Chapter 267
Chapter 267
The night was thick and dark.
When Diana got home, she was greeted by a face full of resentment.
What's going on?
Is it just because she didn't answer the phone or reply to messages?
Diana swayed her hips as she walked over and threw herself directly into his arms, "Michael, what's wrong? In a bad mood? Or did something happen?"
Diana's sweet voice was enough to melt anyone's bones.
Michael's whole body trembled. He forced himself to resist the urge to hold her tight and kiss her hard, instead turning his face away proudly, "You were very busy today."
Diana nodded, "I was pretty busy. You know, all the trending topics online today were my doing. Being this busy and still having time to come home is already pretty rare, so don't be mad anymore. I'm really tired."
Michael's face darkened even more. He wrapped his arms tightly around Diana's slender waist, his eyes full of resentment.
His long fingers wandered over Diana's body, finally settling on her chin, gently stroking it, "Do you know how worried I was? After seeing the trending topics, I knew it was you, but you're too bold. Aren't you worried they'll come after you? What if they try to get revenge on you?"
Both Finn and Chase were ruthless people.
Diana had the nerve to drive around watching the drama unfold.
What's worse, he had clearly sent messages and called, wanting to go with her so he could back her up, but Diana didn't answer a single call.
As soon as he found out where Diana had gone, he rushed over in his car, but by the time he got there, Diana had already left.
Michael pulled out his phone resentfully and showed her a tracking map.
Diana glanced at it, her heart stirring, her face full of emotion, "So you didn't do anything else, just followed me around?"
To say she wasn't touched would be a lie, but more than that, she felt pressure.
What was Michael doing now? Was he determined to marry no one but her? She had already figured out their relationship, but she still couldn't help being moved.
Could it be that he treated all rebellious people this well?
After thinking for a moment, Diana rested her head on his shoulder, "Okay, don't be mad anymore, alright? I've been busy all day and I'm really tired."
"Besides, you should understand my personality. I never like reporting to anyone about what I'm doing. I like being in control."
Michael took a deep breath, his face dark, "Don't you want me to help you? If you left this to me, everything would fall into place naturally."
Diana shook her head, "So I have to depend on you? I want to do it myself."
They saw stubbornness in each other's eyes.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
Diana frowned and walked over to open it.
Seeing who it was, she froze for a moment, "What are you doing here?"
Ruby's eyes were red and swollen. Without even glancing at Diana, she walked straight in and stood next to Michael, "You can't treat me like this. We grew up together since we were kids. How can you do this to me? Let's get married, okay? I promise you, even after we're married, if you keep other women on the side, I won't interfere."
"At worst, I'll be your wife and let her be your mistress. We can live in peace, and I'll even allow this woman to have children."
Diana took a deep breath but said nothing. Instead, she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, looking like she was watching a show.
Michael saw this and his chest heaved with anger. He looked coldly at the person in front of him, "I've told you, we have no relationship, and I won't marry you. I'll only have one wife in this lifetime, and that's her."
He pointed at Diana without hesitation.
Ruby seemed devastated, unable to support herself. She swayed twice as tears streamed down her face, "Why? I've already compromised so much, but you still won't accept me."
"Or is it that from the very beginning, you never saw me as your fiancée? You can't do this to me."
"Stop making noise. It's annoying. I've never seen you as my fiancée, and I've never seen you as a sister either. We're not close."
Michael's thin lips curved up, every word he spoke dripping with coldness.
Ruby's lips trembled, her face pale as paper. She opened her mouth but couldn't say a word.
Finally, she turned her gaze to Diana, "I don't want to talk to you, but I have no choice now. You know that with your status, you'll never be able to marry into the family. Let's work together. I'll be the wife, you can be the mistress on the side. I can promise you that if you have children in the future, they can be registered under my name. How about that?"
Diana looked at the person in front of her in horror, her whole body trembling with goosebumps.
Seeing Ruby getting more and more out of line, Michael stood up, pulled Diana into his arms, and pointed at the door, "Get out right now, or don't blame me for being ruthless and throwing you out."
Ruby cried even harder, "You're too cold and heartless. Why? I've already compromised this much, but you still won't accept me."
Before coming here, she thought she had already trampled all her dignity into the ground.
But she still couldn't get what she wanted.
Ruby seemed to make up her mind and spoke again, "We can write an agreement. The two of us can have a wedding ceremony to satisfy our elders, and you two can get the marriage certificate. That should work, right? I'm not asking for much, just let me attend major events as your wife."
Ruby was a perfectly good heiress with so many options. Why did it have to be Michael?
Was Michael excellent?
Of course he was, there was no doubt about that.
But that didn't mean a woman should throw away her dignity and be willing to sacrifice everything for a man. It wasn't worth it.
Diana took a deep breath and opened her mouth to say something.
But Michael had already lost his patience. He grabbed Ruby's clothes and pushed her out, "Listen carefully. Don't come and disturb our lives again, or I'll go after the Hill family. Let's see if the Hill family can handle my anger."
