Chapter 76
James returned Cassidy’s kiss with one equal to what she was giving him. Both of them were still high off of adrenaline from ending Nash and that did nothing but ignite their need to conquer and dominate as alpha wolves. They kissed, James quickly taking control of the situation, keeping Cassidy pinned against the wall as she eagerly tried to rub her body against his and then began to growl when she tried to break free of his grip.
“Let me free… I need to touch you.” Cassidy whispered against James’ lips and was pleasantly surprised when she was released without argument. Her hands went into his hair and his hands were instantly on her body, both of them feeling intense emotions rolling through them. Cassidy could only describe it as a frantic need to be as close to him as possible. She cupped his jaw with her hands and pushed off the wall, bringing him down for another hungry kiss.
James was not immune to the pull of Cassidy or the instinct for their wolves to share in victory as well as the need to be as close as to each other after the challenge. It was one thing to feel lustful after a fight, high off emotions and adrenaline but this was a new thing for James. He had feared losing her in that small room. If she had made him submit to fight Nash herself… she could have lost and there was nothing he would have been able to do about it. The thought alone was earth-shattering for James and he growled angrily, picking Cassidy up like she weighed nothing, breaking the kiss and pinning her to the wall again.
Cassidy took in a sharp breath when the kiss was broke by James’ growl and his strong hands lifting her up until she was at eye level. Her thighs lifted and wrapped around his hips as her mate pinned her with his body. She could see he was still angry and in truth, she could not blame him. But her wolf had a one-track mind when it came to certain things and she wasn't about to let him steal the only revenge she felt she could ever have against the rogues.
“You will never… Do what you did tonight again. Ever.” He demanded of her, his lips just an inch away from hers.
Cassidy smirked a little, her golden eyes meeting his mossy dark green. “I will do it again if I have to.” She whispered back, arching her hips and rubbing herself against the broad head of his length. “And again..” She circled her hips, wiggling just a little to try and lower down onto him. “And again…” she taunted him seeing his pupils dilate as his wolf grew possessive and angry over her defiance.
The Luna was playing a dangerous game and she knew it. When it came to the safety of their mates, Alphas were notorious for their protective instinct and ruthless possessive nature. It was no different for James and even her to an extent. James growled and without warning, he let her fall and impale herself on his length fully, thrusting upwards and pulling her down at the same time to make sure she was fully and completely seated.
“I said NEVER!” he growled right back at her as he pulled her down. His words mixed with a surprised shout from Cassidy as his mate’s walls stretched snuggly around him and her nails dug deep into his shoulders. Once the shock of what he had done wore off after a few seconds, James was met with a heated glare. Cassidy went to growl and James pulled back a little and thrust in again. “Never.” He growled against her ear as he pressed his body against hers. “I love you too much to lose you…” James whispered before he began a steady but powerful rhythm, laying claim to his female.

Cassidy had submitted. Her mate and Alpha had claimed her so thoroughly through the very early morning hours she forgot what she had even been angry over at the start of it after hearing his declaration of love. Her wolf was annoyed and strangely pleased at the same time with the fact that Cassidy had submitted the way she had, begging, pleading, and agreeing to never interfere in a challenge again. James had edged her for well over an hour, bringing the she-wolf to the tipping point of orgasm before he would pull out much to her frustration and then would repeat it all over again.
The Alpha had brought her to a screaming end when he finally allowed her to come, joining her in the release. James took his time caring for her afterward, washing her from head to toe and then drying her off. Cassidy had been wrapped like precious cargo in a thick fluffy robe and carried home. She was worn out and exhausted and vaguely remembered hearing Julius’s concerned voice at one point before all had gone dark and she slept a dreamless deep sleep.
Her mind went over all of this before she even opened her eyes. She did not know what time it was or even what day as she sat up slowly. It was already dark outside, the room dark except for the bathroom light that had been left on. She was thankful for that as she threw the covers off and quickly went across the floor to relieve herself in the bathroom.
“Cassidy?” she heard James call out after he came into the bedroom, worry in his voice when she was no longer in bed.
“Bathroom!” She called out and finished, getting her robe off the hook and putting it on before she came back into the bedroom.
James had turned on the lights and was sitting on the foot of the bed when she came out, looking handsome in dark gray, nearly black slacks along with a black button-up shirt. He had the necklace his mother had given her in his hands and when he saw her, he smiled happily. “I was just coming to wake you up. Mother is threatening my life if we miss the pack bonding ceremony tonight.” He said with a grin that quickly turned into a guilty, worried look. “Are you okay?”
Cassidy walked over to James and they came together in an easy embrace. She stood between his legs as he wrapped his arms around her and rested his head against her chest as she gently stroked his black hair. “I am perfectly fine James.” She reassured him before leaning back a little so she could see his face as he looked up at her. She grinned and chuckled in a soft tone. “But neither of us will be okay if I don't get dressed.” She told him before leaning down and giving him a quick kiss. Heading to the closet she looked over her shoulder. “I am taking it it is not a very formal thing?”
“No.” James responded, watching as his mate went into the walk-in closet to find something to wear. “Just be sure it is something you can get out of easily.”
“James!” Cassidy shouted and laughed “I will never have a need for clothes if you have your way.”
James chuckled and stood up. “As much as I already have plans to get you alone without clothes before morning again, this is for the pack. We will go on a run once the bond has been made. They are very anxious you won't accept them.” He explained as he went to the door and leaned against it, watching Cassidy shimmy into a loose soft coral colored dress that she could slip right off her shoulders.
“What?! Why wouldn't I ever accept them? They are your pack.” She asked in confusion.
“It has happened before. When an alpha mates into an established pack. Their wolves do not accept the pack.” James explained as he came behind her and put the necklace around her neck, fastening it. He left out the part that was what happened when his great grandfather had mated into the BlackStone pack. “I do not think your wolf will reject anyone… if she wanted to leave you would have been long gone by now.” He teased her and the pair grinned at each other in the mirror.
James wrapped his arms around her from behind and lowered his head, kissing the mark he had left at the base of her neck where it met her shoulder, smiling at the shiver of a reaction it brought Cassidy.
“James…” Cassidy whispered breathlessly when she shivered, closing her eyes and leaning back into him.
“I just want to hold you. Have you to myself for a few more minutes. I'm afraid I've never been good with sharing and now I must share you with the entire pack.” He grumbled lowly.
His words brought a warmth to the she-wolfs cheeks and she smiled, letting them have their moment of peace between them as he held her. She could have remained like that forever. At least until there was a sharp knocking on their bedroom door followed by Macy’s impatient voice.
“You two hurry up. The entire pack is going to get there before us if you don't get moving!”
