Chapter 137: Kiss Me
Adrian shook his head, looking totally baffled. "I can't believe it, we're family now. Do you think this is fate?"
Isabella just nodded. "Yeah."
"I remember when you took me to the clinic, there was a little girl with us, named Elodie, right?"
Isabella smiled softly. "Her name is Elodie Garcia."
"Yeah, that's it. My memory's not that bad." Adrian chuckled.
Isabella joined in his laughter.
George, who was dancing, kept glancing over at them, clearly distracted.
George knew exactly what a guy's look at a girl meant. He felt a weird sensation in his chest.
Thalia noticed where he was looking. "I told you, Isabella likes to flirt with guys. You and Patricia didn't believe me. Look at her, it's her first time meeting Adrian today, and she's already laughing and carrying on."
George shot back, "What, should she cry instead of smile when talking to people?"
"George, I'm just looking out for you. Women know women best. Isabella's not a decent one, even if she has a kid."
George gave her a cold stare. "Yeah, and you're perfect, not dating or getting married."
"I'm only in my early twenties, so what? You're just defending her."
George didn't want to hear Thalia trash-talking Isabella. He let go of her hand and walked off the dance floor.
Thalia followed, fuming. "George!"
"Enough, go dance with someone else." George loosened his collar, unbuttoning a couple of buttons, the light catching his collarbone.
Outside, Adrian and Isabella were still chatting and laughing, admiring the flowers. George's eyes turned cold, the warmth fading away.
"Isabella, come here," George called out.
Isabella glanced back at him and excused herself to Adrian. "George is calling me, I have to go."
Adrian nodded. "Alright."
Isabella could sense the emotion in his voice and hurried over. "What's wrong?"
"Come here, sit down." George pointed to his lap.
"Are you serious?" She hesitated, not wanting to be too intimate in such a public setting.
"What are you waiting for?" George's voice was tinged with anger.
"Patricia's friends are all here." Isabella sat next to George. "What's wrong? Are you in a bad mood?"
Feeling his anger was unreasonable, George grabbed a glass of red wine and downed it in one gulp.
In Isabella's memory, George never showed his emotions. He was the type who could destroy someone without making a sound. She wondered who had the nerve to upset him today.
"Kiss me." George tilted his head back and closed his eyes.
Isabella was stunned. George would never make such a request in public, given his personality.
She raised her hand to touch his forehead, but before she could, George's deep voice interrupted. "I'm not sick."
Isabella asked, "If you're not sick, What are you doing? You were fine just now. What's wrong? Who upset you?"
George slightly opened his eyes, half-squinting at her. "Isabella, do you not even want to kiss me now?"
"What's bothering you?" Isabella couldn't understand why he was so angry.
The music started again, and Adrian walked in from outside, heading straight for Isabella.
"May I have this dance?" Adrian asked, extending his hand to Isabella.
"Sorry, Adrian, I don't know how to dance," she said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
George glanced at Adrian, then at Isabella, and took another gulp of his wine.
Adrian smiled. "It's okay, I'm not great either. This song is slow, I'll teach you."
Adrian kept his hand out, and Isabella felt awkward. She hoped George would step in, but he just ignored her.
"Adrian, I really don't know how to dance," she said again, tugging at George's sleeve, but he didn't budge.
"Tonight's about having fun. It doesn't matter if you can't dance, just enjoy yourself," Adrian insisted, extending his hand further.
Isabella couldn't keep refusing, so she reluctantly stood up. "Alright then."
As they walked onto the dance floor, George's anger simmered. He forced himself to stay calm, but inside, he was fuming.
Thalia, holding a glass of juice, sat next to him. "George, want to dance another song?"
"Get lost," George snapped.
"Why are you yelling at me? If you want to yell, yell at Isabella. She's the one flirting with Adrian right in front of you. Don't take it out on me."
George's grip tightened around his wine glass, his knuckles turning white. Thalia kept pushing. "Look, I told you Isabella is flirting with Adrian. Adrian is even tying her shoelaces."
George's eyes followed.
Adrian was half-squatting in front of Isabella, tying her shoelaces without a second thought, and Isabella was letting him.
George felt a pang of jealousy at Isabella's smile.
Isabella, feeling awkward, tried to stop the situation from being misunderstood. "Adrian, I can do it myself. It's embarrassing."
Adrian replied, "I stepped on your laces, so it's only right that I tie them."
"It's really okay," she insisted, worried about how it looked.
Adrian finished tying her shoelaces just as the music stopped.
George slammed his wine glass down and stormed towards the dance floor. Without a word, he grabbed Isabella's wrist and dragged her upstairs.
Isabella stumbled, almost falling. "What are you doing? George, you're hurting me, slow down."
George ignored her, pushed open the bedroom door, and threw her onto the bed.
Isabella winced in pain. "What's wrong with you?"
George's eyes were cold, making Isabella shiver.
"George, what the hell?" she asked again.
He stared at her intensely, making her feel uneasy, then slowly began unbuttoning his shirt.
Isabella understood what he wanted, but there were still guests outside, and Patricia could come looking for them at any moment.
"Can we do this tonight?" she pleaded.
George didn't respond. He just took off his shirt, threw it aside, and pressed down on her.
His kisses were forceful, unlike his usual gentleness. Isabella tried to push him away, but it only made him angrier and more intense.
He bit her lip, and her clothes were torn and disheveled. Isabella felt a deep urge to resist. "George."
