Chapter 87: Book Two- Her Alpha Savior- Chapter Thirty-Nine
Chapter Thirty-Nine
Max
With everything that happened the other night with Heather, I know Josie could tell something was wrong, and I hate that I had to act that way, but I keep telling myself it’s just a means to find out all the information I can about where Josie is. I know Josie could tell what was going on. Ever since she and I have gotten close and accepted each other as mates, the bond has gotten stronger, I just hope she can forgive me for everything I had to do.
When I make my way back to my dad’s office to find out what kind of leads, he has.
“Hey dad, how is it coming? Any new leads to tell us where Josie might be?”
“Well, I have everyone looking around the surrounding areas and I have gotten a few calls from other Alphas to let me know they are keeping an eye out. They have found a few rogues nearby and a scent that they don’t recognize, they said they would have their scouts check it out and get back to me. So, I am just waiting for the call back.”
“Okay dad.”
I turn to leave the office and I can’t help but feel depressed and feel out of my element. I mean my mate is gone and I am trying to stay strong but with no new information about her whereabouts, I am having a hard time. I need to find her and get her back. My wolf is having a worse time with all this. Just as I am about to leave the office completely, I hear my dad’s phone ring and when I turn back towards him and I hear him talking about an empty building near an ally pack members pack lands and It’s a good two hours away from us and I already know what my dad is going to tell me when he hangs up the phone.
“Hey, son… “Already on it dad, I’ll meet you out front in twenty minutes and ready to go.”
He gives me a nod of his head stands to leave his office right behind me to prepare and rally the troops to make our journey to save my mate.
I quickly run upstairs to my room to change into clothes that will be easy to take on and off when I shift if I need to and when I make it to my room and throw my door open, I come to a halt at what more like who I see laying in my bed…. Naked.
“Heather, I don’t have time for this. I need to get changed and go. My dad found Josie.”
She has a look of shock on her face and a look of, dare I say…fear. But I pay no mind to it right now I need to get to Josie before something worse happens she has been missing for t=four days and I can’t bare to go another day without her. She quickly jumps up out of bed and rushes to me.
“Maxxy poo, you can’t be serious. I am here for you, and I have been waiting for almost two hours for you to come back up here and have some fun with you.”
“Heather,”
I try to remain calm even though I need her to think I am going to choose her; I need her to think I don’t want Josie.
“I need to go get Josie. I know I told you I didn’t want to be with her anymore and how my bond with her has faded but she is still a pack member and she still need to be protected. So, I need to get to her before something worse happens to her.”
She gives me a pout and pushes her chest against mine and I ty to hold back the chills, so I don’t let her think something is wrong. I need to get to my Josie so she and I can finally be together the way the Moon Goddess planned.
“I’ll be back soon and then we can pick up where we left off.”
She then gives me a smile and a kiss on my cheek, and I turn to make my way out to the front where my dad is already waiting with all out warriors and trackers.
We all pile into the three vehicles and make our way out to the last known area josie and the rogues were seen. I am on edge and my wolf is on edge. We have two hours to get to there and as of right now. I feel like we are driving at a snail’s pace.
I try to talk to my dad and the others in the vehicle with me to try and pass the time, but I am bouncing in my seat, and nothing is working. I am worried about what they have been doing to her. I just hope she is going to be okay. I know she will need time and a lot of care to get through everything she has been through, but I just hope we get to her in time.
When we finally reach the area that Josie was last seen, I step out of the car and make my way forward then I feel a hand on my shoulder and for a split moment I hold my breath until I turn around and realize it’s just my dad trying to keep me in place, so we can come up with a plan.
“Dad, we need to get in there and get her.”
“I know son, and we will. We just need to come up with a plan so that we can all be safe, and we can get her out safely.”
I give my dad a nod and make my way to the back of one of the SUV’s where they have a map lain out that shows what this area looks like and we quickly come up with a plan and make our way to the building were my sweet little Josie is. Please Goddess let her be okay.
We make our way to the building and before we can get too close a group of ten rogues jump out and growl at us and a few of them quickly shift into their wolves and our enforcers are quick to shift into their wolves as well and they give us a nod of their heads that tells us to keep going. So we give them a nod of thanks and my dad, myself and a few other enforcers continue towards the building and we hide behind a bush to keep from being seen, but we don’t get to stay hidden long because of our scent and the rogues pick up on it make their way right to us and the other enforcers quickly shift and begin to fight this group of rogues and I can hear growling and snapping of bones and I see rogues fall to the ground and stay there which tells me they are dead and then out of nowhere I hear is a blood curdling scream from inside and I quickly jump over an enforcer and a rogue fighting and I quickly shift into my wolf and take off at a sprint to run inside to my mate.
I manage to get inside, and when I do and I see Josie slumped over in a chair tied at the hands and feet and her head is hanging down and blood starting to pool under the chair she is in, my blood then runs cold, and I can keep myself up any longer. I collapse to my knees and try my hardest to crawl to her and when I make it to her, I touch her face.
“Josie, baby please. Wake up. I’m here. Please I need you to wake up.”
I run my hand through her hair, and I prop her head up so I can see her face completely and I try to hold her head up and untie her hands at the same time, but before I can get too far, I feel something come slamming down on the back of my head and I see nothing but black.
