after some time and said, “The medical team will be here shortly. Do you know what happened to Alpha and others?”

“I don't know. Liam's wife informed me that they are wounded and they need treatment. We have to wait until they reach.” I said and went inside.

Soon I heard the voice of a car engine. I quickly ran outside. The Guards had already helped them out of the car. Milano was in the driver's seat and seemed less wounded than the other two. Liam was nearly unconscious and had more wounds. He is covered in blood. Uncle Donald had an injured hand and some cuts over his face and shoulders. Milano also has some cuts but he had injured his leg which I understood when he limped.

I went to help him but the guards took the lead. That's when I noticed his outfit. He was not wearing the suit he wore to the office. He was wearing a loose t-shirt and pants. I checked Liam and he is shirtless wearing just short pants. His wounds were tied up by some clothes. Uncle Donald was wearing his usual clothes. I had already seen him in those clothes.

All three of them were taken by the Guards on stretchers and I followed them. They were taken to another building. It was like a hospital which had all the modern equipment. There were doctors and nurses to take care of them. I called Mary and informed her that they had reached and were being treated. She was relieved and asked to tell Liam that she would be here in the morning. After waiting outside for a long time, a doctor came and said,

“They are fine now. You can meet them in the morning. You don't have to sit here. They are safe here. You can go.”

The doctor was indifferent as if he didn't know who I was. Well there was less chance that he knew me. We hadn't made our relationship official. Neither did we appear together anywhere in public. My identity was confined among those working at the mansion and Milano had already told them to keep it a secret. I didn't have any other option other than to return back to the mansion. I went to Teddy's room because I didn't want to be alone. I got in beside him in his small bed and soon fell asleep without any worries. He had been my pain reliever from the time I got him.
